Unless question time can cover more than 3 questions, I'd much rather see another set of scout notes on a Sunday morning.

I’ve watched all the Liverpool games this season up until yesterday. An observation I had made is that Salah simply isn’t playing well. As a fan I’ve been frustrated with him as he seems to be making loads more poor passes (he would be to blame for a 2-2 with PSG if Firmino hadn’t saved the day). He also doesn’t look happy and although he is still getting plenty of chances he is missing them and generally not looking happy. It’s a real concern that his level has dropped given how pivotal he was last season.

However watching MOTD I noticed a difference. He was playing with a smile on his face, linking well and getting plenty of chances (good chances but he didn’t miss a glaring chance like in previous games). His back heel attempt shows he is still as confident as ever.

Before yesterday as an FPL owner I really wished I didn’t own him. I honestly thought there was a chance he’d be benched given his midweek performance (just to reiterate his midweek - he was subbed off when Liverpool were searching for a winner, something I don’t think would have happened last season). I was already planning on getting rid for Chelsea, as he didn’t look the same player as last season - one that can win a match on his own and is ‘fixture-proof’. However after seeing the highlights now I’m prepared to keep. Firstly because he can score in any game when in form and secondly because, in last seasons form, he is truly ‘essential’ for games with Huddersfield and Cardiff in GW9/10.

Tl;dr I think Salah has been playing badly but perhaps turned a corner against Southampton. If you saw the full game, and have been watching Liverpool in general this season, would you say his performance was much better vs Southampton and that he looks back to his best? Or is he still off the pace as he has looked all season?

What are you doing with Mendy? I went with early move VVD ---> Trippier (because of WC still in my pocket, going with agressive/early transfers). Mendy still in my team. I know I want him back when he will be ok. Wan-Bissaka playing until then. Went with VVD out, because I want TAA after City. Good plan?

Drop Salah or Mane for HAZ (after the CHE game)??

I'd like to see a hot topic on Wan Bissaka and how an in-form £4.2m defender impacts:

A) The holy trinity in defence
B) The structure of your starting and non starting 5 defenders
C) The formation you play - i.e. Playing 4 or 5 at the back more often.

As a PVA owner I've been taking a closer look at AWB stats. He offers almost no goal threat but reasonable assist potential and he seems to be a BPS darling because of his CBI and net tackles and not for his baseline bps.

Already perplexed by a benching headache
