The Scout Picks Community Champion Vote – Gameweek 27

Welcome to this week’s Scout Picks Community Champion vote. Here’s a reminder of how this works. As part of our revamped Scout Picks, Mark, myself, Paul and a community champion picked by you each week are up against each other. All four teams are then used to decide our final weekly Scout Picks.

We are now looking for Gameweek 27’s Scout Picks Community Champion to represent you and get one over on The Scouts as well as be in with a chance of winning a special prize. The champion who manages the best Gameweek score (or best score from the first ten matches in a double Gameweek) will win a £100 Amazon voucher.

To put yourself forward simply add in your Gameweek 27 Scout Picks. For everyone else please upvote the poster you would like to represent you based on their picks.

We only need 11 picks and please be mindful of budget, which has now been increased to 84m. There’s no captain in the picks either and please stick to a designated FPL formation, including no more than three players from one team.

I’ll leave this vote open until 10am tomorrow (Wednesday) when I will announce the winner. The winner will then be asked to submit their final picks to me taking into account latest injury news by 5pm Thursday.

Any attempts to disrupt the voting process may lead to the team involved being removed at our discretion. Also the comment section below is for those who want to present their teams and vote. If you have any suggestions on how the Scout Picks can be improved further next year please email me at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk rather than leave a comment below.

    De Gea (SUN)

Trippier (SWA), Haidara (AVL), Wollscheid (HUL)

Cazorla (EVE), Silva (liv), Sterling (MCI), Moses (HUL)

Sakho (CRY), Aguero (liv), M. Diouf (HUL)

    Total Cost: 75.4m

De Gea - Sunderland haven't done much in attack in recent games, even after going with a more attacking 4-4-2 formation. Against Man U they're bound to revert to a more defensive set up and so it's unlikely they'll be able to score.

Trippier - good assist and clean sheet potential.

Haidara - Newcastle looking to bounce back after the drubbing against Man City. Haidara looks nailed on and could pose some assist threat too.

Wollscheid - I would have liked to double up on Man U but thought it better to go for this game. Although Hull have improved, Stoke at home should have a good chance to keep a cleansheet.

Cazorla - has had such a solid run of games, picking up assists and goals regularly.

Silva & Aguero - too good to drop. Liverpool may be stronger defensively but the toughest team they've faced in their run of clean sheets was Soton (who don't score much).

Sterling - City don't look too strong defensively either. Can see Sterling keeping up his good form to nick a goal in a 1-2 loss (where Silva and Aguero score the two for Man C).

Moses - looks confident and has his shooting boots back. Never one to shy away from taking a shot. Could see him scoring against Hull.

Sakho - West Ham home to an attacking Crystal Palace. Good chance for goals here and he is nailed on.

Diouf - I know I know, tripling up on Stoke sounds crazy but if not at home vs Hull, then when?

    Krul

    Lescott , Wolly , Cresswell

Caz , Silva , Di Maria , Moses

    Rooney , Giroud , Aguero

Krul : A loss to Stoke at home last weekend suggests the Sherwood Revolution will take time
Lescott : Goal threat + Saints attack has been struggling Pelle woefully off form
Cresswell : Attacking threat + home game
Caz :: Pens , form . Everton awful
Silva : Impossible to ignore considering last game
Di Maria : Home to Sunderland and two assists in his last three
Moses : Hull at home looks promising and maybe on pens
Rooney : Possibility of starting up front and on pens with Van Persie out
Giroud : Home game vs Everton
Aguero : Too lazy to justify

    de gea (sun)

kosc (eve), Haidara (AVL), cresswell (cpl)

Cazorla (EVE), adm (mun), sanchez (eve), walters (HUL)

Sakho (CRY), Aguero (liv), cisse (avl)

De Gea - Sunderland have looked very poor in attack, even after the arrival of defoe. I feel his goals are going to dry up now. Also sunderland will be setup very defensively. Finally we have seen all this season de gea is the man that has saved man u and i believe he will be the man again.

