    Turner
    Chilwell - Estupinan - Gabriel
    Maddison - Odegaard - Saka - Rashford - Bruno F.
    Haaland - Jackson

    Pickford - Udogie - Kaboré - Archer

    A) Roll FT and use double UTD vs NFO GW 3
    B) Bruno -> Luis Diaz as a Pool stable for next +5 GW's
    C) Bruno -> Diaby as a Villa stable for next +5 GW's

I'd roll unless you feel strongly about Bruno F > Diaz which seems a decent upside move.

Which of Gabriel or Stones would you be most likely to keep longer term?

Obviously both may not seem like long term options atm but which one you reckon has a better shout?

May move one on for James this GW..

    Which defender to bench?

    Henry, Cash, Estupinan, Gabriel.
    Gusto.

    Playing 3-5-2.

Cash is most likely to get a clean sheet imo, with Henry and Estupinan selected for attacking returns.

Is it Gabriel then? How quickly the tables turn.

I reckon Villa at home have a better chance than Arsenal at Palace on Monday night.

For what it's worth Cash was awful against Newcastle, got ripped to shreds by Gordon in particular, should have been booked early on so I wouldn't have been surprised by an early sub if that happened. Everton are Everton but they definitely have a few players that will trouble that high defensive line with runs in behind, not too confident on a cs myself

True but he did have a pretty much open net that he missed and you would expect him to put them chances away. I have Cash but more for the attacking returns as he does get very forward.

I might have messed up with my Villa defence but we'll see if they turn it around.

Villa were tight last season under Emery but no Mings and a new system etc.

I wouldn't worry about the Newcastle result too much. I was actually considering Gabriel - Digne still (but probably going to roll). Only slight issue is Cash not predicted to start here which makes it a tricky decision between him/Henry, but I fully expect a Villa CS

Having a real hard time deciding between Alvarez and Isak. Despite my feeling that owning any City player outside of Haaland being a trap, Alvarez has more appeal in terms of expected gametime whilst Newcastle fixtures are not great just now. FWIW I currently have Haaland / Watkins.

    1. Tonyawesome69
      • 5 Years

Issue with Isak is Newcastle will have midweek UCL fixtures from GW5 onwards and Howe has Isak and Wilson vying for the CF spot.

Up to you, but I wouldn't take Isak until we've got a clearer picture of the pecking order for the No 9 spot at Newcastle.
I do think that Alvarez is a good punt tho.

I think the pecking order is Isak is first choice.

But, and it's big one, there will be a lot of rotation, especially once Champions League games start. Isak offers more to the overall team than Wilson does. And even when one starts, the other will replace them as a sub in pretty much every game I'd expect. Don't think they'll play together often at all.

Isak is first in line, even if he rotates on 65 mins.

If Wilson starts, then Isak will normally too.

            Fair enough.

            Isak it is.

Very unlikely both Isak and Wilson start now given our other options for the wide attacking roles. Didn't really work that well last season when they both started together either, Isak was pretty ineffective from the left.

I've heard both WGTA and BlackBox podcasts this week talking about the impact of leaks. While I don't like the leaking and do think it has an unfair impact, I'm not sure that focusing transfers on taking out a player benched/rested for a week or short-term injured will give a clear advantage over a whole season. If someone leaks that Haaland isn't starting, for example, then of course you might change your captain, but if you transfer him out to get a replacement is that really the best use of a valuable transfer that week? Tranfers should be used to get longer term benefit, surely?

      It's a fair point.

Panic sales... but this was for free of course.

Andy has asked his Arsenal club contact to not share specific team news again. It matters because it was a unique leak for Gabriel and Saka last season that no one else had.

Arsenal team sheets tend not to leak like Man City or Liverpool for example.

That's the rational approach, of course. I suspect there is a temptation to 'overreact' to leaked information, though, and it may not end up being as beneficial as assumed.

Crazy to put Palmer in next week? He's looking very dangerous when he plays and if he carries on could easily take that rw spot. (that's if they don't sign a rw before end of the season)

You know, he looks a very good option.

      Get ahead of the crowd?

That's what I was thinking, he even looks better than Foden when playing off the right. Only concern is obviously minutes but I was thinking of swapping him for my 6.5m option (eze).

I mean the only other player that's probably available for that spot currently is Foden and he hasn't played there yet in City's 3 games so far, right? Think it's his spot to lose. But if Bernardo is fit at the weekend or next weekend it's probably short-lived

I think with no De Bruyne, Bernado will play a lot more centrally.

With Chelsea options reckon it would be better going for James and Chillwell instead of one defender and Sanchez?

Also, keep Eze for expected points and fixtures after this week or swap out for Diaby?

It's the biggest cliché or truism on here.

It isn't really the only reasoning. There is also a risk premium to a differential.

You might think he is more likely to score more points, but there is a significantly higher risk to you if he doesn't. Whereas you benefit from his points significantly even if he isn't your captain.

It is an absolutely right call on paper, and you shouldn't feel bad for taking a risk on Salah even if it doesn't work out, or in other words, if Haaland outscores him.

yes. City vs Newcastle will not be an easy game I reckon. Especially since City just played 120 minutes last night. Even if Haaland only scores 1 and Salah blanks it is not that big of a loss so I'm definitely going Salah.

This is a fair point, although the evening kickoff probably helps. First home game of the season as well, and Newcastle haven't been water tight for a long time. I could see another goal first like the 3-3 last season although I'm not sure which ground that was at.

I think it's something like 2-1 or 3-1 on Friday night at the City Ground.

There's an edge in Nottingham v Sheffield rivalry and under the lights on a Friday night just gives me a feeling that there's a cup tie dynamic to the game.

I'd never even heard of him before today. I'd be fuming if I was a pool fan, the end of this window has been an absolute shambles. They are also apparently in talks with Amrabat but wouldn't be surprised if he picked United over them

we will take what we can get now.. he has experience and is a club and national captain. lots of hyperbole used about pools transfer window failure, context is king. they made mistakes no doubt but people need to realise the uniqueness of what chelsea offered. contracts into the 2030s that will never come round again when these rules comes in. caicedo has barely played any prem league football, a season or so, ditto lavia, and they are on mega money long term contracts. what were liverpool to do? chelsea offered just 4 million more in then end but it was way more than that when you look at the very acheivable ad ons which will trigger another 15 million for brighton.

I think it's just the way they've gone about it that would be worrying. Like City it used to be that Pool would have very set targets and then sign them whereas this season it seems to be a bit all over the place.
