Scoutcast tackles De Bruyne conundrum as Chelsea find form

The Scoutcast is back to discuss all of the key talking points ahead of Gameweek 30.

You can watch the show on our YouTube channel between 20:00 GMT and 21:00 GMT.

Firstly, we’ll discuss what to do with Kevin De Bruyne (£10.6m), who missed Sunday’s Manchester derby and is still a doubt for Arsenal’s trip to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.

Then, Chelsea are the team to go under the microscope as they build some good form ahead of some favourable fixtures.

Finally, we continue to work on our advanced planning for Blank Gameweek 31 now that we have a greater idea about the fixtures and which players we may want – or not!

We will also consider the potential effect of Coronavirus on the Premier League, and, therefore, our Fantasy teams.

Too much money involved for that.

Even as bad as Italy is now, they're still just delaying things by a further month.

How much can they delay? There are the euros in the summer. Which I believe will be cancelled now too.
Arsenal played westham after...so their games need to be postponed too...who knows who the staff and players came in contact with.

These guys are gonna try saving as best they can for the money involved. But it's over!

Federations have requested the Euro's to move to 2021, to allow for the completion of competitions later in the year - when the worst of it is behind Europe.

Contact with WHU and others only relevant if Arsenal players have COVID-19, which isn't the case as of now.

This is not fair. How can they end the GW so abruptly.. Plenty had Auba (c) and KDB 🙁 .. They should suspend the league for a month and reassess after that.

It’ll only get worse, get as many games in now as possible. But this postponement is currently a one off purely due to the Olympiacos situation, very unlucky but real life safety is more important than football always

  4. Niho992

As non KdB and Auba owner i feel good but also i feel for those who owns these..

But let be honest. There are things which are more important than football

  5. Rainer

Tomorrow's game off purely due to Arsenal vs Olympiacos 13 days ago.

Unspecified number of players met the owner post-game. Staff members sat near him.

"The players will remain at their homes until the 14-day period expires (Thursday). Four Arsenal staff, who were sitting close to Mr Marinakis during the match will also remain at home until the 14 days are complete."

It is protocol for those who were in contact with someone who has COVID-19 to self-isolate for 14 days, even if they themselves haven't tested positive...

"We look forward to the players and staff returning to work on Friday in preparation for our match at Brighton."

    Arsenal expecting no further postponements.

They won't be taking away football just yet, but behind closed doors is imminent. Perhaps a month or two of down time for when COVID-19 peaks in the UK and a completion of games later into the year, with the Euro's moved to 2021, as requested by many federations.

"The medical advice we have received puts the risk of them developing Covid-19 at extremely low. However, we are strictly following the Government guidelines which recommend that anyone coming into close contact with someone with the virus should self-isolate at home for 14 days from the last time they had contact."

If players having contact with one person with the coronavirus is enough to result in a match cancellation, it is hard to believe there won't be other matches cancelled, maybe several.

This game was cancelled due to players being in contact with an infected individual.

Nothing to suggest any other players in the league have currently, though it's a possibility we must consider as the season goes on.

I don't understand what you mean. If an Arsenal player has coronavirus they have obviously been in contact with the rest of the squad and the West Ham players.

And if they're tested positive (unlikely, I stress again), we would see knock on impacts.

For empty stadions if players self isolate themselves somehow or are at least healthy. I think they are considering that now. Similar way as in Spain is a possibility imo.

Is it worth using hf31 to have

Mane, Ali, Antonio/Wood, Doherty, Aurie +(6 players)

    Vs non fh team

    Boly , Robertson+(6 players)

(6 players) same in both options
Pope, Taa, Salah, Sarr, Jota, Jimene,

It's not only about the title. What happens to Champions League and Europa League spots? Relegation places? Domestic cup games?

If it does go down the path of cancellation of the season it would be a travesty if Liverpool weren't crowned champions (as much as I would enjoy it :D) but realistically I don't see a clear solution unless the whole season is scrapped and we start next season with the same teams as this year.

Also, what happens if the virus is still a thing at the start of next season? There's a lot of uncertainties atm

Similar viruses (they're not sure if it's the same for this one) depends on a fatty layer to allow it to transmit through the air. Heat increases how quickly this is broken down, and so the virus is unable to 'live' as long in the air, ie lower transmission rates.

I'd recommend reading up on it though, I'm definitely not s doctor - just going on my supreme GCSE Biology knowledge and what BBC have said 😉

Going by that logic, then why are people affected in Australia and Singapore? There is no evidence as of yet to suggest that the virus will die in summers.. the low case rate in African and South American and some Asian countries is due to the sub standard health system and inability to carry out tests for a large of people..

About 20% have no history of travel, and 60% of those have close/direct links with people who have returned from overseas.

There's only about 10 cases total of community transmission for people with no connection to people bringing it back.

I didn't know, that's why I asked. I imagine some African countries wouldn't have the same facilities for diagnosing the virus as East Asia and Europe (which might skew numbers further), but fair enough either way.

The only reason why they're trying to delay the virus until summer, is because the NHS is at its peak in the winter, due to other illnesses.

The NHS isn't as rammed in the summer.
They're not delaying the virus, because they think the heat will kill it.
They're delaying it, to relieve the NHS strain in treating infected patients.

Singapore is struggling to contain the Corona virus.
What makes us think the British climate will do any better in burning it off?

I am in Cambodia. Very hot. Only 2 cases confirmed but no-one believes the government and widespread panic about faintings in markets. Vietnam border closed to most nationalities inc UK

Countries and regions currently in winter like Poland, Russia, Baltic states, Scandinavia don't have many cases either atm (relatively speaking).

Hokkaido has the most cases within Japan though. The coldest region in Japan. So can’t really seem to draw conclusions based on climate at this point, it seems.

    In other news...

Surely the fixture difficulty rankings on the fpl website are still wrong. They're 1 to 5 but the easiest one "1" is never used for some reason while 5 is. Liverpool at home to Aston Villa is a "2" right now. What would be a 1 if not that? Even if the chart were made at the beginning of the season, it's still a promoted side and most likely, even speculatively, bottom of the scale, which is 1.

The season will be finished, be it at the regular May date or further into the Summer.

Are the relegated sides just going to accept relegation, or if all void, Leeds accept not getting promoted?

I can get 10 players without hits so I'll hold it on the off-chance the season continues as normal.

Who knows, might come in handy with future postponements.

Nope. I have 8 players. Since even public events haven't been cancelled, I believe they will soon continue playing behind closed doors. The economical hit with worldwide tv-rights would be huge if PL was cancelled.

Smooth: 19 points from Barnes off the bench!

Rough: Living in Southeast Asia, I am witnessing the impact that COVID is having on the Health Systems, companies and the broader economy. The amount of job losses, health impacts, and overall productivity decrease will have an impact on everyone in our world for years to come.

Rough #2: McCarthy on my bench for 12 points...

Also in SE asia, getting a little annoyed that I am still seeing the causal attitude of 'it's just the flu' from family members back home. No, you (probably) won't die. But if a family member in a high risk category did get it, they might need a hospital bed and specialist equipment. Therefore containment at this point is a very good idea. Something the UK seems to be doing VERY half-hearted.

        Yes - agree.

Singapore as a country is easy to contain compared to others - and they REALLY tried - and it's still a growing concern - just takes one person being complacent.. and unfortunately there's lots of people.