Haidara - Newcastle against a very poor villa side. i cant see them getting anything. Haidara is nailed with dummet now out and has looked attacking...

kosc - has a goal threat, everton have looked so poor in attack and will be having a european hangover... kosc is also a goal threat. so could see him getting double figures.

Cresswell - at home and great assist and clean sheet potential.

Cazorla - has been on fire since the turn of the year and being on pens and always involved in the attacks, so offers assists and goals.

Adm- is almost always involved. yes man u have been poor, but i cant see man u having problems against sunderland. Despite man u being so poor he has averaged nearly 6 points a game. i think this will be the week di marie gets a serious point haul, i expect him to score and assist.

Sanchez - despite not being in the points in recent weeks, he was unlucky last week. But sanchez is now ready to fire and being fully fit, i expect him to be in the goals.

Walters - looks confident, i could see him doing to hull what he did to qpr a couple weeks back, if people cant remember he scored a hattrick. he is a goal poacher and will be in the goals

Sakho - West Ham home and nailed on with carrol out, sakho will be leading the line. he has scored a lot of goals already and i expect him to add to his tally this week against defensively poor palace.

Aguero- yes liverpool have looked more secure, but i believe they will not keep citys main man away.

Cisse - i think he will destroy villa this week, sherwood is an attacking minded manager and with vlaar out this week, i cant see villa holding any resistance. He is only second to aguero for minutes to goal ratio. i expect a brace from him this weekend.

I've found some new way to find out goalscorers and assisters, so I'm going to base my team around that

    Krul
    Clyne Trippier Tomkins
    Downing Sanchez Moses Silva
    Sakho Rooney Diouf

    Krul - villa won't score
Clyne - I want wba to keep a cs but I think southampton might fluke a goal
Trippier - Burnley very likely to score from the wing and crosses
Tomkins - very likely to score from a set piece
Downing - takes those set pieces
Sanchez - everton likely to concede from an individual error, form is temporary class is permanent
Moses - Hull struggle against skillful players, can see 3 goals for stoke in that game
Silva - Liverpool likely to concede from an error, silva will gobble up errors
Sakho - Looks in form again, good in the air
Rooney - on pens, at home, I think man united will have a very good game
    Giroud - don't want aguero/sturridge/diouf

This week looks like the week for differentials with many of the heavy hitters with a blank or will probably have a European hangover so here it goes:

    DDG

    Clyne Lescott Cresswell

    ADM Sanchez Walters Siggy

    Kun Cisse Ings

DDG: Plays Sunderland who can't score. Save points always on the table.

Clyne and Lescott. This game has 0-0 written all over it. Soton have score 1 in the last 4 games.

Creswell: Possible CS and good assist potential.

ADM: Starting to find form (fpl wise) and is due a goal.

Siggy: Due a goal. Burnley defense very leaky.

Walters: I am still not sure if he lost penalty duties. He is still capable of scoring the ugly goal and he hasn't scored for a while. I can't see Hull getting 3 good results in a row.

Sanchez: I'd say he is the most guaranteed to start out of the Arsenal players even after a European game. He is a beast full stop. He is not in great form but his home record is generally great. A player of his quality will not keep blanking for long.

Ings: He is unstoppable at the moment. On penalties. Burnley always score.

Cisse: Great goal per mins ratio. Villa are helpless at the moment.

Some of the popular picks I haven't considered are Rooney and Krul/Newcastle defense. I just don't trust LVG atm. Most think he will play Rooney up top but he can easily troll us and play Falcao and Wilson as he has done before. Also utd's play is so slow and un-penetrative. I don't see them winning a penalty especially that Sunderland will sit too deep.

As for Newcastle, they were completely dismantled by City. I don't see them getting a CS even against Villa who are more attacking now btw.

Didn't know that. Still he can play ADM up top. There have been many times where one of RVP and Falcao were injured and still Rooney played in midfield.

Interesting one this week. Fixtures in parantheses.

