Wow, I haven't seen fixtures as bad as West Ham's... Tough opponents until Boxing day.
Open ControlsA. Bale or Cazorla?
B. Silva or Mata?
Discuss.Open ControlsEh? Why not Silva AND Mata?
I'd say Mata, Silva, Bale, Cazorla in that order.Open Controls
Here my team, could i have some opinions on my team. what i may need to do.
Bego
riise - demel - rafeal
cazorla - HBA - michu - fellaini
RVP - tevez - berba
i am thinking to transfer out clyne and wilson. maybe i could do just wilson and not take a hit. HBA is a possible transfer also...wilson and HBA maybe.....?
no idea, who i will (or can) bring in though.Open Controlsevening guys, i dont post very often but like many on here i am truly obsessed with all things fantasy football 😛 anyway i in no way want this to come over as conceited or gloating heaven forbid but at this stage in fpl 2011/12 i had had my worse ever start with an all time low rank of 1.9 million in the world and all that after winning my mini league at a canter the year befor. Fast forward to the same gameweek this year and well what can i say, a weekly score of 82 with no hit and a gameweek rank of 2078 (quite possibly my highest ever) and a big green arrow up to 7099 makes it a good start over the 1st qtr of the season.......but what a difference from last year 😯 i put down mainly to (as far as i can make out) patience with my signings & not kneejerking. patience in particular with felliani, jelavic and now berba has really made my season so far. my point is i suppose its as much about not taking out the guys that burn you with missed scores than it is about the lucky new must have pick 🙂
Open ControlsThe game is proving easier this year. Pick between Mata, RVP, Nolan, Michu, Fellaini, Berbatov, Ba, Suarez, Ivanovic, West Brom gk/def, Stoke gk/def, and you will have been handsomely rewarded, consistently.
Open Controlshaha maybe TS would point to me being a sorta flat track bully and struggling when the game is harder 😆
Open Controls😉
It's certainly trickier this year to let players go. Even if Michu was to serve a 1 match ban, I'd struggle to replace him and his returns for 6.5 - 7m. Looking at my front 8, I only have Taarabt I'd happily consider transferring out. If I was to pick any Arsenal mid, then it would probably be Walcott now, over Cazorla, so he's on shaky ground too.
We need the likes of Man City, and some of the big hitters (Bale, Hazard, Silva) to come alive to shake things up a bit!Open Controls+1 on silva ive not had city cover since wk 4 (i think) and some light blue steady mins and points would come in very handy right now
Open Controls
Was pondering about this already as I'm still not over the whole fiasco with Hazard/Mata/Bale taking turns to shine. Great post imo, inspirational stuff!
Open ControlsGood lad, top rank! sound advice on sticking by your man, getting rid off Bale and Mata early on hurt my rank badly, I wont be doing it again anytime soon.
Open Controlsit is so easy to do my best mate and close rival got rid of berba on friday for ba when i was so so so close to doin exactly that cheers gob
Open Controls
I agree and like you I'm experiencing my best ever season so far. Although I have kept faith with the likes of Pienaar and Caz since GW1 now is the time to sell. Both have been adversely affected by changes in formation and the rise (or fall) of other players in their teams. Yes it is equally important to make good decisions by not kneejerking out some players but you must also recognize the correct time to sell on and buy other players.
Open Controlsthat last sentence resonates a little really am wondering exactly that with nolan at present, another one of my rivals has him and he'd be a problem if i got rid too early 😕
Open Controls
2FT, caz to silva, or ba to berba or both?
CheersOpen Controlsjust did routledge and tevez out for fellaini and berbatov
-4 hitOpen ControlsHas anyone taken Cazorla out for a hit or thinking about it?
Open Controlslooks like there's going to be a few 0.2-0.3 rises this week.
Open ControlsI'm going to think about who to get rid of, Cazorla or Bale.
I do want both Mata and Silva in my side, but I'd be reluctant to remove Bale as a lot of Spurs' attacking impulses go through him. Cazorla, on the other hand, is playing rather deep and I don't think he's in the same league as the others unfortunately - but he does offer better fixtures.
It'll be interesting, I'll have a look at the stats of both Mata and Silva to see which one offers the better potential.
Otherwise, happy with how things are going.Open ControlsToday Bale was a ghost on the left wing, spent most of the game tracking back trying to mop up after vert left acres of space in behind. I'm looking forward to BAE returning from injury. Silva's key passes today were off the chart, Mata's set piece delivery is so dangerous though. If I had to rank them in fantasy terms it would be.
