You planning on WCing next week? If not then A for me due to fixtures

Also, Darmian is 5.4 so why is D under 5.0m?

Exact money for this WC team. Any changes you'd make?

    DDG - Elliott
    Mangala - Bellerin - Rojo - Lovren - Ward
    Sanchez - Ozil - Coutinho - Payet - Bolasie
    Aguero - Lukaku - Martial

    3 x FT's to sort out GW35.

Helps out in GW35 though, so tricky. Mandala and Otamendi to be the City pairing, no? Likewise, Sakho and Lovren?

i would imagine Sakho would be a safer option and City defence is just woeful and thats pretty much down to Mangala

I could do Lovren -> Sakho and Ward -> Souaré which would free up 0.2m for Coutinho -> Firmino. Decisions decisions!

I think I have a fair idea of my WC team with just 4 places up for grabs:

    Robles Elliott
    Kosc Gabriel Rojo Sakho ???
    Ozil Payet Cout ??? ???
    Aguero Lukaku ???

    Thoughts on the 4 ???:

    A) Simpson/Olsson, Firmino, Barkley, Rashford
    B) Mangala/Sagna, Lallana/Milner, Barkley, Rashford
    C) Mangala, Milner, Barkley, Deeney
    D) Fuchs, Firmino, Lennon, Deeney
    E) Simpson/Olsson, Milner, Lennon, Martial

I've been monitoring fpl stats like a hawk as I'm to the penny with my proposed WC team, hoping to wait till after the internationals before deciding if I should go through with it or not but can't afford a .1 rise on Elliot. I can currently get Ozil, Sanchez, Payet, Mahrez, Firm, Lukaku, Kane, Aguero without the rise

Run some tables on defenders in the last six matches. Look at touches in the box, shots in the box, etc. I think you might like what you see from Coleman. I'm certainly taking the plunge. The upside picks (like Coleman and Sanchez and Dann) are what make doing the wildcard fun.

I'm wildcarding, and it comes down to these differences:

    A. Robles & dawson.
And then change bolasie to coutinho in dgw34.

    B. Adrian/de gea & coleman.
And then change bolasie to milner in dgw34.

I'd agree re. Lovren to Sakho. Your GK options for GW 33 and 35 arnt great and generally I think going for so many punts over established players is risky, especially when they benefit from great GW 35 fixtures. I'd retain Mahrez personally and I think Simpson could outscore Ward over GW 33-35.

Any Newcastle aficionados on tonight? What with all the current defensive frailties, who is the likely back 4?

    1. kalmoffit
      • 10 Years

I'd only get Janmaat or Mbemba.

    2. 1569Tippins

Janmaat (if fit - currently a doubt for the Norwich game) is nailed on at right back. Mbemba is nailed on at centre back. With Coloccini still out, Lascelles looks sure to play alongside him again (Taylor's out of favour). Left back is an issue at the moment as Dummett (injured), Haidara (injured) and Colback (who can play there also is suspened) ... Sissoko ended up playing as a very advanced wing back when we were chasing the game against Sunderland ... but I'd imagine it would be Anita who would fill in at left back against Norwich (Benitez says he favours experience so is unlikely to trust Mbabu). Aarons could fill in at left back also, but again, I think he'll favour Anita for experience.

So, Janmaat (if fit) - Mbemba - Lascelles - Anita the most likely back 4 at the weekend.

    3. Geordienufc1
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 3 months ago

What with injuries and a new manager, it's difficult to say.

Assuming he's not injured, Janmaat is the most nailed option, and will definitely play every game. Mbemba as one of the 2 CBs is also nailed in my eyes when fully fit. The 2nd CB spot is a battle between Lascelles, Colo (injured) and Taylor assuming they are all fit. My preference (and hopefully Rafa's preference) is Lascelles to partner Mbemba. Colo has failed as a captain, and failed as a reliable defender for the past couple of seasons, and most fans would like to see him replaced (both as long-term captain, and starting CB) ASAP. If both Colo and Lascelles are fit, Taylor won't get a game.

As for LB, that's also a problem position. Dummett, Haidara and Mbabu are the 3 LBs in the squad, though all are injured (I believe Mbabu has begun training again, so he'll hopefully be back soon). Colback started there the last 2 games, though he's now banned for 2 games. If none of the aforementioned 3 are fit, then either somebody like Anita will play there, or Mbemba will be pushed out to the left, and Taylor will come in and partner Lascelles at CB. Either way, I wouldn't go near any of the Newcastle LBs.

Long story short - Janmaat and Mbemba are reliable picks, Lascelles could be a good option if he performs well for Rafa whilst Colo is still injured, and everybody else I would avoid.

Yep, WC GW 33 and then BB GW 34

Couldnt agree with you more, I cant plan anymore.

