The ScoutCast – Episode 157 – Hipsters

Three middle-aged beards collide to talk Fantasy Football. Hipsters? Sadly, as Jonty so rightly points out, we bear a closer resemblance to a trio of David Brents.

A clean-shaven Ryan joins us to complete the quartet and boost the credibility: the Kiwi contributor wakes fresh and ready for action to mull over the Gameweek gone, the week’s transfer bandwagons and to look forward to the weekend’s action.

Around those regulars, we brace ourselves for the latest bout of quizzing from you, the community. We tackle the potential of the Palace form guys and the unlikely contribution from Hull and Leicester, as we cast an early eye on the looming double Gameweek.

The ScoutCast was beamed out live on Wednesday via a Google Hangout and you can view the full video recording on the player below.

Alternatively, for the polished, low-fat audio version can be found via this link or the first player.

Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and Google Plus page to keep informed of when future ScoutCast hit the screen.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

With Gerrard back, do you think Coutinho could outscore Henderson with 4 points over the double?

Henderson's output with Gerrard on the pitch is horrible!

I think Gerrard may start QPR and Palace at home, to honor him .
These are games I want Hendo to play at his best FPL-wise..

If BR has any sense Gerrard should never start again. Unless he's being sentimental.

This is the point. If there is a more sentimental club than LPool i dont know of it

          😀

fwiw DGW34 has no room for sentimentality. GW38 is a different story.

Don't get me wrong, love the guy. But can you just imagine the buildup...more cringeworthy than a BR goal celebration.

Sterling is a must have, the question is who to have beside him.
Coutinho or Henderson? Take it we all have Skrtel/Moreno.

Hendo maybe, but Coutinho is not over performing FPL-wise.
His stats are amazing, but the output a little far from it.

Henderson is a good player with slightly inflated recent score with the pennos.

Coutinho is just not very good full stop (relative to his nomination and standing amongst Liverpool fans). Has a couple of stand out moments but is then ineffective for the rest of the game. Not even a top 10 midfielder for me in the country.

I absolutely love it. Similarly, as a born and bred scouser I love and am proud of Liverpool, but I needed a change after being there for my whole life, and London just has so much variety and things of interest, it's fantastic. I can see why it might overwhelm some people, but it's a wonderful city.

Lads I'm in what the Spanish would call El Pickle. I only have 10 players at the moment but 2 FTS

    Myhill

    Clyne Fonte Dawson (Bellerin Hutton)

    Hazard Eriksen Boyd Silva (Sanchez)

    Kane Kun (Austin)

    A) Austin - Murray

    B) ANYTHING ELSE!

      B.

If it was a defender I would've said get a Leicester one cause he can be rotated out after the DGW but seeing as you're stuck with the GK you may as well go with Davis.

Schmeichel has decent fixtures (on paper) right till the end.

Panti my 2nd keeper and he covers DGW 37.

      A) It makes the hit more worthwhile next week by getting him in now, he's got a decent fixture this gw plus the double too to make up for a hit in the dgw (that's my logic at least)

Then a friend put a very good point to me, if Hazard is the players player should he not also win the young players as well. Is this allowed? His point was is that if he is the best player he surely has to be the best young player as well.

Pfa young usually goes to a young player thats made the biggest jump in his career(judging by who has recieved this award in recent years). Cr7 was not only the best in the league overall but made the biggest progress the year he won them both

Kane definitely made the bigger jump than hazard despite hazard being the better overall. He was already top class

    Seems fair enough to me

I know, bale made a ridiculous jump thay year despite winning the main one is 2011( i still dint know why he won the main one that year, hr wasnt that good)

Also the case of no real other stand out contendors

Yeah I said yesterday, the standard in 2010-11 was very poor. There's no way YPoTY should be up to 24, Bale winning that year and Hazard being eligible this year is ridiculous.

I agree, I don't think of Hazard as a young player any more.

Having said that, if he is eligible for both he should win both. Hands down the best player in the PL this season.

Better triple up for the DGW

Hendo Sterling Mignolet or Ivan Terry & Hazard?

yeah i did kinda mean and....poorly worded question....

I meant it more like this...

yeah i didn't explain hat very well.

Mignolet Sterling & Hendo + Ivan & Hazard

        or

Sterling Hendo + Hazard Terry & Ivan - which is better?

You'd assume he's going 3+2 or 2+3 so Hazard is a given in either of them.

Yeah so it's just Terry vs Migs. Migs the better option for me.

I prefer the Liverpool one, but you should have 3 Chelsea, and one must be Hazard.

What's Brown Ideye's chance of playing you reckon? Think Anichebe will start alongside Berahino now he has a knock?

If he's not gonna play I may aswell take the hit now and get him out given those fixtures...

Can someone please kindly explain to me the striker situation at Leicester? Looking at Ulloa, Nugent and Vardy's game time is beyond confusing to know who is firs choice, etc. Thanks.

Leicester are in good form and Vardy been playing through that form so logical to expect his inclusion

They have played all 3 in the last 3 games.

      Front 4 vs WHU - Vardy (L), Ulloa and Nuggent © and MAhrez/Albrig ®
Front 4 at WBA - Vardy (L), Ulloa and Nugg © and Albrig (r)

If Remy is confirmed fit. What option do you prefer for this weekend only?

    A. Remy + Bolasie + Bertrand
    B. Murray + Eriksen + Bertrand
    C. Remy + Eriksen + Baines

C, Erix will score against a poor New defence, and Burnley will not be able to score at Goodison

Bolasie if he starts in the hole, maybe Mata if you fancy United to do some damage.

Best differential midfielder for this GW only (will WC next week), money no issue.
I have Ozil but for obvious reasons I'd like to get rid of him before the blank.

I've been thinking that Mata might be a good shout, or perhaps even Fellaini or Young.
    Thoughts?

Yaya might not be the worst idea, I do have Kun and Silva already, but West Ham have been conceding quite a lot away from home recently..

He always plays better when against a fellow african midfielder (Alex)

    Panti
    Ivan-Bert-Alderweireld
    Haz-Silva-Mane-Boyd
    Kun(C)-Kane-Gomis
    Bench: Hamer, Alexis, Lescott, Wasi
    1 FT, 0.4 itb.

With this team it's got to be worth doing Gomis, Panti->Murray, Howard for -4, right? I'm wildcarding next week.
