Having analysed the stand out Fantasy performers over the past few fixtures in our recent articles for members, we  turn our attentions to team data this time round.  In the first instalment of a two-part series, we look at Attacking intent across the last six Gameweeks, assessing the key statistics available in our  members section:

This partner craic sounds lovely.ok I.ll play too.i.m 6ft tall blue eyes.capricorn likes taking walks and aranging flowers. Call me
Open ControlsI think Messi is more effective but I prefer Ronaldo.
How's that for fence sitting?Open ControlsLike saying, I love Juan Mata as a player and I think Eden Hazard will be the top scoring mid so I'll get Ramires instead 😉
Open Controls- Open Controls
how do you define more effective?
and why do you prefer ronaldo?
morning Light knight!Open ControlsMorning!! Hows it going?
More effective= More clinical when setting up and scoring chances when he has the opportunity, ie his cutting inside has become quite predictable yet he is still ruthlessly difficult to stop
I prefer CR7 due to his explosiveness and I always have a thing for players with that extra physical edge.Open Controls
Are we all having fun? 😀
Open ControlsCan we please have an article on who is better, CR7 or Messi?
Open ControlsThe internet doesn't have enough room for an argument like that... 🙂
Open ControlsBale is better than both.
Open ControlsCR7 😉
Open ControlsRonaldo hasn't made it into the Mister Men, case closed.

neil young called. he wants his song title back

Messi is undoubtedly great, but i do not think having an opinion that he is not better than Ronaldo is an opinion worth 'LOL'ing at. Shows over lads.
Pass the popcorn.Open ControlsDo we think Wilson will play against Fulham?
Open Controlsuntil we die, none of us here will whitness a player half the magnitude and ability of messi.
no debate, by far the greatest player ever to play this game wins or not a world cup makes no difference
it is entertnainment watching him, u dont get this feeling watching any other player and thus no coincidence all other footballers say that he is the greatest playerOpen ControlsNice grav.

I'm sure there will be players as good if not better than Messi in my lifetime.

Morning all, ready for part 2 of the Liverpool DGW failure?
Open ControlsLR, I'm not having a go...but the argument that Messi still hasn't proved himself on a rainy night at the Brittania is a long running joke. Pele never played in the PL, Maradona never played in the PL. But I bet you would never use these arguments against them.
The fact that Ronaldo played in the PL is just how his career panned out. He was scouted/spotted at a young age and snapped up by a big English team. Messi just so happened to be snapped up by another big team and luckily for him they were already a brilliant team (unlike Sporting Lisbon) so he never had to move to achieve everything he wanted to achieve. And let's not forget Messi originally played for Newell's Old boys in Argentina so in the same way he was snapped up at a young age. The difference is Messi stayed loyal to his team and has helped make them arguably the best team in the history of football. Ronaldo was bought by Madrid for an outrageous amount of money so they could compete in the league and the champions league again. To some extent it has worked but Barcelona are still miles better at the moment.
No hard feelings but you're biased.Open ControlsTrue, nonetheless.
Open ControlsI'm not having a go, but... *Starts having a go*
Open ControlsBarcelona are miles better, no disagreement to that. Ronnie still won them the league last season.
Their 3 midfielders have won the last 3 MAJOR International tournaments. Whatever you have said doesn't establish that Messi > Ronnie. That is all.Open ControlsI usually don't watch RM play. But by the look of first leg against United. Bercelona is way much better as a team than RM. United actually played much more comfortable than they played against Bercelona last few years.
Open ControlsBut this is nothing to do with the fact that who is better?
IMO, Ronaldo is more of a complete player.Open Controls

hard to believe thisOpen Controls
first off you can't really call messi an out and out striker as he often drops into midfield to collect the ball or link up play
second, if you put ronaldo in barca i don't think he'd do as well as he'd hold onto the ball too much and do 50 stepovers getting nowhere, where as messi plays quick 1-2's with teammates to set himself or them up on goal
messi is a great passer creates a lot more goals for teammates than ronaldo does
i think he also creates a lot more goals from him for himself. think of all the solo goals he has
on the topic of national teams:
a) portugal is set up to feed ronaldo the ball whereas argentina is not set up around messi as they have lots of other stars who desire the ball too such as tevez aguero di maria higuain, pastore, etc
b) argentina has poor chemistry and lots of egos to deal with
c) maradona was an awful coach
d) messi just tied the argentina national team record for goals in a year in 2012Open ControlsWell,
Then Ronaldo is also a striker? Ronaldo also defends when RM or Portugal concedes corners.
Messi has such ability?Open Controls
love it when people say that a player needs to produce it on the world stage to earn recognition as the best player of his, or any generation. nationality is a frickin accident of birth. god i hope that san marino produces a player who defies the laws of physics, then when they fail to make it to a world cup cos his team mates are butchers, bakers and candlestick-makers, peeps will dismiss his qualifications
Open ControlsGeorge best and Ryan Giggs agree...
Open ControlsHas Giggs gone to Heaven already??? 😯
Open Controls
I disagree with people trying to suggest Messi isn't the best as he's not won the world cup yet, utter bullshit.
However, some of the people here are simply trying to make the point that the reason Messi has a superior record to Ronaldo is his Barca teammates.Open ControlsWhy i saw this is because Argentina and Portugal have comparable teams. Argentina is probably better on paper even. Ronaldo or Messi do not play for India.
And my point is why is Messi better than Ronaldo? No one has a convincing argument, i am sorry.Open ControlsWorst argument someone can make...trophies etc. Those are team achievements. Yes individual greatness helps, but it's not the only thing that leads to success.
Open Controls+1000000
Preach, my brotherOpen ControlsIt maybe. But Shirley the best should be able to win with the likes of butchers, bakers and candlestick-makers. If not then maybe we need to look a bit further back up the pitch. It certainly doesn't hurt when you have butchers like Xavi and Iniesta that can carve up teams at club and country levels...
Open Controls
Iniesta, now, on the other hand ... 😀
Open ControlsThank God! 😆

@epicfail sorry keep getting distracted, I'm up for the doubles comp lets do it. Do we need to come up wi a witty name?
Open ControlsI have been watching the Messi v Ronaldo discussion with interest. It's such an emotive issue that I feel there must be an objective way to resolve it, and I have a proposal to make. Why not hold a vote every year to decide the world's top footballer? We could give votes to recognised football experts, for example international captains and coaches. Surely whoever won such a vote could undisputably be called the world's best footballer.
