Punt poll, first to three. You can only select one midfielder and one striker:

    Neto, Mbeumo, Eze

    Hojlund, Wilson or Awoniyi

Probably loads of WC's in play this week considering the bad scores most got. With the GW6 fixtures, it is the wrong week to WC in my humble opinion unless you never had Saka, Mo and Alvarez.

    Two questions

    1. Anyone concerned a bit about the lack of clean sheets? I have Estupinan and Cash and whilst they are attacking players, their defences are awful so far. City are a rotation nightmare, Onana has faced 12 shots in his United career and conceded 9 goals. Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs don't look watertight. It's gonna be a crap year for defenders ain't it.

    2. Having said that, anyone looking at bringing in Trent when he is back from injury? I have Salah and Haaland so fitting him in will be difficult but not impossible

    1. FOO FIGHTER
      • 5 Years
      1 year, 2 months ago

Get in 5 defenders which rotate well. I posted some combo's earlier so just search my profile. You won't have to pick a defender facing City, Ars, LFC, Spurs etc up to starting from GW10 up to GW18 in any given week. You just pick 3 out of the defenders with best fixtures. Your defenders will be playing against, Luton, Fulham, SHU etc most of the time. You will just have to do your own work compiling all the fixtures.

      1. rozzo
        • 11 Years

But nobody is keeping clean sheets thats the point.

Fulham and Sheff United can score against anyone

Not sure "deal with inactive players" is worth an article either.
This site used to provide useful football analysis and explanations of player movements during attacking and defensive play: who was looking dangerous, and how.
But this is just the same article that FPL Focal and FPL General did. 10 basic instructions that anyone who isn't a first time player would have followed anyway.

Nobody on this site is a noob but the articles on this site are increasingly geared towards new players. Or getting those new players to start gambling.

I just don't think this site knows what it is any more, or who it is trying to cater towards.

It’s your opinion and I’m fine with it if you don’t like the article, but I can see positive responses to it and I’ve had a few people tell me they enjoyed reading it.

Yes, they are easy lessons to learn but I haven’t been applying them, and actually if I drummed into myself to stop always trying to ge the top scorer each week and deal with problematic players first - I’d be in a better position.

The site tries to cater for a wide variety of experience levels and people enjoy reading different things. If these types of articles aren’t you you, just skip them?

It is like a comedy skit on a lot of levels, Az has posted the same previously. And ignored their own commandments.
Also they make no bleeding sense anyway, as they are full of contradictions.
Remain agile in your decisions, but don't transfer out 'heavy hitters' too quickly.
However, you are also supposed to make transfers to make profit and not be afraid to make transfers.
The 'advice' is all over the place almost schizophrenic.

The only advice that made any sense was watching the games, yet this was somehow spun as something of another world 'the eye test'.

It was embarrassing the first time it was posted and it gets even more embarrassing each subsequent time.

To my knowledge have never posted this before, so I’m not sure where that criticism comes from?

“Remain agile in your decisions, but don't transfer out 'heavy hitters' too quickly” - the balance of having patience with players and not locking yourself into a certain strategy is a key skill no? And consistent heavy hitters perhaps deserve a different thought process if you’ve chosen to start the season rather than a mid priced mid? That’s all that I was getting at here.

“However, you are also supposed to make transfers to make profit and not be afraid to make transfers.” Not sure what the issue is here? Don’t be afraid to make early transfers to try and improve squad value.

Thanks for the feedback, these were just supposed to be a few general tips that I’ve been guilty of neglecting

Which move to fund Baldock to Botman?

    A) Chilwell to Udogie
    B) Sterling to Diaby
    C) Foden to Mbuemo
    D) Bruno to Maddison
    E) Other (one of these guys downgraded to someone cheaper than the name listed beside them)

I reckon Chilwell is 50/50 but depends if you’ve got 3 decent defenders without him

Other than that I’d go C as I think Foden is the most likely to be rotated and Mbeumo is great.

      1. gart888
        • 10 Years

I think Chilwell starts for sure.