    -----------------------------------------De Gea (SUN)--------------------------------------
------------------------ Lescott (SOT) Creswell (CPL) Wollscheid (HUL)--------------------------
-------------------Sanchez (EVE) (BUR) Ozil (EVE) Di Maria (SUN) Walters (HUL)----------------
------------------------- Benteke (new) Ings (SWA) Aguero (liv) --------------------------

    TV: 82.4

GK: Man United are pretty woeful at the back, but Sunderland are pretty woeful going forward. Barring any horrendous slip ups, I fancy a clean sheet for Man United here.

DEF: Three home games. WBA vs SOT has 0-0 written all over it, but rather than double up I'm going to bank on the Pulis effect. Creswell has fantastic attacking stats and although this is a london derby, he could easily assist or get on the scoresheet himself even if Palace score. Hull are in OK form but I still fancy Stoke to keep it clean against the Tigers.

MID: Ozil was very close to teeing up Sanchez last week, and these two could run riot against an Everton side who have a woeful defensive record this year. Di Maria can't score, but keeps ticking over with those assists and Walters is back from injury and vying for a role up front. With penalties in his locker, I expect him to do well against Hull.

FWD: Tricky one this week. Ings is up against a Swanea team who may or may not turn up to turf moor. Either way, I see goals in this game. Benteke is a bit of a punt, but Newcastle are on the slide and I fancy Villa to win this one. Aguero is the best player in the league, and it would be madness to not include him even if Liverpool are on a fantastic run.

    Appreciate your votes friends!

Ok here's my attempt at this week's Scout Picks:

    Schmeichel (SUN H)
Adams (EVE H) Dicks (CPL H) Bernard (AVL H)
Beckham (SUN H) Robert (AVL H) Gerrard (MC H) Beattie (WBA A)
Yorke (SUN H) Shearer (AVL H) Henry (EVE H)

I think this team picks itself really and I can only see huge advances in your ranking to be had from achieving a team like this in this GW... reasons below:

Schmeichel - One of the best keepers to grace the Premier League, great shot stopper and should also achieve save points - I suspect with Bruce and Pallister in front of him Sunderland will be feeding off scraps and will have to resort to long shots which Schmeichel should save comfortably. Added bonus of if United are losing in final minutes he will come up for corners, we have seen the big man score before.

Adams - Remember 1998 when he scored the 4th goal at home to Everton to wrap up the league title for Arsene's side? That's what i'm thinking of here, he has great memories of this fixture and although not the most prolific he should gobble up those BP's. I can see a comfortable Arsenal win again.

Dicks - Quite simply he is a penalty taking defender for West Ham in a pretty nice fixture for them. Clean sheet and potential of goal bonus is always there with this player.

Bernard - Will be going quite top heavy with Newcastle players this GW which is a risk but I think it could pay off as i see them doing well against a hapless Villa who have the worst form so far this calendar year. Olivier Bernard loves playing with Laurent Robert down that left hand side and he will be sure to get those crosses in and maybe the odd long distance effort.

Beckham - A goal and assist machine at the moment, give United a free kick from outside the area and this man will have a chance of scoring it. Have gone for him over the likes of Scholes and Giggs as I just feel United will use their width in this game to get crosses in for the likes of Yorke and Cole to feed off and see Becks as capable of assisting a couple and scoring himself too.

Robert - As with above I love a player who takes a good free kick and Laurent Robert has been a fantasy sensation since joining Newcastle. He is a great outlet for the Magpies and just knicks it ahead of Nobby Solano for me here due to his corner and free kick duties.

Gerrard - One of the best box to box midfielders in the world and I just cannot leave him out. He can score from anywhere and you just know he will have his fair share of shots against this Man City defence who will have just come up against the likes of Rivaldo and co for Barca in midweek.

Beattie - I must say it's very hard for me to leave out Pires but due to price constraints and my want of having a very strong attacking trio I have gone for a more price friendly James Beattie. He is playing more up top for the Saints these days but is listed as a midfielder which always helps. West Brom are good defensively, however if the Saints are to score I can see an in form Beattie being involved. Has to be taken given his price an Oop prospects.

Yorke - Toss up really between him and Cole but will side with the man from Trinidad and Tobago this week. Call it gut or call it following the stats... he's had 5 more penalty box touches in the last 4 GW's than Cole and 2 more shots inside the area. Can see him and Cole ripping Sunderland's backline up here.

