Key Leicester assets all start as Rodgers becomes boss

Leicester City’s key Fantasy assets have all kept their places for the first game after Claude Puel’s reign came to a close.

Brendan Rodgers’ arrival at the King Power Stadium was confirmed around the same time as the team news was released.

He will see Jamie Vardy (£8.8m), Harvey Barnes (£5.5m), James Maddison (£6.6m), Demarai Gray (£5.4m) and Ricardo Pereira (£5.4m) all in the starting line-up.

There was also a return to the side for Ben Chilwell (£5.0m) after he missed Gameweek 27.

There will also be plenty of interest in the Wolves side as they head to Huddersfield.

Nuno Espirito Santo has named the usual suspects in his starting XI, with Raúl Jiménez (£6.8m), Matt Doherty (£5.4m) and Diogo Jota (£6.1m) all involved from the beginning.

It will be interesting to see how they get on against a Terriers side that has run eight chances after Saturday’s defeat to Newcastle.

Everton are now back in FPL action for the first time since Gameweek 26, and they have done so with minimal changes.

Richarlison (£6.6m), Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.2m) and Lucas Digne (£5.3m) are all on the team-sheet to face Cardiff, who have also made the usual number of changes to their attacking line-up.

There will be plenty of interest in the 8pm televised kick-off between Newcastle and Burnley.

That game features two popular budget strikers in Salomón Rondón (£5.9m) and Ashley Barnes (£5.7m).

Miguel Almirón (£6.0m), unfortunate to blank on his full home debut, is also in the starting line-up for the Magpies.

Kenneth Zohoré (£4.6m) starts up front, with Junior Hoilett (£5.0m), Bobby Reid (£5.2m) and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (£4.8m) behind him.

Cardiff XI: Etheridge; Bennett, Bamba, Morrison, Ecuele Manga; Gunnarsson, Bacuna; Hoilett, Reid, Mendez-Laing; Zohoré.

Everton XI: Pickford; Digne, Jagielka, Keane, Coleman; Gueye, Schneiderlin; Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Walcott; Calvert-Lewin.

Huddersfield XI: Lössl; Stankovic, Schindler, Kongolo; Duhaney, Hogg, Billing, Durm; Pritchard; Mounie, Grant.

Wolves XI: Rui Patrício; Bennett, Coady, Boly; Doherty, Dendoncker, Rúben Neves, João Moutinho, Jonny; Jiménez, Diogo Jota

Leicester XI: Schmeichel; Ricardo Pereira, Evans, Maguire, Chilwell; Tielemans, Ndidi, Maddison; Gray, Vardy, Barnes.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Montoya, Duffy, Dunk, Bong; Groß, Stephens, Pröpper; Knockaert, Murray, March.

Newcastle XI: Dubravka; Lejeune, Lascelles, Schär; Ritchie, Longstaff, Hayden, Manquillo; Perez, Almirón; Rondón.

Burnley XI: Heaton; Taylor, Mee, Tarkowski, Bardsley; McNeil, Hendrick, Cork, Gudmundsson; Wood, Barnes.

Maybe Salah, depending on how he and Liverpool look tonight. Maybe Aguero, depending on how fresh he is.
      Maybe Pogba.

        Pereira away @ Watford.
        (It's a hit considering gw 31/33 squad)

What do you think Holmes ??

Not a bad fixture for Pereira, personally I would avoid Luiz move for now

            I'd get Luiz.
Arsenal defense is awful. Even if Chelsea playing badly they still keep CS against minnows.
Luiz also have nice threat attacking wise (not as good as kola tbh)

Not bad but maybe better if u get Hazard first instead of Higuan if u want to go Chelsea Attackers. Probably for Son/Pogba

        Actually the problem is Auba.
Need to sell him & Aguero having so many matches not looking good to me.

As mentioned below I'm going to get Hazard for Son near gw 30/31.

I'd look at getting in Hazard rather than Higuain.
      Maybe Vardy instead of Higuain.

Thinking about doubling up near gw 31.
So Higuain now + Hazard for Son in gw 30/31.

        What do you think ??

        1. King Kohli
          • 12 Years
          5 years, 8 months ago

I'm thinking along the same lines but not sure between Higuain or Vardy.
Vardy will thrive under Rodgers imo. He's also on Penalties and you're spreading the risk by getting him instead of doubling up on Chelsea attack.
Next couple of games should tell us more about both teams and help in making a decision.

I feel Luiz + Hazard could be enough Chelsea for gw 31 & 33.

Jota to Gray in gw 30 is also a good option. Rogers should start him against Watford though for that.

The only differences in our teams will be o will have Hugain for Vardy and Almiron for Pereira. 31 will fairly template I think with the lack of choices.
      Moves seem fine.

I still have about 1.8 to spare with these moves completed. How much should you have ITB when all moves completed?

True, but the difference is where the shots are taking place. Maddison's are all outside the box specials, whereas Barnes looks more likely to get short-range attempts. It's the quality of Barnes' positioning that makes him look the real deal from an FPL perspective, as well as the price.

Everything about his play and stats screams 'goals imminent'. He's getting into the right spots, the chances are there, and it's surely only a matter of time before he converts it into strong FPL returns. I'm planning to get him in, it's just a matter of when I can make the move before GW31.

You mean they won't confirm it until after GW31, but it could be a DGW32 for Chelsea even if Brighton lose their cup game. If they win it, it is very likely a double for Chelsea in 32.
              Am I getting this right?

Brighton need two games rescheduled and Chelsea away is one of them, so a Chelsea double (car, BHA) is probable but not yet set in stone. Brighton play Millwall in the final game of the cup QF round on 17/3.

Yes, week 32 and 35 are dgws, you could use triple on the last week as it is usually high scoring.

I think last week was the time to ditch Son if doing so. B for me, although I do like Hazard as an option.

Would you rather have (gw30 transfer) in defense:
(I am free hitting in week 32)
    Diop (car, HUD, che)
    or
    Smith (hud, NEW, BUR)?
Both 4.3m, Bennett will be leaving the building.

Which of these do you prefer for next gw? FHing in 31. 2FT’s.

    A) Auba > Vardy
    B) Auba > Higuain
    C) Pogba > Hazard
    D) Auba + Pogba > Vardy + Hazard
    E) Auba + Pogba > Higuain + Hazard

Not anything involving Pogba just yet. Keep him for Southampton.
Tough call between Vardy and Higuain, Higuain not nailed.

Quite fancy Hazard down that side of Fulham’s terrible defence...

What's the best play for those without WC and TC?

    (1) Build for GW31, FH in GW32, and take hits between GW33 - 35 in order to BB in GW35

    (2) Somewhat ignore GW31, build for GW32, FH in GW33, and BB in GW35

    Cheers

I have also used up my WC and in January and looking to do this

      A) build for 31 n 33 - currentlyy own mane salah Luiz vardy lascelles HarveyBarnes and will get Boruc TAA and a MF so I can bench aguero n pogba Jimenez

      B) free hit 32 - will use salahs funds to bring in 11 DGWers as Liverpool is playing spurs

      C) will get 1 or two arsenal players as they have 4 games in 3 GWs

      D) depending on the double gameweeks fixtures will look to replace vardy mane Luiz etc for son rashford lacazzatte etc
