The gurus behind the Metro Game have recently sent us word that they ventured into the realm of Ipod apps, handing those multi-tasking Fantasy Managers the opportunity to play tinkerman on the move.

Over pre-season we had a look at the game in great depth and when it comes to gameplay this is just more of the same, unsurprisingly given that it’s the same game built directly for the on-the-go iPhone user.

The interface is incredibly smooth and allows you to do everything you can do on your laptop or desktop PC with just as much, if not more, ease; whether it be making that urgent transfer while you’re being dragged around H&M by the other half, or following the action via the live scoring as the points roll in.

If you’re serious about the challenge for that £15,000 first prize (I’ve already had the survey done on a new extension) – or maybe “just” even the iPad on offer for topping the Fantasy Football Scout league, then the 59p outlay of this app looks worth a punt.

I'm thinking Torres/Nzog/Malouda out for Berba/Arteta/Fabregas. The way I see it I don't see first 3 being worth more than 4-8 points this weekend, so I would need the last 3 to score 16+ for it to make sense. I would be captaining Fab, so see me scoring more points overall by changing all 3. Am I mad for thinking about an 8 pt hit with only one injury problem?!

It could pay off, but it's a gamble, as I'm sure you're aware.

Personally, I think Chelsea might possibly destroy Aston VIlla, even though they are away. Would be gutting for you if Malouda is involved.

But aye, you don't get anywhere without taking these sorts of gambles.

Figured it could be worth a shot given upcoming fixtures for all of them as well as this gwk. Might be in a fairly decent spot to do it with small lead at top of my mini leagues too... Definitely a gamble though!

Also allows me to get rid of Etuhu/sort out my bench a week sooner. Hmmmm, one to ponder...

Andy Carroll, the saint - he never gets carded ever, does he?

Come on, seriously, how much had you seen (or heard) of Andy Carroll before this season? He's a promising striker; it doesn't just suddenly mean we have to go and call up every young player because we didn't do well (shock!) in a World Cup. It's a trickle, and it takes time.

Davies is a good striker, and given the injuries, has rightfully deserved his call-up.

I deliberately said 'extra' meaning Davies gets more, I know Carroll got a lot of yellow cards in the championship last year.

Quite a lot actually, my uncle is a Newcastle fan and he spoke of him as if he's some sort of god.

I know Davies is a good striker and maybe he did deserve the call up, but I just think it's a bit late now, and hypocritical. (if that's the right word)

                Last season's stats:

Kevin Davies got 9 yellow cards in 37 games, Andy Carroll got 9 yellow cards in 33 games. I wouldn't call that extra.

He's not some sort of god, he's not the messiah (he's a very naughty boy!), he is a good young striker who works well at Newcastle who didn't even get called up to the under 21's who everyone is getting a bit carried away by.

                It's not hypocritical.

Davies deserved a chance and will be long gone again when everyone else is fit.

Right maybe not extra, but I still think it would be better to include him in the squad, for experience and all that, ahead of Davies.

I agree that Davies is a quality striker but I just don't think it's that worthwile him there.

Thats a bit patronizing Andy, not everyone needs their knowledge spoon fed to them, most will know all about Carroll from his spell under Shearer to his fight with NZogbia to his successful year in the Championship.

He made a good point, after the debacle of the WC Capello pledged to build for the future, there is nothing that Davies does that Carroll can't, that is his point, neither are what you would call essential so why go for the 33 year old?

It's obvious that Capello said what the public needed to hear after the WC but he's done the opposite.

Kevin Davies isn't dead, he's 33, and he's a good striker who's worked tirelessly over the years and deserved the reward of a call-up and the (very small) chance to stake his claim.

You don't just call up someone because they're younger, Davies got his there on merit alone. And is just rewards, Carroll has plenty of time to make amends in the many years ahead.

What do you call them up for then?

Because there is no one left to call up who ain't young and because Heskey didn't want to know?

Davies is decent for Bolton, he is not International quality so where is the gain of including him at this late stage in his career when the promising kids need to be blooded?

God help the manager after Capello, he will be left with a shambles.

          Yeah I get ya and I'm playing devils advocate here. Perhaps the idea is once they cut inside they can whip it in curling towards goal rather than curling away. Or instead of crossing the ball they can cut inside to the edge of the area and crack off a shot, kind of Robben-esque;

Yeah drop him for England vs France on Nov 17th, give him a kick up the jacksie to bring him back to the world of football instead of divorce lawyers, so he can crucify Wales in March.

Looks like he doesn't give a sh*t. But considering the attitude of most england fans towards him, i'm not surprised.

I'm not really bothered by his england performances, England will still qualify with ease then play like rubbish in the tournament. It's his Utd form that worries me. I certainly wouldn't put him in for WBA, but we'll continue to cheer him on non the less.

He needs a break from football to get his head sorted - just needs to be dropped for a couple of weeks.

+1 if he gave a shit the fans wouldn't get on his back, Cole was gettin shit for a long time and still does but he always performs at least decent and gives it his all for his country when he could have feasbiliy sacked it off.

Ok bored of this Cr@p England game. Back to Wildcard transfers:

    1 or 2?

1: CAshley, Coleman, Albrighton, Etherington, Odem, Tevez, 2.1 in the bank
2: Kolarov, Simpson, Fabregas, Adam, Varney, Berbatov, 0.0 in the bank

Set B is trying to get Fab in without compromising too much elsewhere.
Rest of team is Drogba, Nani, Malouda, VDV, Alcarez, Jara, Elmo