Shearer - What do I have to say about Shearer. He's a must have this week, the man just can't stop scoring and against a Villa side who have lost their best centre back through suspension, I would go as far to say he's my first player in the teamsheet this GW.

Henry - I really want an Arsenal player in this game as I can see them scoring at least two or three and what better player to pick than Thierry Henry? He has started to really find his form in recent weeks and looks like he could have a decent career at Arsenal if he continues in this vein... I fancy him to continue his form against Everton here.

First ever stab at this, thought I'd give it a shot, I found this team to be a good combination of both goals and assists. Great underlying stats for a few picks and some gut, though albeit calculated risks up top. Will explain all the picks in a later reply to this post, cheers in advance if you vote!

    DDG (SUN)
    Clyne(wba) | Cresswell(CRY) | Bellerin(EVE)
    Sanchez(EVE) | Moses(HUL) | Silva(liv) | Mane(wba)

Excuse the long explanations gents/ladies, it's why I excluded it from the OP. Read this at your own peril, as your eyes may look like 😯 soon after, proceed with caution.

DDG and Rooney, a great choice to hold the line this GW. United albeit their defensive stats aren't on either end of the spectrum, I'm confident DDG's ability to rack of saves and coupled with the fact that Sunderland have posed little threat of late inside the box will lead to a clean sheet. Rooney has to come to the forefront temporality for me, simply because of the latest injuries to both RvP and Wilson. In theory he's on pens now and on paper will have a more prominent role up top as both strikers are injured. One goal on target in 2015 yes, but from midfield, I'm certain Rooney has all the potential to deliver his points hauls of old up top.

Clyne and Mane top three in defenses for all the important defensive stats in the last four matches. These stats in tandem with the fact that Bertrand is fit to play and hopefully Toby as well, has a shutout written all over it. Westbrom also have posed little goal threat of late, and Clyne always poses goal threat down the right flank. Offensively Mane has been the go-to man for the Saints, seeing as Pelle has been low on confidence an unable to produce the goods. Seeing as Mane is fully rested after his benching last game, I think Mane is more than capable of being a menace against the slow backline they're facing. Great underlying stats as well fwiw.

Cresswell, always a good bet for attacking potential and I expect this to be a relatively open game. Palace's offense has been on the up, but these last few have really lacked any quality end product. The real eye opener for me has been Palace's tendency to lost aerial duels, having the second worst defense in that aspect of late. To counter that the Hammer have some of the best header in the league and it's shown having scored 15 goals from header this seasons. I expect Cresswell to exploit that flank this week with relative ease and is also coming off an assist against Spurs, the potential is there for a double figure haul easily this GW.

Sanchez, the main man in Sanchez has been in a rut of late producing neither an assist nor goal in the last three starts. That said, I'm certain the Chilean will return points against an error prone Everton backline. The high pressing Chilean is known to cause unforced errors and to back him, Everton have made 13 errors leading to a goal this season(6 more than anyone else).
He's still second or first for most key offensive stats for Arsenal, I think this will be an important match for Sanchez himself as he hasn't blanked yet this season 4 games in a row, and am certain we'll see a MotM from him this week.

Bellerin faces an incompetent Everton backline that has lowly Lukaku at the helm. They have some of the worst offensive stats in the last six, and still can't seem to have a reliable enough goalscorer to their name. He's the cheapest option into the Gunner's backline and they have been very solid over the last few. Bellerin has a good amount of goal threat to his name and is known to take on opponents down the flank to get his nifty cross in. It will be interesting to see how Baines will repel his threat down the right and will hopefully be caught out of position if he's given a more forward role this game. Either way, I can't see Lukaku or the penalty stealing Mirallas scoring this GW, Mert and Kosc will keep their incompetent offense at bay and the clean sheet is a good bet this week.