My defenders before this move are Chilwell, Estupinan, Gusto, Kabore, Baldock. But the whole point of this double move is to do Baldock -> Botman and get that important 4th startable defender.

Def wait. Form is temporary as are fixtures. Its 1 FT a GW for a reason. Its hard to play the long game I know. Henry 1st priority then ride the surf.

Thanks Buzzbomb, it’s really good to stop the WC urge but I think my team is fine for a couple of weeks at least. Chilwell is key for me; if he starts I reckon a couple of bad matches doesn’t change that he was previously one of Chelsea’s leading lights

Henry second priority for me and already used my FT on my first - Jackson! Brought in Alvarez and tempted to go Henry to Botman but not for a hit. Already taken two and regretted it. Will just play Udogie and pray for some unlikely returns.

Also what are we waiting for exactly? If we pretty much know we’re going to WC for the fixture swing in a couple of weeks time why not get in the likes of Salah and the Villa and Newcastle boys now and get a march on others? Narrowing down the final positions in the WC. Thoughts on this vs that?

This: Mbuemo Schar (Flekken rotate with Areola)
    or
That: Maddison Burn (Turner fodder; with main man Areola)

    Areola (____)
    Botman ____ Udogie Cash Kabore
    Salah Rashford Saka ____ Diaby
    Haaland Alvarez Archer

Mbeumo and Schar. Then Maddison in for Rash if he fails to live up to expectations again.
Or ditch Diaby and have Mbeumo and Maddison.

Unfortunately I'd be 0.1 short of Mbeumo/Maddison. Unless I drop Kabore down to a fodder 3.9m

Yep due to Mbeumo slightly more expensive than Diaby

People who want to check before the deadline if Alvarez starts. Jsckson still has good xG. Will eventually translate to some points no doubt I rather have Jackson this week than Maddison for example

I’m holding onto Jackson (I also have Alvarez). As Saka Rice says, the number of chances he gets will turn into points and there’s every cance of a return against the high line and tired legs of Villa. Plus I don’t want to waste a transfer

Massive quotes on the Forest goalkeeping situation have been missed in Cooper's press conference by scout today.

Fortunately Turner isn't a popular pick.

Cooper told BBC Sport: “Everyone knew at the end of last season that we needed to add to the goalkeeping part of the squad. I feel we are in a strong place now. It is now a really competitive area of the squad.

I think I need to get him back in. Need the cash for a certain player. Vicario to Turner gives me 1m plus he rotates well with Areola.

JWP will most likely be one of the best budget mids to own. I would not mind him but means doubling up with Bowen so I have to pass unless he starts outscoring Bowen.

Have Saka and Saliba so don't want another Arsenal.
Bruno nailed, on free kicks , pens etc, club captain which should keep him honest and cheaper than Rashford.
Worth a punt at this stage.

    Unpopular opinion I'll start.
    1) Edouard is a good 8th attacker which can be used gameweeks like this where Maddison has a tough fixture
    2) Trippier is not worth it even if you can afford him you'll likely need the cash at some point so better to spread or hold
    3) Bruno and Rashford are still good options
    4) Playing a WC is probably only worth it if you need to spend at least -8 points to get Salah in

    1. The Ilfordian

      Unpopular opinion.

I agree Salah is a good pick but think West Ham will be solid and for £4m less can keep Rashford and Saka who are both in good form

Interesting, I do like Trippier, feels like a nice placeholder for Trent/James/Chilwell too.

Re 4 I would actually rather take a -8 than play WC, I’d say -12 minimum.
I think my WC was -20 in changes

      1. Only like Edouard if playing 343 formation. Teams will need the money when looking at 2 premium setup
      2. Surely better to have someone like Trippier to downgrade for funds rather than spreading the cash which may lead to more transfers
      3. Agreed for now
      4. Curious why the basis to WC is to get Salah in

If we genuinely think Mitoma is a chance to be rested, I might seriously consider doing Mitoma to Mbuemo (-4).

Thought that I'd keep Mitoma for BOU.
