Suspensions

The Suspension Tightrope – Rash

A couple of midfield protagonists are set to sit on the sidelines after accruing their fifth booking of the season last weekend. Paul Scholes and Mark Noble will both miss out as West Ham travel to Old Trafford on Wednesday evening, with the latter’s absence particularly sore for his side, given he has started every league game so far for the Hammers.

The tightrope welcomes two new contenders after the weekend’s round of matches. Cheick Tiote may have been injured for much of the season but his penchant for picking up yellows remains unquenched – the Ivorian’s caution at St Mary’s yesterday take his tally to four yellows in all competitions ahead of Newcastle’s trip to Stoke on Wednesday. Wigan’s James McArthur fell foul of the ref in his side’s 3-2 win over Reading on Saturday and now balances precariously as the Latics prepare to welcome City to the DW.

Luis Suarez and Michu continue to avoid that fifth yellow which would earn them an automatic ban. With three strong home games in the next five, Suarez looks primed for significant Fantasy attention once again; his owners will be crossing their fingers he stays out of the ref’s notebook against Spurs on Wednesday, bearing in mind he then plays host to Southampton at the weekend.

Those players on four yellows have until New Year until the five-card amnesty kicks in. Basically, if they can avoid another booking in this calendar year, they will then be exempt from the customary one-match ban and receive no more than a warning regarding their future conduct. The limit then moves to 10 yellows, which would earn the guilty party a two-match ban. Most culpable so far are Ahmed El Ahmadi, Craig Gardner and Angel Rangel, who lead the way on six yellow cards apiece.

Having served out a one-match ban in Everton’s draw with Norwich, Marouane Fellaini is available for selection as the Toffees host Arsenal, while Fabricio Coloccini will be welcomed back by Alan Pardew as injury-hit Newcastle make their way to Stoke.

Brede Hangeland and Emmanuel Adebayor are both set to skip the second match of their respective three-game bans this midweek.

What do people think of Baines in, Cuellar out?
    This then lets me do
    Suarez in, Ba out.

Then next week I can work out how to get some Spurs coverage into the team.

    Team for this week is:

    Mignolet
    Cuellar Rafael Cameron
    Bale Mata Silva Nolan
    Rvp Ba Berbatov

    Begovic Sterling Gorkks Nelsen

Considering taking out Ba but not sure who for

Repost, stuck on bottom of last page:
    A) Ba to Suarez for free
    B) Ba to Suaraz and Nolan to Puncheon (-4)

Also, is Nastasic nailed on? Was thinking of getting him and Enrique next GW

Id stick with A. Every chance given Utds defence that he could get something.

Nastasic should be as long as Lescott keeps having this trouble with his back.

The way I see it Sterling is too expensive for a 5th mid now. (I could sell him for 5.2). Do I promote him and think of him as my 4th mid, sell Morrison for a real cheap mid, and get aguero in for Ba soon. Or, downgrade sterling and get Suarez for Ba.

    Essentially,

    A. Sterling, Aguero
    B. Morrison, Suarez

How long would we expect Nastasic to keep his place. He was completely off my radar, but I see he's played recently.

No transfers this week. Going into GW14 with Ba and Berbatov. Ugly. It will blatantly pay off.

I'm not knee-jerking them out either. It's looking grim at the moment but it's not like they will simply stop scoring or getting chances. plus Newcastle should improve over the next 2.

Got 2 FT this week, really struggling to know what to do (been out of the loop for a while)

    Jaask, Begovic,
    Baines, Rafeal, Gorkss, Nelsen, Demel
    Bale, Mata, Fellaini, Pienaar, Sterling
    Suarez, RVP, Berb

    0.3 in the bank.

I’m thinking Sessengnon could be a shout, would mean downgrading Jaask though. Any other suggestions?

See below. I'm contemplating on cashing out on Jaask as well. I think Sess is a pretty great shout tbh. I don't have enough cash to swing it so I'm opting for Ramirez. Maybe Pienaar > AJ or Ramirez if you want to keep Jussi.

So it seems I can pretty much confidently play Begovic right through to the January wildcard. I'm thinking its time to cash out on Jussi. Thinking of doing the following:

    Jussi and McAnuff OUT
    Gazzaniga and Ramirez IN

Gazzaniga will barely play but has good fixtures in the rare chance I'll need him. Getting in Ramirez to rotate with Sterling works out perfectly. Will give me a midfield of Mata - Bale - Silva - Ramirez - Sterling

    No brainer right? 😉

I was looking at Gazzaniga or Tremmel? Rotation is horrible with stoke though.

Not really bothered by rotation because I'll play Begovic on most weeks regardless.

    Current team is

    Begovic, (Jussi)
    Rafael, Cuellar, Sagna, (Bennett, Hughes)
    Bale, Cazorla, Michu, Pienaar, (Maloney)
    RVP (c), Berbatov, Pogrebnyak

70 points behind my ML leader now and 3 consecutive red arrows....

I'm currently thinking of saving my free transfer and doing Cazorla>6.2m mid & Pog>Suarez

Any ideas? At least 4 players i need to get rid of really....

So all in all how do you think United will line up with Anderson apparently starting, Hernandez pushing for a start and Valencia a doubt?

If Valencia makes it (he's a tough cookie, wouldn't be surprised) I see:

    A)
    ----------------------------RVP
    --------------------------Rooney
    Young Anderson Fletcher/Carrick/Cleverley Valencia
    ---------------------------Defence

If he doesn't United could play the above with Young on the right and Powell/Giggs on the left though it would not be ideal. The alternative would be the return of the diamond that SAF stopped playing after a pensioner complained about it.

    B)
    ----------------RVP----------Hernandez
    ----------------------Rooney
    -------------Cleverley----Anderson
    -----------------------Fletcher
    ----------------------Defence

I think A is better for RVP and Rooney and am hoping that's what transpires.

      Team will be:

      De Gea
      Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
      Cleverley Anderson Carrick
      Rooney
      RvP Welbeck

There's a chance Rafael's rested for Jones. There's a chance we'll see Fletcher instead of Cleverley but I doubt it.

Chicharito to come off the bench of course. Nani MIGHT be on the bench as well.

Most likely. He was impressive vs Sunderland so maybe someone else might make way? Not sure who though. But historically, yes, he's the one who misses out.
