How Kane injury affects best midfield options for second Wildcards this weekend

Fantasy Premier League managers now have plenty of money to spend on their midfield for their second Wildcards.

With an injury to Harry Kane (£12.6m) and Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) still not really cutting it, there’s an opportunity to go for some truly pragmatic picks in this position between now and the end of the season.

We’ve taken a look at what impact Kane’s absence will have on his array of midfield colleagues, before going into detail to find the best options from all clubs in this position.

As this article uses extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members’ Area, only members themselves can read on and enjoy the analysis.

Now that we are past the half-way stage, memberships are now available for just £10, so make sure you get the most of it while you can by signing up HERE.

    Which option is better:
    A: Watford D (4.8) + Jota + Lloris
    B: Trippier+ WP+ Foster

None of the doubles appeals. The SGW players are more likely to score bigger points

Harry Kane is expected to be out for up to three months with his latest ankle injury.

The ligament damage means that he will not only miss the rest of Tottenham Hotspur’s season but will not lead England at June’s Uefa Nations League final in Portugal which will be a huge blow to Gareth Southgate.

Want to get two attackers from each of City, Spurs and Liverpool. Best way to do it seems to be without Aguero.

How does this look for a front 8?

    Sterling, KDB, Eriksen, Son, Mane
    Firmino, Jiminez, Deeney

      I'm considering similar.

A Kun benching this week wouldn't be surprising, and fixtures not brilliant in 35. Relatively easy to downgrade KDB and bring him in for 36.

Alternatively, Sterling and Deeney can become Aguero and 5th midfielder. City is tough to decide....

I'm seeing a lot of WC teams without Salah but people talking about bringing him in (and triple captaining) him in GW36. What's your current plan for doing this? Who are you sacrificing?

Waiting on form. If he scores a few in the interim, he'll be worth a hit. If he's still scratting about for the odd assist, I'll do without.

Eriksen over Sterling (alongside Son(c)) for this week, leaving 5.9 ITB?

    My thinking behind it:
    - we should have a better picture of who may start DGWs, all the way up til deadline to make final decision
    - will know if city are out of UCL
    - sterling, who I do currently have, played full 90midweek - possible rest more likely than eriksen?

Yes no City attack would be a risk, but the reasons make sense, no?

    Lloris Foster
    Robertson Laporte Duffy Doherty Valery
    Eriksen Son(c) Mane Pogba* Hojbjerg*
    Vardy* Jimenez Deeney

    * potential upgrades in 35 with the 5.9 ITB

5.9 ITB is an awful lot.

Fine to go City-less, and have some money prepared in case, but yeah.

Remember you only have 3 FTs till season-end. If a problem arises in your squad elsewhere, and still want a City player/Salah etc in, you may have to take a hit to afford it.
