The ScoutCast – Episode 233 – Surgio

It seems that every Fantasy Football manager in the land is seeking counsel.

Sergio Aguero’s 20-points has caused joy and consternation – mainly the latter – and we’re all in need of reassurance and solutions.

The ScoutCast crew are no different.

Granville, Jonty, Andy and Az join me in searching for answers, thankful for the opportunity to bounce ideas and opinion.

Contrary to popular thinking, among the noise and chatter, we do arrive at a tentative conclusion.

All but one of us are willing to bend to Sergio’s surge in points and popularity or fall for Pep’s potential plot. We’re abstaining on the Aguero option for now and, over this 90 minutes, we’ll tell you just why.

Aguero dominates, but we have ample time to entertain other community questions, discussing Harry Kane’s latest failings, the premium defenders that warrant our trust and our cash, while Jonty is itching to take us through his handpicked bonus magnet XI.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    De Gea (Elliot)
    Davies, Otamendi, Monreal, Cedric (Hunemeier)
    Alli, Salah, Mkhitaryan (Carroll, RLC)
    Lukaku, Jesus, Chicharito

Worth WCing to this or spread transfers out over next few weeks? Have 0.1 to spare so can't afford rises/falls...

    FABIANSKI (Elliot)
    Davies, Otamendi, JONES, YOSHIDA (MBEMBA)
    SILVA, Salah, Mkhitaryan (Carroll, RLC)
    Lukaku, AGUERO, VARDY

Is this the secret to winning FPL?
Team ' PPTSRN" has 362 points and lies in 43position. This is his first season and has been in top 200 since starting . His line up sysytem is 5-3-2. Now for the secret he has NOT made ANY transfer in or out since starting GW1. Is this the way to go??????????????????

No. But a lesson can be learnt from it to sit tight some times! I often like to build up to 2FTs every other week

I don't think making NO transfers is necessarily the answer, but from my own experience, last season I made lots of transfers (several of which were for hits) either chasing last week's points or price rises, and did worse overall. This season I've resisted the temptation and am doing much better.

His/Her BB got him 20pts, which bring his total down to 342. Stil very very impressive nevertheless. Dont know anyone in the HOF is close to this total either (yet)

20 points from a BB is perfect. Anyone that wouldn't take that is a fool. Or a gambling addict.

People so over value that dumb chip. 😕

      No ARS players , interesting..
Helps to understand that you could to well without Kola (from this point on due to fixtures may help?) - Truth is ARS and LIV defence have been leaky

Best pick? Or any 2 for a hit? 🙂

    A. Trippier >> Davies

    B. Yoshida >> Monreal

    C. Lukaku >> Kun

    Elliot

      Probably the sideways A.

I've done C, but you know all the debate around that to make your own mind up. My decision was based on my projected points over six weeks or so. Figured I might as well do it now rather than after United play Palace.

That's what I would do, I think I get those 4 points back over the next block of fixtures. Kun has previous against Chelsea too. You could always get Lukaku back for Palace if Kane pushes you over the edge. Such tough choices, I've kept faith with Harry too

I have 2FT with 1.9mITB (WC also available). I want to trade out at least 2 of Gabbi, Pogba and Stephens, but what should I do?

    De Gea (Elliot)
    Dawson Stephens Naughton (Lowe Long)
    Salah Silva Pogba Atsu (Carroll)
    Kane Lukaku Gabbiadini

      Pogba -> Ramsey
Stephens -> Attacking FB or at least 100% nailed def (Kolasinac, Bavies, Lascalles) Depends on from which team you would like to get defender.

    0.2 ITB & 1FT

this is essentially what i'm trying to figure out. Do i captain Jesus and hope he starts and doesn't play a cameo, or go with Kane even though its the early game which i tend to dislike doing even though i know there is no rational reason for hating it!

Siggy no for now... I think playing on the left side is not good for him

Not for me. I think Ramsey could do well with Arsenal's upcoming fixtures, though

Maybe get Maguire in for Clark and save 1ft... Or downgrade Mounie and then get Kola

Best cheap midfielder 4.9 or under? I already have Carroll.

I was set to get Obiang, but I'm not sure how long he's out for. If it's just the Spurs game (for which he was going to be on my bench anyway), is he the best out there at the moment?