Mata
Silva
Bale
Cazorla.Open ControlsI still like Bale the best of all four. Goals are king in FPL because it's so hard to get bonus without them and I believe he carries the biggest goal threat. I rank them Bale, Mata, Silva, Cazorla.
Open Controlsbale will get you a fair amount of 2's imo but can be devestating its such a close call on him but 1 goal in 4 or 5 i think is no where near enough for a premium goal scoring mid so he went last week for tony v
i see cazorla as a sorta silva returns kinda guy with the only problem the players who he's passing to not having great form maybe now with podolski and giroud finding their feet its cazorla who you should keep and give the welshman the bootOpen Controls
Which combo is better: Michu + Tevez or Silva + Berbatov? Can't decide.
Open ControlsThoughts on my xfer plans for the next 2 weeks
Cazorla>Walcott (waiting on news of course)
Tevez>Aguero(Can only see one no1 striker at city)
Sagna>Shawcross (arsenal defense is balls)
leaves me with

considering what to do this week. team does look set to go for the next weekend but I am considering one of these changes to anticipate apparent changes in players form
a) caz and tevez out, aguero and fellaini in
b) caz and tevez out, silva and giroud in (+1.0)
either would be for a 4pt hit. what do you, my esteemed ffs posters think of these changes? i could alternatively save my transfer and leave it a week to ponderOpen ControlsA for sure.
Open Controlsneither for a hit, caz to felalini only if for free. Aguero will not start at Villa
Open Controlswhys that?
Open ControlsWhy wouldnt he start? He is obviously no1 striker
Open ControlsHe is playing in the in Saudi Arabia (i think) in mid week then there is the Villa game at the weekend, then a must win Champs league game a few days later against madrid.
In comparison Tevez doesn't play for Argentina these days and went off earliest today, coupled with Balotelli being rested, and his prolific record against Villa, I really think Aguero will start on the bench.
I fully agree he is the top striker, that is why he will not play.Open Controls
Got 2 FT
Torres and Caz out
Suarez and Silva in
Do it??Open ControlsSo Suarez is starting to look like the FPL prospect we all thought he was going to be at the start of last year. I think the only possible way to bring him in would be Ivan > Rafael, Bale > Walcott & Ba >Suarez.
Wouldn't do it for a hit but maybe spread it out over a couple of weeks?Open ControlsHe'll be suspended by then 😀
Open Controlsthat would be the best thing to do. that way, you can also see how walcott does, and see if suarez get's his 5th yellow or not
Open ControlsI'm waiting for his ban before considering, happy with my current strikeforce. Ba, Berb and Suarez should alll get similar points this week.
Open ControlsBa has gone off a little recently though. Fingers crossed he can step up again.
Open Controls
If this team doesn't get me a green arrow next week I'll be close to quitting this game.
Begovic(whu)
Cameron(whu), Evans(nor), Rafael(nor)
Fellaini(rea), Bale(ars), Mata(wba), Sterling(WIG)
RVP(nor)(c), Ba(SWA), Tevez(AVL)
Subs: McAnuff, Gorkss, CuellarOpen ControlsLiverpool fan, so I say this with some bias.
Suarez has being better then RVP so far *this* (explanation point!) season.
At United, RVP is getting great service. He also creates.
Suarez is the spark, engine and finisher of all things in Liverpool's attack. He even tracks back to boot.
He may not be as clinical, but he has a spark of genius around him. And madness.Open ControlsYeah yeah...RVP will score a hat trick and Suarez will get a yellow and we'll be back to square one again. 😉
Open Controls"... not as clinical..."
Fair play to you that your happy with him.Open Controls*you're*
Open Controls
Are you Forca in disguise? 😉
Open ControlsYou basically explained why a comparison between the two wasn't possible, then made a comparison between the two.
Open ControlsThere is always going to be players in worse off teams, we still compare them. Two different styles, but at the end of the day, both forwards and comparable.
Open ControlsSo your're saying that you can make fair comparisons between (for example) the likes of Rooney/Denis Bergkamp/Del Piero and Huntelaar/Inzaghi/Bent. I disagree, some are more 'strikers', and others 'second strikers'. Both are forwards, but completely different types of player with different jobs, and straightforward comparisons cannot be made. For example, Suarez + Huntelaar is much better than Suarez + Suarez, or Huntelaar + Huntelaar.
Open ControlsI get your point, and making straightforward comparisons in a game based on individuals is difficult, but at the end of the day they all play on a field of grass and like most people in every career are rated on a basis of performance to date and potential.
