    Benchboost next week.
The goalkeepers are Dubravka and Areola.

What to do? Should I replace both for doublers?

Is it worth replacing Everton/Arsenal defenders with dgw defenders? Everton vs Sheffield at home feels a solid clean sheet chance. Arsenal defenders could return at both ends of the pitch.

    Currently, my backline is:

    Pickford
    Saliba, Gabriel, Burn

    With Branthwaite sub.

I’d maybe consider replacing Saliba with Porro or Gvardiol.

Yeah I'm tempted by Porro. Can't fo Gvardiol as I've already got 3 City in midfield and attack.

Wouldn't bother with Porro. He's a blank specialist. He's a horrible pick to own. Absolutely rubbish.

Depends if you have nothing more important to do with your free transfers in attack or in 38.

Centre halves sometimes go big in doubles.

      1. GoonerSteve
        • 14 Years
        4 months, 14 days ago

I'm pretty settled in attack. All but one are dgwers. Saka is the sgw.

I already brought in Burn with my free transfer. Saliba to Porro was the other consideration, but would be for a hit. I'd be doing it to cover myself more than out of expectation. He could haul against Burnley.

I'll probably leave it or get Porro I think.

Honestly wouldn't bother then if it was me. I hate owning Porro. No clean sheets and wayward shots with no accuracy.

Good morning. Want some early thoughts to try and finish strong. 1ft 5.7itb. Will BB37 to gain the extra fixtures.

    PETRO
    Gab Saliba Branthwaite
    GORDON PALMER Salah Saka Eze
    (H)AALAND Mateta
    Hendo Semenyo Virgil GUSTO

Thinking Mateta, Eze, Semenyo TO ISAK, FODEN, Archer -8 and 0.2itb?

Assuming Gusto is still injured or unknown for GW37. What move would you make here? Have 10 other DGWers..

A - Start Gusto, have Regulion (bou) to come in 1st sub, no hit
    B - Dalot (ARS,NEW) -4
    C - Burn (BHA,mun) -4
    D - Cucurella (nfo,bha) -4

    DALOT/CUCCURELLA - Porro - Walker
    Fernandes - Foden - Gordon - Palmer - SON
    Haaland (TC) Isak

    Team B (10 doublers)
    Pickford

One ref getting it wrong with a linesman was bad enough.

Now 3 or 4 people getting it wrong, the delay and the rules of the game being changed is frustrating.

They need to sort out the handball rule.

And what was wrong with the day light rule for offside?

      Anything level should be onside.

I am more sick of the moaning than I am of VAR. If mistakes were treated as just that instead of made such a fuss over, it wouldn’t be so boring.

I want to see ex-pros / pundits run a season of refereeing and VAR and see how they get on. Not as easy as it looks.

lol they are in a room in stockley park away from crowds, no one jeering them, were not talking about the ref at the stadium. var was meant to remove that pressure of seeing something
in in a split second action, perfectly acceptable for the ref to miss 90 percent of this stuff (and i dont mean handballs or offsides thats a rule issue leading to incosnsitent interopretation) but not VAR officials.

Yes but any decision comes with the knowledge the media are going to destroy you if you get it wrong. Not to mention clubs and managers. I mean O’Neill this season has been intolerable.

VAR is the also part of the problem. You are trying to sanitise what was once understandable uncertainty and part of the game. How can you have different rules to the same game but dependent in which league you play in ??

Yet pre-VAR all we ever heard was that the refs need help. No one accepted the uncertainty before it was all doom and gloom and the refs can’t do any right. So taking away VAR isn’t gonna solve the moaning on.

In the 90s managers would be laughed at for moaning about decisions as it was seen as excuse making.

Just seen that Isak missed a penalty, if he'd scored he'd have been hauling again and as captain making up for going with Haaland on the last wildcard in the £50k Bet365 free game.

Oh well. I'm not so invested in that and try out a different approach by and large which has also worked quite well tbf.

If you have some decent single game week players for gw37, are you thinking of holding your BB for gw38?

There's plenty of good fixtures to justify it.

Or is rotation likely to ruin it then?

Or just back Arsenal players etc to do the business at Old Trafford? Tbf I'm currently starting Saka but I've got some reinforcements planned that could alter that.

Same issue for me. 38 looks good. 37 is good only if i got multiple dgw players in bench, which requires hit (-8)

You don’t have to have 15 dgw players before you consider BB. It’s a known fact that single gw players also perform well during dgws so may as well bb.

        No, indeed.

I've currently got 7 single game picks.

Even if I had 10 doublers I might be better off waiting till gw38 to BB.

It's really as simple as betting on an Arsenal clean sheet at Old Trafford which I don't think is likely.

An edgey 0-1 win could happen, but I'd say 1-2 or 1-3 is more likely.

I guess a controlled 0-2 win is possible too.

I have suffered a similar fate at a similar rank. At least we had the cajones to try something different! I'll be going without Haaland for the rest of the season and these things can even themselves out over a few gameweeks so we'll see!

Haaland(C) with 4 goals & only small gains. Can’t even celebrate 4 goals anymore.
Well… I was taught to be grateful in every situation so can’t complain much.

Special thanks to those who wanted to be ahead of the curve & refused capping Erling.

Small gains, yeah, but huge loss if you dont captain. Fpl is not always about gain. You got to differentiate elsewhere.

But your other 10 picks still count.

Including Palmer as it's hard to make up ground even if they're a spy.

You've got to look at the team in the round.

Good morning. Do we know ANY news on Gusto. Conflicting reports of him in training and targeting todays game, but also CFC fans saying he is out for the season ??

      Ouch

The Friday deadline was always going to have a few casualties.

I do tend to set my initial thinking on Saturday tho.

Would you start Saliba away to Utd or Branthwaite home to Sheffield?

I've got Pickford and Gabriel starting already.

Not got BB so going to be painful next week.

Have I benched the correct 4?

Thinking if no injuries roll for 2FT in 38, Saka or Salah back in.

    Petrovic
    Walker, Maguire, Hall
    Foden, Son, Palmer, Bruno,
    Isak, Jackson, Haaland

    Raya, Gordon, Porro, White

    4.2 bank

    1FT

    Walker Maguire Burn
    Son Bruno Palmer Gordon
    Haaland Isak Jackson

    Pickford Maddi Porro VanHecke

Team sitting second in my ML for ages capped KdB and doesn't own Haaland. Plummeted so far on 29 points. Looking at last week's stats though KdB was the man and City's main threat so a perfectly viable strategy really.

Pushed me to stay on Palmer(c) as he'd not scored for three games so probably 'due'...At least I have Haaland!
