Site Features

In Development – The Community Submissions Section

Next week we’re looking to launch a new feature on Fantasy Football Scout, aimed at further increasing community interaction and adding a new dimension to the site’s content.

The new Submissions section will allow any registered user to post us an article for review, which can then be published in the Submissions section, or even promoted to the homepage listing.

In many ways, this is an extension of the Hot Topics feature in our HomeCrowd comments system. Since we introduced HomeCrowd, we’ve seen many posters supply some quality content, which has been of great interest to our readers. While we’ve been able to highlight these posts via the Hot Topics, we felt we needed another level to recognise some of the great content that can be produced by the community.

How the Submissions section develops is very much up to you to decide, as it will be your content that shapes it. You can send us articles on any subject surrounding Fantasy Football – player scout reports, tactical analysis, statistical breakdowns (members or non-members related), features on a particular topic or dilemma and, of course, information on any community tournaments you’re running, provided they’re free to enter. Our recent Drop the Flop article – as devised and written by Swanny14 – is an example of our willingness to take on, develop and promote new editorial ideas, so if you have any suggestions for future content, feel free to get involved.

Transfer news is another great source of content and we are particularly interested in hearing from fans of a Premier League club to provide expert analysis and match reports. Ultimately, our hopes are to have a community expert on board for each team in the top-flight in any given season – this could be your chance to be the community’s eyes and ears on the latest goings-on at your club.

There will also be a sideboard widget listing articles published and we will flag up the published submissions in our weekly community round-up as well as in our social media channels. As mentioned, we may even promote some articles to our homepage listing.

In the past we’ve always looked to recruit new writers from the community and both Paul and Jonty – staff members at Fantasy Football Scout – arrived via that route. We’d like to think that there are more new writers out there who will spring from the submissions section and evolve into contributors to help take the site forward in the coming years.

With the close season and the World Cup looming, this is a great opportunity to try out this new section and evolve and improve it as we go. If any of you fancy yourself as experts on a particular World Cup nation, have a list of players to watch or simply want to review your Fantasy season or focus on targets for the next, then keep your powder dry and look out for the launch of the Submissions section next week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is this the worst kept secret in football? Everyone seems completely resigned to him going to Chelsea, and I think he could be a massive flop.

So do I. He is a very limited footballer, especially technically - which you would think Mourinho really emphasizes in his style of play. (Striker taking part in the build-up)

I've thought this too - he doesn't seem the sort of player who can do magical things, just a very solid, reliable striker who gets into the right places.

          Doesn't Ba do that?

I'm convinced if Chelsea had played Ba as #1 striker for the season he would've scored 20 goals easily.

Eto'o is probably the one that contributes the most, but Ba has been doing well when playing. Can't believe he hasn't gotten more minutes ahead of Torres.

Lewandowski would be the ideal striker, shame he went to the rivals!

Costa is a slightly improved striker to Ba, but he's slower. He played second fiddle behind Falcao and nobody thought that much of him other than him being a good striker, but now everyone thinks he's world class, I'm not sure he's the right man for Chelsea, but if he made the step up in technical ability he'd be great, as he's very strong and won't mind the physicality of the PL.

    My team:

    Harper (K Davis)

    Baines - Ferdinand - Demi - Flannagan

    Yaya - Eriksen - Mata

    Lukaku - Rooney - Suarez

    Subs: Puncheon - Stones - S Davis

Aguero needs to come in but in depends on Rooney I guess...

    So
    A) Lukaku and Baines > Aguero and Brown
    b) Suarez > Aguero
    c) Rooney and Lukaku > Aguero and Wickham/Welbeck
    D) Rooney and Baines > Aguero and Evra/Zaba

Have suffered very similar feck-fest with slightly different players. My whole season down the drain with extremely bad luck with injuries. And I'm not one of those who buy as early as possible and bring in players before they're cleared of injuries and then moan bad luck when players are still sidelined or get injured in midweek. No. I wait until friday and never buy an injured player. When I bought those Silva, Hazard, Mirallas, YaYa, Noone, etc. theywere not injured, there were 0 reports on them carrying injuries. Those Silva ankle injury reports came some 5 GW's after I had bought him.

Well, now to look for extreme differentials to make 50 points difference in last two GW's.

Yep and is single handedly dragging them out of the relegation zone after coming back from loan, scoring twice against City in the process, and he has two games that he could do damage in.

Sunderland have already beaten Man United at Old Trafford once this season? 😉

and West Brom don't keep many clean sheets and aren't in that much danger of relegation..

5 goals, 1 assist and 8 baps against (mci, che, CAR) is not to be sniffed at.

Don't think Rooney will play again this season. Man U don't really have anything to play for. I have a lot of experience with groin injuries and if you aggravate (or tear something), he could easily miss the World Cup.

Going to leave Rooney in my squad as I can't bring in Aguero and there's no other player I'm confident will score. Gonna leave it to my two super differentials (i.e. rubbish) Podolski and Lukaku.

Maybe I'm mental but it's the Friday before a Bank Holiday weekend so who cares!
