Given Haaland doesn't appear fit, thinking Alvarez might be worth a punt if he stays? Gives me the below with 0.5 in the bank - thoughts?

    Miguel
    Gvardiol Hall Andersen
    Palmer Salah Odegaard Son
    Alvarez Isak Wood

    Valdimarsson Rogers Barco Harwood-Bellis

      Alvarez is at the Olympics.

So no, not interested. I'd just avoid City offense if Haaland is out.

Still at the Olympics and looking to leave the club - crosses the line from "punt" to "silliness" I think

What are the odds are Barco still being in Brighton's starting XI for GW 4 & 5?
No point getting him unless he will play in these two matches.

He's easily the best 4.0m even if he gets dropped by then. He starts in an attacking position for a good team. Take the price rises when casuals see him doing well in the first couple weeks and if he nails a spot he's extreme value.

He could be on 3 points from the first 3 GWs and a transfer waiting to happen.

He's not a transfer waiting to happen if he's 4.0m.

My concern is I already want Dunk at 4.5, and Barco might be an overkill in a Brighton team looking weaker and weaker with every transfer window.

There are other starting options like Faes, Bednarek etc. quite guaranteed to start at 4.0m.

Flip side could be 3.9 by then as Brighton pretty allergic to CS and if he doesn't manage attacking return or two before Estupian back, you're left with dead bench player and reduced value. I'll watch pre season and decide if worth the risk.

Also assist for Kulu, if I'm not mistaken. He's actually gotten a couple of goals and assists for Spurs during pre season. Have my eye on him, BJ in my team atm.

Might also go Son and Nkunku, have Palmer and BJ atm. If Palmer doesn't start.

    First attempt of the season.

    Sanchez
    Saliba Gvardiol Anderson
    Salah Nkunku Rashford Martinelli
    Isak Halland Muniz

    Ward, wink, Barco, Harwood

Saka, Foden, palmer, Watkins unlikely to start from the go, will think about them once they are eased in. Nkunku, Rashford and Martinelli is underpriced due to last season off form. This year they are having proper pre season and are injury free, hopefully they come good this year. Chelsea have very good fixtures after GW1, thus going with Sanchez. Saliba n Gvardiol safe template picks. Trying to get undervalued players having proper preseason in my gameweek one team. This is the Salah Halland team I am currently happy with.

    Please share your thoughts guys.

Will keep an eye on the Chelsea gk situation, Rashford if fit will play most of the minutes, we didn't buy any wingers this year. Martinelli will fight for the arsenal left flank and will play most of it IMO. A fit Nkunku is gonna be Chelsea talisman with palmer. Lets see how the preseason concludes.

Chelsea have signed Filip Jorgensen and just agreed a deal for Mike Penders (both GKs). I haven't a clue who'll start tbh

Chelsea have signed a new keeper and are in for another one apparently. They're all pants so could easily see them chopping and changing throughout the season.

We haven't bought any wingers, but we've got Zirkzee who will take his striker minutes, and Amad who is basically like a new signing this season. Him and Garnacho should be starting on merit, Rashford's been poor for a while.

Martinelli was outperformed massively by Trossard last season. Wouldn't surprise me if he was second choice again.

A "fit Nkunku" doesn't exist. Chelsea have about a million attackers now and no one other than Palmer is nailed. Rumours they're in for Osimhen too. He's the strongest one to start imo, hence why I said "maybe".

No problem. I don't think Saliba's worth the money with his opening fixtures, so would look to invest the extra 1.0-1.5m in midfield personally

Yed, the early fixtures are not that good for Arsenal. Might downgrade to a Newcastle, Fulham or United 4.5 defender.

I don't mind this team. I would reduce at least one of those midfield punts though. You're right that they could be good. But the chances of all 3 being insane value right out the gate is pretty low imo.

Howe could even go back to the Willock/Joelinton combination at LCM and LW that worked so well the season before last. Willock looked good today.

Barnes hasn't looked great in the two friendlies whether on LW or up front with Isak. Maybe a positive for Gordon that Howe has switched to a 4-4-2 at times in the friendlies.

That back line and keepers would give me serious cause for concern. Is Sanchez definitely preferred over Petrovic? Are Chelsea likely to bring in another keeper to further muddy the waters? Forest are looking like they'll have more keeper options than any other team. Pedro, Nkunku & Barco are all minutes risks, arguably along with Rogers imo. Sorry if that all sounds a bit negative, what do I know.

I would like to try to find the .5 needed to go Pickford ideally. Probably Saka or Son move to Foden, gives the extra money.

