The Weekend Team News

Arsene Wenger expects Laurent Koscielny to be available for Arsenal’s home game against Palace. Roberto Martinez has doubts over a quartet of players for Everton’s trip to Leicester. Loic Remy will be assessed prior to QPR’s opener with Hull, Sam Allardyce rules out Matt Jarvis for London derby with Spurs, while West Brom boss Alan Irvine confirms Joleon Lescott and James Morrison will miss the visit of Sunderland:

Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will be without his World Cup winning trio for the visit of Crystal Palace. The Gunners boss has suggested that Laurent Koscielny should be fit and available to face the Eagles, though, after the defender was subbed off in last week’s Community Shield win over City with an Achilles problem. Theo Walcott, David Ospina, Serge Gnabry and Ryo Miyaichi are all sidelined through injury, though Abou Diaby has returned to full training.

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas and new signing Christian Atsu will all be assessed before a decision is made on their availability for tomorrow’s visit to Leicester. The trio were all involved in the World Cup and have had a limited pre-season. Meanwhile, Seamus Coleman has returned to training after a hamstring injury, though Martinez concedes it’s still too early to tell whether the defender will be available for the weekend.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp remains hopeful that Loic Remy will be ready to feature against Hull, with the Frenchman expected to take part in training. Elsewhere Adel Taarabt seems likely to miss out, with Redknapp going on to say that the Moroccan isn’t yet fit having not participated in training at all during pre-season.

Matt Jarvis has been ruled out of the London Derby with Spurs through injury and joins Andy Carroll on the sidelines, confirms Allardyce. New signing Enner Valencia looks likely to miss out, with the Hammers boss “still waiting” on the Ecuadorian to get up to full fitness.

West Brom could hand a debut to summer signing Brown Ideye, with the Nigerian in contention to make the squad, for the home game against Sunderland, according to Alan Irvine. The Baggies boss though, has ruled out both James Morrison and Joleon Lescott, though, with both missing out through knee injuries.

Paul Lambert has confirmed Ron Vlaar will be available for Villa’s trip to Stoke. The Dutchman has played just 45 minutes of pre-season after featuring in the World Cup but his manager revealed he has “no worries” over the defender’s fitness levels for tomorrow’s match.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

I understand there is the Hazard / Costa conundrum as well as the Chelsea defense minefield... but my latest brainteaser is one of Debuchy.

Sure he has a record of yellows playing for Newcastle but is this related to him playing in a low class defence being forced to make rash challenges? Surely playing with the Gunners who have a really strong midfield that holds on to the ball better and tactically greater defending this may not be such an issue?

Or is he generally a bad tackler or ill disciplined? Worth 5.5 or rather Gibbs?

Anyone know much about Koeman's style of play? Is he defensive? What's his usual formation? I have Clyne in at the moment as theire fixtures up to GW12 look good to me. Anyone starting with Tadic?

4-3-3. Quite expansive. Although last season he introduced a 3 at the back formation which actually influenced LvG with his formation choice at the WC. He plays good football and is great with youngsters

Think I'm almost there with this team:

    DDG Gilks
    Luis Debuchy Clyne Rio Hutton
    Hazard Mata Ramsey Siggy Davis
    Rooney Costa Bojan

Still not totally convinced by the 3 budget defs, and not completely sure about Davis. Any thoughts appreciated.

Think I may go for a Rooney/Costa/Fletcher combo up top, feels like a bit less of a risk and he should have pens. I think Clyne is a solid pick. I'm not keen on Rio, I doubt he'll stay fit much of the season. Davis could be a good pick with southampton's fixtures.

    Option 1:

Wisdom, Terry, Sanchez, Marney, Riviere (Marney and Wisdom benched in a 3-4-3)

    Option 2:

Chambers, Lovren, Ramsey, Mata, Jutkiewicz (Juke benched in a 3-5-2)

Basically - do I downgrade Terry and Sanchez to Mata and Lovren to upgrade Riviere to Mata?

Any thoughts on the starting Southampton defence? Since Pulis has gone I need to replace Ward and Southampton rotate well with QPR (I have Ferdinand.) At a budget of 5m, although 4.5m would be better, who is the best option? I would guess
    Clyne - Yoshida - Fonte - Bertrand
Are they all nailed on, or is 1 of them a rotation risk?

      Clyne and Fonte nailed.
Yoshida will be replaced by Gardos but that might not happen in GW 1.
Bertrand will play GW 1 and maybe GW2 but there is talk of him ultimately becoming back up to a new left back but no-one has arrived yet.

Who would you pick? Clyne is nailed on and has a chance of attacking returns but Yoshida is 4.5m which could help me later on. Also is Gardos in yet, if so how much is he?

Ok but still cant decide between sterling and Erik. Spurs good fixtures and Erik has more pts per min going on last season. But Sterling has confidence of world cup and now with Suarez away he will play a more prominent role.

Was settled with my current team but thinking Utd fixtures are too good to go without a defender.

Ironically their quality at the back is as bad as Burnleys, but I feel inclined to go with Jones.

So, IF i go with Jones, who do I drop?

    A) Debuchy
    B) Luis
    C) Lovren

Guys, whats your opinion on VERGINI from Sunderland?

He is 4.5 (same as PvA and O'Shea) but he has more attacking threat I think?

    Look here: http://www.safc.com/fixtures-and-results/fixtures/first-team/2014/friendly-udinese

    Is he nailed-on to start?