A -4 wouldnt be a problem and I might even do one at GW 35 if needed

The basis of my WC team won't be too different to yours.

I want a craack at the 33 dgw and have something solid going forward.

    Elliot Robles

forgot to add this is for 32. Wildcarded the Sunday of last gameweek so its about my 20th draft. I think Rashford is a risk, but a calculated one. he enables that very strong midfield. Players such as Smalling instead of Rojo. Even if he doesnt start one of the games, the other is a very enticing fixture. and I can swap him for Deeney or Defoe after the double

      A. Firmino is a better player and better FPL player than Milner. Barkley is the better player and should be the better FPL player. The risk lies here but if he enables a better squad go for it. (i have rashford)

Guys, I am going crazy, can't sleep around here, I just can't decide...
    A)Ozil, Rashford, Lennon
    B)Lingard, Welbeck, Barkley,
    C)Mata, Welbeck, Lennon.
I really think Arsenal are going to win almost all of their games to the end, and Welbeck is essential for that. But I am also sure that Rooney is not coming back before the first DGW. But Lennon? Is he going to play all those games?
    Also...Firmino or Coutinho?

      • 8 Years

*Arsenal mids or attackers are a must imo with their remaining schedule.
*Firmino/Coutinogo both great choices take your pick
*Lennon will probably start at least 3/4 across the 2 doubles
*Rashford is a risk, but enables a better squad, is in a price bracket where you can shift him to double gameweek 37 players like deeney and defoe, and will probably get good minutes in at least one game in the double

The thought has crossed my mind to put Barkley in for 33 as a placeholder for Sanchez/Ozil. What's putting me off Barkley is both Ozil and Sanchez have a better fixture this week and I would have to save in 33 to then get Ozil/Sanchez in for 34 a price rise for one of them would scupper the plan

2 questions Tony if you don't mind.
            A) who's your Citeh picks?
            B) who's your blank 35 picks?

              At the minute just Aguero.

I'm imagining Payet, Lukaku, and a defender maybe United.

Just Aguero huh, that's where I am but reckon I need another unless I get Janmatt or Dawson (I think)

Looking good. I will forsake Kane to bring in a dgw player. Get him back for 35 and WC in 36.

Cross that bridge when I come to it. Considering I've benched 335 points so far this season I'm bound to get it wrong anyway 🙂

Like this a lot. You must have excellent SV. I'm going this GW, and I plan to sacrifice Payet for some GW33 players and Smalling/Kosc over Rojo/Gabriel. What are your thoughts on their reliability?

For GW 37 of course. Not sure about GW34. It's a tough choice, of course, but with my SV I can't have Sanchez, Ozil, Firmino, Smalling, Kosc, etc and also have Payet. That is the big question for me: go cheap on the defence and have Payet, or settle for Barkley and have the nailed defenders (of course one of Sanchez/Ozil could go as well).

I think Rojo will be ok, Gabriel is the one I'm most worried about. If you get 2 games out of Rojo and let's say Gabriel only gets 1 game and in the game he doesn't play they get a clean sheet your probably looking at a deficit of 6 points (not including any bonus) so I guess the question is will Payet outscore Barkley and 6 points

It's a good way to put it, and I think it's pot luck. I like Payet a lot more than Barkley, but Barkley does have an extra double, so at least that far I'm happy. I have a plan for GW34 that does not involve hits, but Barkley to Payet for -4 is not out of the question in GW34.

    A) Rojo Simpson Barkley
    B) Smalling Fuchs Lanzini

    Help a budgie out!

Having just seen Spectrum's team and the great response it got, I decided to play around with my wildcard and have these options:

option 1 what I currently have:
    Smalling, Dann, Bellerin, Bolasie, Rashford

    option 2 (new):
    Rojo, Gabriel, Ward, Lanzini, Kane

what do you guys reckon? thanks

I'd stick with what you have and hope Palace begin to realize how much trouble they're in.

What is the situation with Everton's goalkeepers? Has Robles permanently displaced Howard now, and is there chance of rotation or Robles being dropped if they have a bad day?

Martinez did say Howard would play again before the end of the season. I can't find a link now. But I doubt it'll be anytime soon. He's not regaining his place that's for sure...

I don't think anyone on here has the slightest clue 🙂 . Howard is going to the MLS in the Summer , Martinez said he is first choice and he started the last couple of games

    GW33 WC-draft with Lennon.

    Mignolet-Robles
    Bellerin-Kos-Smalling-Rojo-Sakho
    Özil-Coutinho-Payet-Lennon-Mahrez
    Kun-Lukaku-Kane

Just think Barkley vs Lennon. Barkley is better player and nailed for sure. If I want Barkley I must downgrade Kos -> Gabriel or Smalling -> 5.0m def....hmm maybe Reid.
