FFS Cup

Fantasy Football Scout Fifth Round Draw

We’re down to the last 32 in our Fantasy Football Scout Cup tournament and can now reveal not only the victors from round four but also the fifth round draw.

As we know, Gameweek 33 was a torrid affair which produced the lowest average score (32 points) of the season so far. It also put paid to one of the two top-ranked managers remaining in the cup.

Leaf – who ranked 55 in the world prior to last weekend – took a four-point hit to record a modest 34 score. He was somewhat unfortunate to come up against ChrisVD who recorded the highest score (57) in the entire fourth round. The latter also spent points on an extra transfer but mustered a hugely impressive tally thanks to a Spurs midfield partnership of Dele Alli – as captain – and Christian Eriksen.

While Leaf toppled out, the other high-flying manager – Always Captain Kun – earned his passage to the fifth round with a 34-30 victory over Le Tigre and maintained a rank of 65th in the world. They must now be considered the early favourite to lift the trophy but must be wary of their next opponent. Norman conquest lies in wait in the last 32 and, while they are placed 46,709 in the world, they are renowned giant killers in this cup having previoulsy eliminated the 48th ranked thisisdiz in round three.

Round four’s lowest ranked manager – TD7242 (699,646) – was unable to maintain their cup run after recording a calamatous 20 points from Gameweek 33. It was a familiar tale of taking a points hit to capture and captain Harry Kane, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang their only player to score more than two points. TD7242 tumbled out to Batmaniac, who scored 33 to claim passage.

That means that jaycar25 is now the big underdog heading into the next round. They are placed 339,188 in the world and will face 2eyedTurk next; they currently place 34,464 in the overall rankings.

The fifth round will be played out over Gameweek 34, which as we know, is a Double Gameweek with many chips in play.

The full fourth round results can be found here, while the fifth round draw in full can be found here.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

The other consideration here is if you have sgwers as bb, do you have to play it this week. Can you get better fixtures in gw36 or gw38 for sgwers if you are playing tc in gw37. I have Salah so will only bb if he is likely to start against Liverpool.

if I BB IN 37 then max 2FT even if I take 2hits will that be worth or not, i have no idea

and then i have forcefully play BB IN38

I think my FH team comes down to this final desision:
    Salah and De Gea, or
    Sanchez and McCarthy

Will decide once the Salah situation is clearer, but edging towards the switch to Sanchez.

FH for this week? If so, it's got to be Sanchez this week. Two great fixtures, nailed to play and in form. We know he's explosive and this week looks delicious. He's the player I fear most this week (I'm a Salah owner, and currently not selling him).

      1. FplBerg
        • 14 Years
        6 years, 7 months ago

Yeah. Also have Salah fear tho, even if it is only for 1 week.

I'm in a luxury position to use Salah's value without selling him, so I feel I should take it.

In my opinion you 100 percent should. Free hit means only 11 needed, so no chance of having both?

I also have Eriksen, Mahrez, Kane, Vardy and Lukaku (made possible because I have very cheap GK and Def), so I'd need to sacrifice one of those to place both Salah and Sanchez this week.

Of those, maybe I'd drop Mahrez, but I really like the idea of packing my team with DGW attacking heavyweights.

Your final sentence says it all, imo that's Sanchez.

Obviously both good options, but Sanchez with double looks too tasty. Fortune favours the brave etc...

In a similar situation (FH34) and sold Salah last night.

May backfire, but one of the advantages of FH is being able to take risks without longer term problems.

Not sure we'll know whether Salah plays on the weekend or not - or how long he plays. With so much money wrapped up in him, makes sense to aim high with Sanchez. If nothing else, the dgw should hopefully mitigate the risk of a Salah haul.

    GW 34 Bench Boost Team:

    DDG Ryan
    Alonso Mustafi Robertson Chilwell Lowton
    Salah* Mahrez Son Mkhi* Willian
    Auba* Vardy Barnes

0 ITB. Plan to FH in 35 and TC in 37.

Which -4 transfers would you rather have for Auba, Salah and Mkhi?

    A. Kane, Eriksen, Lingard
    B. Lukaku, Alli, Pogba

Good day all. With many bench boosting this week and bringing Kane (and/or Lukaku) in this week there may be some jiggling to be done up top. To afford Kanentrance many will be looking for good cheaper options with doubles to maximise the BB and take home lots of lovely points.

Who do you like from the pack of sub-7/6.5 mil strikers with DGWs:

Barnes - v popular on here, in good form (4 goals in the last 5, only one blank) and cheap at 5.4. Burnley have two home games against two good teams with leaky defences.

Austin - Fantasy favourite, adores goals and Southampton need to win games immediately. Two double game weeks, and GW37 (if they're still alive) looks tasty. 5.8 mil, slight rotation risk but looks set to start both as only proven scorer they have.

Wood - less loved than Barnes, but arguably more explosive and seems like the main man when fit. Good form (4 in 4, one blank), bit more expensive at 6.3. Differential at only 2.4% ownership.

Murray - two doubles (34 much better than 37), but with Brighton nearly safe he may be rested. Solid scorer, and (hopefully still) on pens. 6.0 mil.

Wilson - double this week, but very out of form. King at 7.0 looks preferable.

Any others tickle your fancy? Or is there a SGW option that stands out?

Barnes and Austin both look good. Not Wood as he is like for like with Vokes. Don't fancy Murray or Wilson. I currently have King - these are tough games but it's not worth a hit to change him on his current form.

Should I do Aubameyang and Salah to Kane and Pogba?

Would give me 11 x DGWs but no Salah is a worry. Can get him back on FH in 35.

Wait & see how Salah looks tonight. Can easily outscore any DGW player vs. BOU

O' well at least I tried.

    Thanks for your email.

Opta, who provide us with our stats, have determined that Kane made no contact on the ball in this instance, and subsequently that the goal was scored by Eriksen.

Eriksen has therefore been awarded points for scoring two goals in this match.

For the avoidance of doubt, points awarded in-game are subject to change up until one hour after the final whistle of the last match of any given day. Once the points have all been updated on that day, no further adjustments to points will be made.
