Lewandowski focal point of overlooked World Cup match

Robert Lewandowski (£9.5m) is the Fantasy focal point of Poland’s opening game of the World Cup against Senegal – but Fantasy managers have largely steered clear of this fixture.

The Bayern Munich striker is one just two players in the match with more than five percent ownership on McDonald’s FIFA World Cup Fantasy game, sitting in 8.5% of squads.

Meanwhile, midfielder Salif Sane’s lowly price of £4.5m convinced 6.6% of managers to use him as a budget enabler.

Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane (£8.5m) hasn’t been particularly fancied for goals by Fantasy managers as he is owned by just 3.6%.

      Just sold him, hadn't planned on it but Colombia didn't impress and James didn't look sharp! The sending off excuses it a little but Isco seems a better option now and it allowed me to upgrade Ziyach to a Jessie Lingard punt 😉

          But if Suarez does well, you probably won't switch the captaincy to Messi anyway. Similar to having Ronaldo and Suarez and not captaining one of them. I see your point though

      Captaincy option doesn't reduce the expected score of Suarez or Ronaldo, so I wouldn't drop CR7 on that basis.

      I am also thinking cheap defence but as it doesn't allow a 3rd big hitter in midfield I am not sure?
