Sky Sports Focus

Proceedings took another dramatic twist at the top of the Sky Sports rankings, as Fantasy Football Scout’s contender took a tumble in his battle for the overall prize. We take a look at the landscape going into the final day, whilst assessing how the transfer market is shaping up before popping in to check on tonight’s episode of the Fantasy Football Club.

The Scout League

Chris Pearce’s campaign for the overall Sky Sports prize took a huge blow in the week as a three point gap widened to a full 30 points following Tuesday’s clashes. With Santi Cazorla contributing a mammoth 19 points, we can only presume that leader Simon Ward had the Spaniard in his lineup, perhaps even as captain, for Arsenal’s 4-1 demolition of Wigan. That leaves Chris with the Scout League firmly in his grasp but facing a “do or die” final Gameweek in which he surely has to take a punt with his armband choice and hope for the best.

Chris leads the Scout League by 46 points ahead of Paul McAnulty’s “Housewives Favourite” lineup, while Pascal Evans’ “Covport” remains in third spot. Those three are included in the overall top five in the game, emphasising the level of competition in the Scout League this season.

Neil Fleeson’s “Roumeli Rangers” rank fourth in our league, ninth overall, while Terry O’Callaghan has lept back into our top five with his “Cosmic Raiders” squad – Terry sits in 13th overall.

Fantasy Football Scout lead the Private League rankings by 30 points going into the final weekend – a superb showing in our first season supporting the game.

It’s not too late to join our ranks: you can still sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519.

Market Trends

With three goals in his last three matches, it’s Theo Walcott who has been the hot property this week. The Gunners’ flyer has been brought in as part of 8% of the trades made as Fantasy managers look to repair their midfields after recent injuries and suspensions. Interest in Gareth Bale also remains buoyant – like Walcott, he still has everything to play for on the final day and over 6% of transfers this week have seen the Welshman’s services acquired.

Both Philippe Coutinho and Marouane Fellaini are amongst the top five players brought in over the past seven days, as squads continue to shed the injured Steven Gerrard. The Liverpool skipper has made up almost 12% of the transfers out taking place. Strangely, folk are also still shedding Swansea’s Michu, with over 11% of transfers seeing the Spaniard sold on – having scored at Old Trafford and with a strong fixture against Fulham on Sunday, Michu has suddenly become a decent differential option for the final Gameweek.

Despite his hat-trick last time out and an obliging home fixture with QPR on Sunday, Daniel Sturridge has only been brought in as part of 6% of the transfers made this week, with Sky Sports managers perhaps settled on their forward lines and pressed to make changes in other positions. Bizarrely, then, with just over 3% ownership in the game, Sturridge will face QPR as a ready-made differential captain choice for those looking to bridge a gap.

The Fantasy Football Club – Tonight 7pm

Dwight Yorke takes his place in the Fantasy Football Club forward line in tonight’s episode, while Champions Leauge winner, Paulo Sousa, will be stiffening up the midfield. Fenners and Merse kicked-off at 7pm tonight but, if you missed out on that, you can catch the re-run on Sky Sports two from 9.30 tomorrow morning.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I had mostly cheap defenders early and expensive later in the season, and both worked. Especially toward the end I had several week saved by the likes of Baines and Luiz. But I never has more than two pricey defenders. I think next season I will do one high-priced def early on, and when my tv gets good I will move to two.

Begovic being so underpriced ment that until I had the luxury of big team value I didn't rely need a big gk

Definitely going with cheap GKs and defenders early of the season. When the big teams' defense get tighten up, then I will go for some expensive one. Or maybe get some average priced defenders, like Enrique this season.

If he's got RVP and you've got Defoe who doesn't play, your other players will have to make up even more points on your rival.

If you're 30 points behind, you really need to captain your best option that he hasn't got and hope for the best.

Can't see the point for a half time clean sheet if I'm honest, nor do I see recovered balls being added.
Nor do I see them changing the bonus system to benefit defenders.
      It's a shame, but I don't think it'll change.
But at the same time, the game is relatively perfect as it is, bonus assignment aside.

I have walcott, bale, sturridge - my opponent is 10pts ahead and doesnt but is likely to bring in sturridge (c).

Should I therefore avoid Sturridge (c)?

Thanks - I tend to agree with XA45272/torrres, think I have a better chance captaining sturridge and having confidence that even if he has the same i'll make up the difference elsewhere.

I've clawed back a 105pt lead against him to 10 points in 5 GW's and would have taken him last weekend except for Santi's 4 assists.

Same here. I tend to shun most of the player picks recommended here and go my own way but the tactical knowledge given by the FFS community has done me wonders.

I'm halfway through writing my "Thank you" speech for the end of season. It's going to be a long one 😉

I'd agree with that. I think I've ignored my instincts too many times this season and gone on advice from here. Next season more the other way round. Tactically though, wonderful place. Learnt so much this season!

And I shall look forward to reading it!

Any advice for my team guys? I am winning my league by 12 points so i need to be very careful!!

    I have

    Robles

O Brien , Clyne, Sagna, Nastasic
    Walcott, Mata, Ba;e, Maloney
    Berba , Aguero

    Howard - Sissoko - Turner - Benteke

My bench is fully red with suspensions and injurys, aguero is yellow.

Will aguero play? I was planning on captaining him? I suppose i should captain mata instead now.

What would you do in this situation. If things go wrong nastasic might nto play, aguero etc so i could be in trouble