Silva and Aguero, ah the notorious, the scandalous, the wicked, the holier than thou, the goal scorers for one of the best offenses in the league. Silva is coming off one of his best performances in this PL career being directly involved in three goals for the first time. High on confidence and with great support in the midfield now with all of Nasri and YYT starting, I can see a pattern already starting for City as their high scoring affairs of old may come to the forefront at the end of the season with t. An important match vs Pool, Aguero has a had a tendency this season to better his his results away. He's always hungry for a goal and a match like this and with his morale high, I just can't see Pool keep him at bay, he'll be too much for Lovren and co.

Cisse, yes Papiss the immaculate. Stay with me here, as I can understand why you may withdraw. He may not have the best of stats on the table, but he's coming off a defeat at the Etihad and prior to that scored in his first after his long injury spell. He's Carver's saving grace in that frontline, and if there's one man in that matchup vs the Villains that has an immediate impact, it's Cisse. Whether he starts or not, he's proven this season he can score a brace in 30 minutes off the bench vs even the meanest defenses. Slowly coming to full fitness, I think Cisse will be back on our radar after this home bout and he's more than capable of double digit haul as a sub. This is one of the best fixtures on paper for Carver, IMO, Sherwood also seems to be impotent at the back and this could be a very interesting counter-attacking game for Cabella and Cisse to exploit.

Moses(20: 1-17), the recent flavor of the month and of the best options for this week given his fixture and apparently also penalties to his name now. Penalties or not, Moses is a great option this GW, always on the prowl for assists and goal as he's a great crosses. The creative outlet for the Potters, and I expect Moses and co to overwhelm Hull this GW, as Diouf is also coming off a goal. This could be a high scoring with great an in-form goal scorers on both sides. Good amount of underlying stats to suggest an upcoming haul as well, with a great balance of shots inside the box and chances created. IMO, Hull won't be able to keep their offense on the low, a brittle defense against an in-form offensive outfit with injuries in abundance at the back. Think the offenses will be prominent this GW for sure

In summary, I think this team is more than capable of outscoring the scouts this GW with a good balance of differential and core players to compliment the XI. I promise this team won't let you down! It has Rooney for Moses' sake!

Not convinced by Ameobi. If I wanted someone from Newcastle this week think it would be Cisse

    Here I go....

    De Gea

    Bertrand Clyne Lescott

    Di Maria Moses Sanchez Bolasie

    Rooney Sakho Aguero

    Total spend = 82.9m

De Gea - While I know United haven't been performing when it comes to clean sheets but I feel Sunderland is the game they can get one

Bertrand - We all know how well Southampton have been performing all season in defence. I don't see many clean sheets this week but Southampton are always a good bet. Bertrand to come back from suspension to start racking up the points!

Clyne - Same as above really. The Southampton double has worked well for me a lot this season, hope it continues.

Lescott - WBA are another team I can see getting a clean sheet this week. Southampton are struggling for goals and I fancy a 0-0 here

Di Maria - While in real footballing terms he hasn't been playing well he has been consistently scoring points through assists. I fancy that to continue against a poor Sunderland side

Moses - Do I need to say anything more than pens?

Sanchez - I almost opted for Giroud up front but decided to stay faithful to Alexis here. He's too good for his run to continue and after the Leicester game I fancy Arsenal to get a few against Everton

Bolasie - Palace are extremely attacking under Pardew. While West Ham are decent enough in defence I think there will be goals and Bolasie is going to be at the forefront of the points

Rooney - This is his week. Yes he hasn't been shooting much from midfield but with Wilson and RVP crocked he should be placed up front once again. He's also on pens and likely to be back in the points this week

Sakho - After a great start to the season he's back to scoring after his goal against Spurs at the weekend. I fancy him to add to his already impressive 8 goals this season in a match where there will be multiple goals

Aguero - In a week where there isn't many stand out picks I'd still bet on Aguero to at least nick a goal against Liverpool, despite their decent defensive form

Going to be pedantic here, but you have 3 defenders who have attacking threat playing against each other. May as well get fonte for bertie because of baps

I'd still rather go for the potential attacking threat. I do see your point though.

Not a fan of double Saints away from home . Berahino will cause them problems . Sanchez is off form and I think Caz and ADM will work better

Agreed that he's doing well at the moment but Liverpool not the best fixture. Feel ADM and Sanchez will outscore him this week.
