Dugout Discussion

Gudmundsson misses out for Burnley as Brady deputises on the wing

The final match of Gameweek 13 takes place this evening between Burnley and Newcastle United, with kick-off at Turf Moor delayed by half an hour to 20:30 GMT because of a “medical emergency” at the ground.

This fixture will be of limited interest to many Fantasy managers, with not a single player on show owned by more than 10% of us.

Joe Hart (£4.5m) boasts the highest ownership of the Fantasy Premier League assets featuring this evening, sitting in 9.0% of squads.

The former Manchester City goalkeeper comes into this match off the back of a 10-point haul against Leicester City in Gameweek 13, having kept a clean sheet at the King Power Stadium and topped up his returns with save and bonus points.

No Premier League goalkeeper has made more saves than Hart this season.

Both of Burnley’s most-owned outfielders, James Tarkowski (£4.8m) and Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£6.0m) miss out through injury tonight.

Only three FPL midfielders have registered more assists than Gudmundsson this season, with the Iceland international a particular menace at set plays – so Robbie Brady (£5.4m) would seem likely to play a more prominent role at free-kicks and corners tonight.

That could be significant given that Newcastle have conceded more attempts from dead-ball situations than any other side in 2018/19.

The Magpies come into this fixture off the back of a three-match unbeaten run and successive wins over top-half opposition in Watford and Bournemouth.

Three of the four clean sheets that Rafael Benitez’s side has registered this season have come away from home.

Newcastle are without regular left-back Paul Dummett (£4.4m), however, who misses out with a hamstring problem. Ciaran Clark (£4.5m) fills in for the sidelined Wales international in Benitez’s only change.

Jonjo Shelvey (£5.3m) is back among the substitutes after recovering from injury, though Jamaal Lascelles (£4.7m) and Yoshinori Muto (£5.7m) miss out.

Salomon Rondon (£5.7m), fresh from a brace against Bournemouth, leads the line for the Magpies once more.

Chris Wood (£6.2m) and Sam Vokes (£5.3m) are paired up front again by Sean Dyche, who has Steven Defour (£5.4m) fit and available to start in central midfield.

Burnley XI: Hart; Lowton, Mee, Long, Taylor; Lennon, Defour, Cork, Brady; Vokes, Wood.

Newcastle United XI: Dubravka; Yedlin, Schar, Fernandez, Clark; Diame, Ki; Ritchie, Perez, Kenedy; Rondon.

True. But he hasn't exactly excelled. You could get him just don't be too suprised if he loses his spot.

What doyou think of this wildcard team?

    Fabianski
    TAA - Doherty - Robertson
    Sterling - Hazard - Sane - Kenedy
    Aguero - Kane - Jimenez

    Button - AWB - Camarasa - Peltier

I wouldn't be able to afford that. I prefer Sane at the moment for less money. He is easy to trade to a Spurs mid or Silva etc if required

I think dropping one of Hazard/Kun/Kane may give cash to get a better bench, 4th mid and 3rd forward.

I think Arnie has flattered to deceive.

Arnie/Siggy are 3.7m more than Jimenez/Brooks. I am not convinced that they are worth the additional amount. The 3 you mentioned offer great captaincy options as well.

The thing is he has slowed down since gameweek 4. Both Liverpool defenders have kept pace. Christensen could be an option. He should start over Luiz in midweek and the word is if he does well he may start on Saturday. My gamble is that TAA keeps pace at 2m less. He won't. But he may not be too far behind.

I can do that for free as well. It is another option. At the moment I think Robbo is performing as consistently as any team and Liverpool look as consistent as any team defensively. They are solid more than explosive and we are still getting used to that change from last season.

Bellerin is the other player I could switch him to and divert funds elsewhere but for now I am more worried about losing Robertson than Alonso.

Sorry asked the question incorrectly last page. Playing a draft game where ONLY goals and assists get you points. Who would you DROP out of these in order to get Paterson:

    A) Hernandez
    B) Iheanacho
    C) Jota

I don't think either team had any highly owned players. The score wouldn't have mattered too much whatever it was.

I didn't own Richarlson at the weekend. His blank was very lucky for me.

It didn't do any harm that Gud was out - except for a few very fortunate ones with TAA or AWB 1st sub,
Great news (and planning) that you still have that WC to play .... a big advantage over most of us.

    Hello guys,
Bit off topic with current gw scenario but need some advice.

    1. How many bench players we need on an avg during Christmas period ?? 2 or 3 ??
    2. If 2 which is the best mid fodder ?? Mid because no forward starting is below 5m except Success which i don't like much as an option because of deeney and other striker

    Thank you !!

3 is ideal but 2 is fine most weeks. It depends on your team. A 3.8m defender is the cheapest way to put in a throwaway sub. However, Kamara is over 1mil less than the cheapest nailed forward. There is some logic to pick him and go 3-5-2 Or 4-4-2. The issue is there are 3 decent options at sub 6m upfront. The same is not true in midfield.

Bench Richarlison this week and play both for the next two. Then review. If I had to make a decision now it would be to keep Siggy.

If want to transfer out it has to be richa. Not this gw though, you can rest him. I'd look at schurlle from gw17 though !!

Hi, hoping somebody can please help answer this. Next weekend’s fixtures start on 30th November and finish 2nd December.

Am I right on thinking the scores will all go into November because that’s when the Gameweek started? Just checking for my manager of the month competition.

After watching last night I think I'll have to keep Salah at least until GW16. Burnley are terrible, can't believe how far they've regressed since last season.

They are awful.Sew my above post.Pool's result tonight may decide whether their big guns play in that match. They have a pretty congested 3 game span of Burnley Bournemouth napoli

    **REPOST FOR MORE OPINIONS**

Guys, I'm quite at a loss as to what to do here? But there is something about this team that I just don't like at the moment...

    GK: Ederson (Hamer)
DEF: Alonso, Robertson, Laporte, TAA (AWB)
MID: Hazard, Mane, Gudmundsson (Fraser, Richarlison)
    FWD: Aguero, Arnie (Wilson)

    1 FT, 0.3M

    Cheers lads 🙂

Time to get rid of the Haz?
Thinking Hazard + Mane > Salah + Felipe Anderson

I moved Haz already. (Due to price changes) Dangerous move considering Fulham next game.
Mane is obvious downgrade for Salah so you expect 3 mil more value in Salah. Not so sure. Mane actually scoring at the same rate (8 points per 100 minutes) as Salah atm. No reason to think this will change.

I am guessing but he has done a tfr and he dropped .3 in TV and his money ITB went down by .1. An assuming he did Haz to Sterling. He did Sane last week and I bottled it after going on about what a good differential it would be.