The main problem I foresee is that the temptation to rip the team up if & when Haaland goes nuts will be huge.

think you are crazy to go without either. In my opinion it's better to have both and then can go down if needed but can understand people going for only 1.

however, if you must go without either then this draft looks ok to good. Big midfield and the two priciest (popular) options up top.

Defence, i'm not convinced on Porro for the price and it's surprising your bench is bargain basement given missing H+S.

Overall, it's ok. Lacks the depth I would want for a non H+S team.

Having neither would terrify me. I don't necessarily agree, but many think that the England Euros players are a minutes risk in the 1st game and if they're right, you could be in trouble.

I don't think you really need to upgrade defence. You have a premium which gives you options, and i'm in on the Munoz wagon too so obviously I rate that pick. I'm ok with the 2 x 4.0 defenders, both should start and thats all you really need.

Not convinced on the Johnson pick but that's just personal preference. You could do CHO to rogers given I imagine he'll be benched most weeks but flip side is it currently gives you a nice first bench spot each week.

      Nice team!

Salah & Haaland doesn’t look too bad actually if you accept say Foden over Palmer:

    Flekken
    Gvardiol | Saliba | Mykolenko
    Salah | Foden | Gordon | MGW | Andreas
    Haaland | Muniz

No Isak though and double Fulham attack, which could be fruitful with their opening fixtures.

If this can scrape past GW1 with an acceptable score you’ll be laughing with Triple City going into GW2.

    Thoughts?

Probably be nice to have Son in GW1 but struggling to see where I could find 0.5 required to upgrade from Foden - possibly Rogers instead of Andreas or Joao Pedro instead of Muniz.

Well, Isak could get a hattie in GW1. Best striker in the league imo.

Who would be your top 6.5M mids?

I'm currently on Nkunku and Johnson.

Nkunku if fit. Kudus not talked about enough imo especially if WHU signs a new striker ..

As well as a fit Nkunku I like Rice & Rodri, so often overlooked & low ownership way into City & Arsenal midfield.

I like Rodri and I'd be inclined to start with him as the mids are where the transfers will likely be

Went deep into the Euros though

Yeah, my concern esp in light of Guardiola comments. Same for Rice but think he less of a worry. Agree, the 6.5 mids will be the battleground to start with.

Mitoma / Minteh — think the latter will slot straight in. Perfect in that team.

Going for a GW 1-6 squad and then wildcarding becomes more appealing with the late arrivals and Haaland fitness issues.. Hopefully save the transfers and gives me something like this:

    Flekken - Valdimarsson

    Burn/Livramento - Pau - Andersen - Barco - Harwood

    Salah - Palmer - Son - Odegaard - Bobb/Rogers

    Watkins - Isak - Wood

I’d stay away. Only White, Raya, and Saliba are safe but even then, I think more rotation for everyone to come this season.

When we played Bayern in the champions league, they allowed Gabriel to have the ball and shut off the right hand side. I think Calafiori provides the ball progression in these types of games that Gabriel can sometimes lack and that Mikel loves.

"Brentford's new striker Igor Thiago has been ruled out until late 2024 after undergoing knee surgery.

The Brazilian forward, who has been given the No 9 shirt, sustained the injury after scoring twice on his debut in a 5-2 pre-season win over AFC Wimbledon."

    Any good?

    Miguel
    Gvardiol, Mykolenko, Konsa
    Son, Saka, Bruno, CHO
    Haaland, Isak, Muniz

    Fabianski, Andersen, Faes, Winks

My biggest dilemma now is Gvardiol. I don't have him yet, but if he continues to play as a wingback he seems almost essential. Question is, will he?

I am thinking the same, but mainly due to rotation risk with Ake. I think I will stick with him but expect to be stung by pep roulette at times.

Not sure if I should upgrade my keeper to someone like Pope, currently on Miguel + 4M sub keeper.

Keep as is and spend the extra 0.5M 🙂

Thoughts on this Haaland + Salah? I think it is the most balanced draft I’ve seen:

    Miguel 4.0
    Gvardiol Myko Andersen Konsa Bellis
    Saka Gordon Eze CHO Andreas
    Haaland Watkins Isak

    Any defects?

I’ve built a pretty decent Haaland & Salah draft, you have to sacrifice either an Arsenal defender, 3rd premium mid or Isak I feel.

        Gone with the latter:

        Flekken
        Gvardiol | Mykolenko | Andersen
        Salah | Son | MGW | Andreas
Haaland | Isak | Joao Pedro

        Rogers & Fodder