Obviously in some contexts, a player with particular attributes who may be a "lesser" player will be the better option for the team.Open Controls
The scary thing about RVP is he doesn't even need to be the engine or the spark. He simply scores when he wants and doesn't even need to be in a game to suddenly do something spectacular. Suarez needs to run around like a headless chicken and shoot 5 times before he gets anywhere near the target most times. And the other thing is RVP has more to his game. He can cross and he can hold up the ball and his positioning is next to none.
I won't bore you any further though about why he is better than Suarez. 😀Open ControlsBoth players clearly have aspects they do better then the other, RVP finishing, passes and set pieces etc. Suarez dribbling and quickness.
And Suarez ain't a glass cannon 😉
Funny enough, Internationally Suarez is the more successful to date.
I should stress, I think *this* season so far Suarez has being better.Open Controls
wonder how it could be when suarez play for man u and rvp for liverpool..suarez hatrick every game??
Open Controls
just done caz>silva, tev>giroud and nolan to the fellan for an 8 point hit. i know i'm mental but it just feels like the right time. that and i just went top of my mini league this gw and am ahead by 9points and i think i'v sealed the fate of my rivals with this one, touch wood. am i mental after having a 71gws?
Open Controlsthats what i thought... the thing is i had a similar feeling to do 3tranys earlier in the season but i listened to the genral concensus on here which was not to and it bit me hard. went with the gut this time

really wanna find a strong startign 11 for week 12, and not take a hit so i can do really well in my league next week!!
advice please!!Open Controlsbego - mcCarthy
baines - saylor - kolarov - gorkss - nelsen
mata - bale - santi - sterling - kaca
ba - Rvp - jelly
1FT, 0.6 in the bank
transfers i'm looking at:-
a kolarov > rafa
b) santi > fellaini & jelly > suarez/tevez (4pt hit)
c) santi > silva & jelly > berba (4pt hit)
d) different combo of trannies but still getting a few names mentioned above.
please help.Open ControlsI would do C. Berba will rise significantly this week and Silva will be rising consistently both in form and price.
Open Controls
Ended up doing it... finally got it out of the way... here's what I'm left with...
Begovic 4m
Baines Wisdom Cameron Cuellar Gorkss
Silva Mata Fellaini Nolan Sterling
RVP Suarez Berbatov
Nolan is in until Stoke at least, we'll see what happens after that... and he seems unbelievable value to me, almost fixture proof...
Thoughts?Open ControlsNice, so you're jumping on board the Silva wagon...I like it 😀
Maybe go Gazzaniga for the 4m guy? Boruc seems to have offended the saints fans and Davis doesn't look like he'll get back in the side.Open ControlsI've gone for Tremmel, since if he's still playing has favourable home matches when Bego doesn't in GW21 and 23...
Like I said before this week began, it was a season defining week for me... my team was set up and primed for a good score this week... and it didn't... so I have to change it...
Lambert assist just doesn't cut it... Ba just hasn't done it, Pienaar just wasn't involved enough... I feel it was the right time...
Lack of Arsenal is a problem for me... I want Walcott.Open ControlsYou could always get Giroud for Arsenal cover when Suarez gets his suspension. Obviously doesn't sound that appealing but he's up front for Arsenal every game and he's gathering form. Personally I don't really want to go near Suarez but may live to regret it. But I think I can live with it.
Open Controls
Newcastle fixtures look great.. Who are your other 2 strikers?
Open ControlsI know that's what i'm worried about but Utds aren't bad either dont you think?
Suarez and BerbOpen ControlsWoah.. both look fantastic. RVP does have the chance of exploding and i like the idea of getting him but at the expense of Bale AND a 4 point hit. Tad too much to take :\
Open Controlsyea getting rid of Bale worries me abit, have Cazorla but don't have enough to ship him out.. i think even for a 4pt hit RVP should be worth it especially with their fixtures, where as Spurs' aren't the best!
Open Controls
Bego | Foster
Demel | Baines | Rafael | Hughes | Nelsen
Bale | Cazorla | Peanut | Morrison | Sterling
Berba | RVP | Lambert
2FT with 1.7 in bank. Wonder if it is worth doing Peanut to Fellaini just before the price rise. Any thought? Waste of transfer?Open Controlsworth it, i'm stuck with pienaar and hoping fellaini gets his 5th yellow next game!
Open Controls
Begovic
Baines Rafael Gorkss
Mata Cazorla Bale Michu
Berba RVP Ba
Foster Nelsen Davies Puncheon
I have 2 FT and 0.0 left in bank.
Cazorla->Fellaini before price rise or hold it first?Open ControlsI think it's a case of international friendlyitis.
