The Big Numbers – Gameweek 1

Time to roll out our first post-Gameweek delve into the 2017/18 members’ data and assess some of the stand-out performers over the opening round of matches.

Tottenham’s top scorer misses chances aplenty as the transfers-out pick up pace. Man City’s front two and Liverpool’s summer signing from Roma arrive for analysis, while Chelsea and Palace’s left wing-backs also make the cut thanks to forward-thinking performances.

    Guardiola said that he preferred to start with the more solid, if less dynamic, abilities of Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Danilo against opposition that he knew would sit deep and try to stifle the Blues.

    Popular question here, I know... Gotta make the decision now though:
    Zaha to
    A) Ramsey (stk, liv)
    B) Ince (NEW, SOU)
    Everyone seems to say Ramsey, but in terms of fixtures, pre-season form, value and nailedness, for me there's only one sensible choice?

    1. Zareos

      Personally, I'd say Ince for the reasons you've mentioned.

      I need to find 1.5m to get Lukaku (if I decide to bite the bullet this week), so I'm considering Mooy.

      Yes. Give Gabbi one more week. Wouldn't be surprised to see him on bench this week though if they persist with one up front. Think that he and JWP are both rotation risks waiting to happen

          Thanks mate! 🙂
          Crossing my fingers for Trippier to be back by next week, so I can do Danilo -> Trippier 🙂

          Other good changes could be T.Carroll -> RLC (as RLC looks more nailed and more offensive than Carroll)
          Long -> Mbemba, and
          Gabbiadini -> Mounie

    can somebody pls explain me why cahill's price has not dropped despite 200000+ players selling him, but lindelof's price has reduced to 5.4 despite only 50000+ sales. Or batshuayi dropped to 8.4 despite only 19000+sales??

      1. Robson-Canoe

        The higher the ownership, the more sales required for a player to lose value (my assumption, not confirmed though)

      Yes, it's to do with initial ownership. Cahill is owned by over 10% of teams, whereas Lindelof and Batshuayi have a combined total of only 5 or 6%.

      I'd say the opposite to this, I think it's better he does that otherwise it would quickly just get out of control.

        I think the advice should be to minimise hits. If you get off your lofty pedestal for a second, he's had the misfortune of choosing a non-playing 3rd striker. It could potentially be worth a -4 to get a striker who starts this week.

      I started last season with 433 and it worked a wonder up till the first international break. So doing something similar so far with 442 and I got 5/5 CS in GW1 so sticking with it for another week at least.

      1. Gruu
        • 8 Years

        i regret to use 442 instead of 343 since there is a lot of potential 5.5m Midfielder (Mooy, Atsu, JWP, etc)

    3. Twisted Saltergater
      • 15 Years

      Endes up with a decent looking 343 without Kane.

      With Kane (and Lukaku), I think a 433 or 442 is best.

        A 532 in GW1 would've worked quite nicely.. double Southampton defence, double Man U plus attacking Man City or Kolasinac, or Davies.

      Nice team. I'd focus on the 3 big hitters, look at the fixtures and see who you're going to captain? You may be able to downgrade one f them and spread the funds around in order to get a Liverpool attacking mid.
