Our second of three Members’ articles this week revisits last weekend’s fixtures and plunders the Gameweek filtered Opta stats currently available on our test server. This new set of tools, which we hope to be opening up for a Beta test next week, allows the analysis of statistics not only over a specific Gameweek but also a range of Gameweeks.

We took a look at some of last weekend’s top performers to offer you further analysis and to highlight some of the information that Members will be able to discover and examine for themselves very soon…

          I'm loving it, Henry.

          I love the fact that we have a solid defence and the team spirit is incredible. They never give up and they just have a ton of self belief.

          I want to go up as Champions though. Warnock is amazing. very weekend I'm walking on air.

    Commiserations to all the folk in the UK regarding the FIFA sham. I have read most of the posts for the last few hours - here is a slightly different view and my opinion. England did not get the 2018 WC for 1 simple reason - the FIFA executive and its henchmen, hangers-on and other thieves knew that if the WC went to England that there would be no way that they could get their greedy paws on the lions share of the money and profits. There is no way that the general "British" sense of fair play would have allowed the amount of corruption and skulduggery that they are accustomed to (see your expose of the corruption re the votes). They prefer much easier venues where, with the local organizing committee, and a few others they can easily control the vast sums of money generated by poor suckers like you and I. There is no legacy that any WC leaves except a trail of broken promises, lies, fraud and debt. This comes from hard experience of the 2010 WC. The people who benefited from the WC in 2010 are a few dubious but well connected South African officials and FIFA or close family members of FIFA. The so called profits of the 2010 WC have left on FIFA chartered jets and lie in Swiss bank accounts. This would never have been allowed to happen on the scale that they are used to in England. So be proud of the fact that you were not deemed good enough. We were all so thankful to FIFA when awarded the 2010 WC - now that it is all over and they have pissed off, there are not too many who have good things to say about them.

        You know that England voted for Blatter over Lennart Johansson to become FIFA president because they thought it would help their bid for the 2006 world cup. Johansson at the time backed the German bid. We reneged on our backing for Germany to host that world cup and also on out vote for Johansson. Chickens came home to roost.

        Unfortunately they are all too caught up in the "backdrop" and so called promotion, and how it looks rather than how it should be. eg. the Cape town stadium should have been built in Athlone or elsewhere on the Cape Flats where it was more easily accessible and where it would have been more beneficial to football in general and especially to the poor people did not happen. Why? Because Fifa and its Exec absolutely insisted that the stadium had to be built in Greenpoint so that they could have Table mountain as a backdrop to showcase "their" global game.

      Good post, we got off lightly.
      I was amazed to hear about the tax haven FIFA insist on for their mob and official sponsors.
      Wouldn't it be great if UEFA broke away from FIFA. We could run our own alternative competitions, bring in video technology, alter the stupid offside rule etc..
