Yahoo Focus – Gameweek 10

Next up this Friday, we bring you news of another big-money weekend contest from our partner game Yahoo.

They are offering a bumper Premier League £6k Saturday contest for the upcoming Gameweek. This consists of the six Saturday matches that take place from 3pm onwards, ending with the 5.30 pm clash between Bournemouth and Chelsea at the Vitality Stadium.

The contest is guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to 10 teams. The top 280 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £600 going to first place.

Our featured XI below will therefore focus on this contest, which is the biggest payout on offer in Gameweek 10.

Driven by Opta data, the Yahoo game has a scoring system perfectly suited to members of our community seeking out a Daily Fantasy Sports game.

New players can sign up and claim a free £50 in credit to your account when you deposit just £5. Promo code: Fantasy50.

It’s also worth having a read of our Strategy Guide before picking your starting line-up, as this gives you a better idea of the mechanics of the Yahoo game and the types of players in line to benefit.

FFS Strongest XI

Simon Mignolet – £13
Marcos Alonso – £16
Sead Kolasinac – £15
Scott Dann – £13
David Silva – £21
Eden Hazard – £19
Mame Biram Diouf – £18
Manuel Lanzini – £15
Alexis Sanchez – £25
Mohamed Salah – £25
Richarlison – £20

As Yahoo allows late swaps up until each kick-off, our listed line-up could be subject to change.

Liverpool’s home record brings Simon Mignolet into our selection for the first time this season ahead of their head-to-head with Huddersfield Town at Anfield. For all their troubles on the road, Jurgen Klopp’s side boast the best defensive record in front of their own fans, with just a single goal conceded. The visitors, meanwhile, have failed to score in each of their last three on the road. It’s worth remembering that keepers earn points for wins or draws, as well as double the number of points as defenders for a clean sheet.

Marcos Alonso’s potential at both ends of the pitch could be worth investing in for Chelsea’s trip to a Bournemouth side that have scored just three goals in four home matches. The Blues’ left wing-back – who continues to lead the way among defenders for shots (14) and efforts on target (five) this term – fired three attempts inside the box at Crystal Palace in his previous away appearance. He also scored in this fixture last season.

Sead Kolasinac is one of two Arsenal players to make out XI as we look to target Swansea’s troublesome right flank at the Emirates. The Swans have conceded 43 chances down that side of the pitch – the second-worst record in the league – and could be forced into a defensive reshuffle due to Martin Olsson’s hamstring injury. If Kyle Naughton is switched to the left, Paul Clement could be forced to field veteran Angel Rangel against the Gunners’ raiding left wing-back. Kolasinac has supplied two assists and three clean sheets over Arsenal’s four home matches.

Crystal Palace centre-half Scott Dann boasts the goal threat to trouble West Ham at Selhurst Park. Although he’s yet to find the net, Dann has produced eight efforts inside the box in the first nine Gameweeks and faces a defence that have conceded more goals from set-pieces (six) and headers (five) than any other. And the Hammers have been somewhat toothless on their travels, with just three goals in five road trips.

We were all set on selecting Philippe Coutinho for Liverpool’s home match with Huddersfield but the Brazilian is a big doubt due to a groin problem. Instead, we turn to Mohamed Salah on the back of his fifth goal of the season in last week’s loss at Spurs. The Egyptian has found the net in two of his three home starts and has produced more shots in the box (26) and efforts on target (18) than any forward involved in the Saturday £6k contest.

We’re opting for the security of starts offered by David Silva as Manchester City make their way to West Brom. The only one of Pep Guardiola’s main attackers to be rested completely in the midweek cup match with Wolves, the Spaniard has supplied four of his six assists away from home – more than any player in the league. The Baggies have one clean sheet in seven and have a number of injury concerns at the back.

Eden Hazard is our preferred Chelsea attacker for the trip to Bournemouth. The Belgian is slightly cheaper than frontman Alvaro Morata (£21), who was hauled off on the hour-mark at home to Watford last weekend. His record against the Cherries – four goals in his last three matches – suggests he looks in line to benefit against a defence with one clean sheet to their name all season.

Classified as a midfielder in Yahoo yet currently playing up front, Stoke’s Mame Biram-Diouf offers an in-form out-of-position prospect away to Watford. The Senegal international has scored in each of the last three matches and has fired 10 shots in the box in the previous four Gameweeks. His hosts Watford, meanwhile, have shipped 10 goals in front in front of their own supporters.

Despite having Dann on board in defence, we’re also backing West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini for their head-to-head at Selhurst Park. Even if the Hammers fail to score, the Argentine’s underlying numbers suggest he can be a viable pick. Lanzini fired five attempts on goal in last week’s 3-0 loss to Brighton and still scored a respectable 11.65 points.

A goal and assist away to Everton suggests that Alexis Sanchez is returning to his brilliant best in time for Arsenal’s home clash with Swansea. As mentioned above, the visitors’ right flank could prove very profitable at the Emirates, and the Chilean’s statistics strengthen that theory – he is second overall for both shots (19) and key passes (12) in the last four Gameweeks.

Watford’s Richarlison comes in for the home encounter with a Stoke defence that has conceded more goals (20) than any other side. The Brazilian has been a highly consistent source of Fantasy points, with three goals and four assists across the campaign so far. Over the last four Gameweeks, only Harry Kane (15 to 11) has managed more shots inside the opposition box.

