The Gameweek continues with a pair of Premier League clashes featuring sides flirting with the top four placings. Southampton and Spurs get things underway at St Mary’s, with just three points separating them in the table. Later this afternoon, Roberto Martinez returns to South Wales, bringing his in-form Everton side to face Michael Laudrup’s Swansea.
The team news from the South Coast brings a few surprises in both lineups as Mauricio Pochettino and Tim Sherwood ring the changes. The Saints make three alterations to the side that won a point at Newcastle as Danny Fox, Adam Lallana and Morgan Schneiderlin are drafted in at the expense of Luke Shaw, James Ward-Prowse and Pablo Osvaldo; Shaw’s absence is reportedly due to illness.
Spurs make no less than six changes to the lineup that was routed by Liverpool, as Sherwood hands a first league start to Emmanuel Adebayor and recalls Christian Eriksen to his midfield. Danny Rose returns at left-back, with Vlad Chiriches also starting in defence, whilst in the wide roles, Gylfi Sigurdsson makes a return and Erik Lamela is on the opposite flank in what appears to be an attacking 4-4-2.
