The ScoutCast – Episode 182 – Hollow

So I did it. After a couple of weeks attempting to resist Sergio Aguero and, despite meticulously constructing a convincing case to avoid him, I went back on my word.

Recovering from the dramatic climb-down, I felt rather hollow heading into this ScoutCast, with Jonty, Andy and Luke all too keen to watch on while I tucked into humble pie.

Not surprisingly, I spend a good part of this episode justifying the back tracking, before I join my co-hosts in offering views on another bout of community questions. We discuss the Lukaku exit plans, Ozil vs Sanchez and contemplate options between the sticks with Jack Butland losing his shine.

Then we move on to the Gameweek preview, as I desperately try to find some joy in pondering which mid-price defender to sign heading into Saturday’s deadline. Sigh.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first aired live on Wednesday evening via our YouTube channel.

You can view the full version via the larger player below, or soak up the more refined audio version via this link or the smaller player.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for updates on new episodes.

NB: apologies in advance for Luke’s sound quality. We discovered a technical problem after the recording was completed. If you’re struggling to decipher what he’s saying, just imagine him agreeing with everything I say.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Chelsea rejected a £57.5million January bid for Oscar from Chinese club Jiangsu Suning. The ambitious Chinese club plan to come back in the summer with a revised bid whilst they are tracking City midfielder Yaya Toure, John Terry and Liverpool's midfield duo of Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.

Alex Teixeira has meanwhile agreed a £38million transfer to Jiangsu Suning reporting to be earning over £300,000 a week after bonuses.

I'm torn! Who would you most rather have this week?

    A) Siggy - new striker to complement him, two home games next (CPL STO)
    B) Firmino - playing upfront but Liverpool are inconsistent, have a congested fixture list and a blank gw30
    C) Sanchez - would need a -4 to accommodate him though

Anyone else feeling Kane (C) over Kun?

Kun faces a Leicester side who have given all of the top sides a run for their money this season, and they have an incredible 5 CS in 6 games. I'm sure if you offered Ranieri a draw he'd take it, and for that reason I can see Leicester sitting back, similar to what they did last time they played City.

If City do score, I can't see them pushing on and getting 1-2 more so it's unlikely to be an explosion from Kun.

Kane has just as good form, Spurs are in tremendous form and they have a lot to play for.

Indeed, he's on FIRE and Leicester are obviously a better team than Watford. Watford have been a mess away from home recently.

I'm sorry but how is he on fire? He had a good game against norwhich but they also made liverpools attack look good. Without pens his form would be extremely average.

Does better away. He's a slight doubt too, could always see Poch bench him to be safe and a late cameo if he is required. He is still young and two games in four days + illness might not equal a start.

All in all, there are better options out there, IMO 🙂

Would say Baines to Ivan or Azpi but you have Courtois. Not sure I'd double up so VVD's a good shout

Stoke have some great fixtures coming up, is their defence a no no while shawcross is injured?

Still think they are solid despite recent results, but shawcross definitely takes a big appeal away

Not really isn't a no! Is his only threat Carroll?

My coworker just did the move from Lukaku and was asking what I thought.

Well he's said he wants it to be a 2-week punt until he gets Vardy in GW27 so perhaps it works out nicely for him

Calm down! He'll start ahead of Carroll if Bilic gets his onions right. Carroll is effective as a super sub depending if we are chasing the game. We usually line up with Valencia playing off Sakho when fit. This being said, he's a rotation risk when we have all our players fit-Payet, Lanzini, Moses, Antonio.

What to do with arny? Keen to get rid but could be handy for upcoming blanks. Looking to bring in Sanchez in his place as I don't want to loose alli, mahrez, ozil or peyet.

    A)Should I keep?
    B)Sell for -4 for Sanchez.
C)Sell for Sanchez next week for free?

& doesn't Ranieri tend to play 'pragmatic' against the big teams now, only unleashing his two dogs when playing lesser teams.

I suspect Mahrez is more likely to score, can see there being goals in that match despite the 0-0 last time, but it depends if you want to take the chance on 2x Leicester.

Park the bus , at home, against a 'lesser' team?
          Surely unlikely.

Whereas Leicester, away, against the #2(1) with it all to lose.
Dont think their team bus will be staying outside the stadium