This Week’s Contests

The Saturday 3pm slot, covering the six matches from that time onwards, offers Yahoo managers four of the biggest prize contests of the weekend.

All are guaranteed to run.

As mentioned above, the Premier League £6k Saturday contest has the largest pay-out.

There’s also the Premier League £2k Saturday, which costs £10 to enter and has a minimum win-back of £20 to the top 60 Yahoo managers. You can submit up to two teams for this contest, and the winner earns £200.

There are two Premier League £1k Saturday contests also worth considering.

One costs £25 to enter, with the top 13 Yahoo managers sharing the prize pool. First place earns you £200, with a minimum win-back of £50.

The other is just £1 to enter and pays out to the top 235 places, with a minimum win-back of £2. You can enter up to 10 teams, with £100 going to the first-placed manager.

Yahoo are also running a Premier League £100 10-Player Top 3 Win contest.

It’s for the 3pm slate, but also includes the Bournemouth v Chelsea tea-time match.

The entry fee is £100, with the ten entrants sharing a £950 prize pool across three paid places. The winner will be handed £450, the runner-up £300 and the third-place prize is £200.

The Premier League £1,000,000 Perfect Lineup Cup, which takes place over Gameweeks 1-19, continues this week.

It’s free to enter, with £500 in prizes and £50 for the best team every week. Over the 19 Gameweeks, there’s £40k in prizes on offer, with £30k shared among the top 5,000 and £10k going to the winner.

The Yahoo Cup also has a “£1,000,000 challenge”, which gives away £1m to any user who selects the perfect line-up in any given Gameweek to score the maximum possible points.

And in midweek, the Champions League also returns to Yahoo.

There is a Champions League £4k contest on offer for both Tuesday and Wednesday evening’s matches.

It’s the same set-up for both. They are each £5 to enter and pay out to the top 191 places, with a minimum win-back of £10. You can enter up to eight teams, with £400 going to the first-placed manager.

You can open an account and get started immediately.

If you register and deposit £5 or more, Yahoo will also give you a £50 bonus to be used as cash to enter paid contests.

Register here to claim the bonus.

You must be over 18 years of age, resident in the UK, and of legal capacity to register with Yahoo Daily Sports and open an Account. If you sign up, please always play responsibly.

City were forced to play 120 minutes in their midweek Carabao Cup tie against Wolves and consequently the manager says it remains to be seen as to how this will impact his selection for the trip to The Hawthorns.

“We were so tired,” he explained.

“We had a few problems with some kicks and it was demanding for us, but we’ve made a recovery and the players had the day off yesterday.

“Now they are coming back and we will see how they are.”

Most of my ML have wildcarded if that makes any difference, and I am leading it.

    DDG
    Jones Suttner Davies (Naughton, Long)
    Silva Salah(c) sterling Atsu Carroll
    Aguero Abraham (Kane)

Doubts over Davies, Suttner, Sterling and Aguero....but effectively only 1 sub

Worth a hit Long > Mee to beef up options?

2FT, 0.8m ITB. Really not sure what to do...

    Thinking:
    A - Kane to Morata
    B - Choupo/ Vardy to Salah/ Diouf
    C - Choupo/ Kane to Salah/ Firm

I Will want Kane back and C makes it harder if I go Firmino, but more potential short term points...

    Current lineup is:

    Elliot
    Otamendi/ Davies/ Cedric/ Ward
    Hazard/ Silva/ Choupo/ Gross
    Jesus/ Vardy

    Fab/ Mbemba/ Carrol/ Kane

    Coutinho -> Salah (c)

Good call? I've no other good captain choices this week.

    Free hit team.

    Captain?

    Elliot
    Azpi Otamendi Dunk
    Sanchez Hazard Salah Richarlison RLC
    Morata Laca
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    3.9M 4.5M Mariappa Rangel

No City is a risk, but this team seems good.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks.

    Elliot (Fabianski)
    Bellerin Cedric Jones Alonso (Tuanzabe)
    Salah Shaqiri Eriksen Ritchie (Carroll)
    Kane Lukaku (Abraham)

    2FT, 0.1 ITB

    Which option is better?
    A Shaqiri & Kane > KDB & Firmino
    B Shaqiri & Kane > Sterling & Morata
    C Shaqiri & Kane > Zaha & Aguero
    D Something else?

What happens with the -8 hit i've already taken if i play free hit now?

Will the free hit annul the -8? And will the team returning next GW be the exact team from GW 9? (I get Lukaku back at 11.6 (11.5 SV) and i will have to buy Agüero at 11.7 even though i already took a -4 to get Lukaku out at 11.6 SV and Aguero in at 11.5)

Just don't get the Free Hit..

      Speroni Elliot
      Monreal, Jones, Lascelles, Ake, Mbemba
      Sterling, Silva, Richarlison, Hazard, Carroll
      Kane, Aguero, Ch. Wood

Already on -8. Do i Free Hit?

-8 goes away. You get GW9 team after deadline at whatever price they are. It's like you left your team alone.

    Elliot
    Mee Otamendi Alonso
Zaha Richarlison Choupo Salah (c) Sterling
    Aguero Tammy

    Mariappa, Naughton, Kane

Would you make any transfers here please lads? Tempted with Kane to Laca who'd replace Tammy in the lineup.

    Thanks for any help.
