Dugout Discussion – Spurs vs Chelsea

After Aaron Mooy fired Huddersfield to victory over Newcastle, we make our way to Wembley as Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea go head-to-head in Sunday’s final fixture.

A victory for Spurs today would set a new club record of 15 successive home league wins, yet their record in competitive matches at Wembley – two wins, one draw and seven losses – is anything but convincing.

Subject to over 164,000 transfers out last week, Harry Kane has now gone 11 Premier League matches in August without finding the net.

Yet Kane was still the second most captained player for Gameweek 2, handed the armband by 526,000+ FPL managers as he looks to recover from last Sunday’s blank at Newcastle.

Both Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli plundered the points at St James’ Park to put Kane in the shade.

They also combined for both goals in the corresponding fixture last season, with Eriksen supplying assists for Alli’s pair of strikes in a 2-0 home win over the champions.

For Chelsea, Alvaro Morata is handed his first start after emerging from the bench to bag a goal and assist in last week’s shock home loss to Burnley.

But there’s no Eden Hazard as he fails to recover from an ankle injury in time for the Wembley encounter.

          Aye, very true. Think they were both in the various scout squads, but with Lukaku getting the nod upfront in the picks, KDB got the Man City spot for 'coverage'. Will be interesting to see how he gets on tomorrow. A blank and I feel that he'll be left at the station while people board the Mkhi and Pogba bandwagons.

      Spread the budget a bit, over a third of yours is in three players. KDB to Mkhi/Pog would give you a lot of money to play with.

      Well he's a giant centre back in a Pulis side that has back to back clean sheets (not to mention he's already scored). Would be harsh if he's dropped, but nothing has been said so far to confirm he's safe. My guess is he'll keep his place as long as he and the team are getting results.
