Last decision boils down to this

Drop 1 from below. The rest go into the team

    A) Gordon
    B) Eze
    C) Jota
    D) Solanke

Jota is the least nailed (yet most explosive) here, imo

Howe refused to drop Gordon even when flagged (not like we trust Howe's flags) last season, iirc

        He's nailed

Not ruled out he's just not worth bringing in immediately with the City fixture and lack of pre-season.

All these. Plus a big price hike, and it's not clear which position he will play with Nkunku available. If he plays out wide instead of #10 he may be less prolific.

Nope, but Chelsea don't look cohesive yet. For that price, some positive signs are needed

Chelsea weren't cohesive when he exploded last season either, to be fair

Who's a better £5.5m (or less) option than Kamada if you already have ESR and Rogers?

    1. The Snowman
      • 14 Years
      4 months, 15 days ago

      Minteh is perhaps the one.

I am doubling ESR and Pereira for Lei and Ips fixtures then reassess.

      1. Ze_Austin

Pereira seems to have been pushed into a more withdrawn role since ESR's arrival, so I wouldn't judge his potential on previous seasons

        1. twoplustwo
          • 10 Years
          4 months, 15 days ago

Yep sure. I'd still fancy him to score more than the other 5.5s over those first 3 weeks. I don't think Bobb is a bad shout but I can't be dealing with the minutes risk.

          1. Ze_Austin
            • 6 Years
            4 months, 15 days ago

I'll take Kamada over Pereira though, with Minteh on hand if I want to drop Kamada or ESR

Wouldn't go so cheap on my midfield either way, as I feel that's where most FPL points have been coming from in recent seasons

Sort last season's players by points per match, and midfield screams "Invest!" to me... Then get that cheap guy only if he emerges like Palmer did (people have forgotten the many cheap mids who *didn't* explode last season)

              This.
12 Midfielders scored more than 150 points last season.
              Five got 200+

Only five forwards scored more than 150.

Don't disagree on midfield and it's where I'll eventually spend most of my cash, but I've decided to wait on Saka/Palmer/Foden initially.

Love the pricing. It's more based on potential than popularity (Man U players) and last season's point totals (Trent, Haaland)

Anyone know how price rises work?

For instance, does the initial Teams Selected By affect it,
or does the price rise depend on the number of transfers
in AFTER the first games are played?

    Ty in advance for replies.

    1. The Snowman
      • 14 Years

there won't be any price rises on fri or saturday night, don't knee jerk until Sunday morning (early Monday) when the price changes begin.

Bandwagons will start rolling after Sunday's games.

Although after a Solanke hattie (two penalties) on Monday will get knee jerking into top gear Monday night.

    Team almost set:

    A) nkunku, 6.5 mid and 4.5 attacker
    B) 4.5 mid, solanke and 5,5 mid

    Ta!

  14. FPL_trail_runner

If as people have said who watch the teams are correct and :

    - Ipswich play open and will score alot but also allow a lots of chances when at Home , similar to Leeds under Bielsa
-Leicester are a mess and will pumped many times
    - Soton play open expansive and can get hit on the break.

Then rolling the dice on this could be the play week 1 to target those 3 teams effectively:

    Henderson
    Zinchenko Porro Hall
    Gordon Saka Jota Salah Son
    Isak Solanke
    4mil Robinson Johnson Winks

Week 2: Haaland (C) and ESR in for Salah + Isak to target again Ipswich and Leicester defence.

    1. Ze_Austin
      • 6 Years
      4 months, 15 days ago

Wouldn't sell Isak or Salah in the first 5 GWs

Season-long game, and we can roll up to 5 FTs

FTs are too precious for precision-GW hit-hunting, imo

My alternative to this plan is a simple Jota to (C)Foden in GW2, but that means I've got Havert and Eze for your Son and Saka. Not sure how you managed 5 mids though

      1. Ze_Austin
        • 6 Years

      2. FPL_trail_runner
        • 4 Years
        4 months, 15 days ago

Yes its another alternative, i could do Son to Foden week 2

From what ive read its more likley Ipswich will play more open at home. So maybe more difficult for City than Pool in week 1 attacking wise

Id back them to score in week 1 though

        Ipswich 1- Liverpool 3
City 2 - Ipswich 0 would be the guess.

That "more open at home" vs away data is based on the Championship

Doesn't matter as much when City and Liverpool's overwhelming attacks come running at them. I think it only really affects the bigger club's CS potential, as it could be the difference between 3-0 and 5-2 scorelines

    Alexander-Arnold | Gabriel | Pedro Porro | Robinson | Barco

I have ESR but I may need to replace Elanga
Who would you suggest at £5.5 or below in midfield
Can only think of risky Bobb

I had CHO but then changed to Elanga....

I have Pedro, so not keen on double Brighton (As there is no one at Pedro's price to replace him or I would have went Minty)
Again, with Isaak, I don't really want a Newcastle double up. And Murphy has never been great... decent yes, but not great. Can't see that changing this year.
            Just my thoughts....

              Fair points.
But 'great' doesn't get priced at 5.5m

I know cover ain’t a thing but Palmers ownership is making me want Nkunku over MGW?

    Raya
    Gvardiol Quansah Anderson
    Salah Eze ???? ESR
    Haaland Isak Solanke

Chelsea are the last team I'd want to "cover". Palmer's appeal is individual not team-based

I mean, its the same with him for me. The appeal is his individual quality as seen in UCL football etc; the drawback is Chelsea & Maresca not knowing his lineup or where he'll play him

I had Nkunku from first draft - until yesterday.
          Swapped him out for Rice.

I know. But on points per £m, Rice is probably only behind Ben White at Arsenal.

    Two Questions Squires ......

    Would you
    Swap
Pickford and Saliba OUT for Raya and Myolenko IN
To enable an upgrade of HarwoodBellis to become MUNOZ?
(I also have Barco and Quansah so would likely give me more security for 3 or 4 starters..)

    YES / NO please?

And who would you go for....
    A) Nkunku,
    B) Johnson,
    C) Gibbs White
(If MGW then Elanga would need replaced at his price point......suggestions for that if choosing MGW - I have ESR already.)

    A or B or C please?

    e.g. YES - B

    Cheers Squires

      Q1 - NO.
I had Munoz from first draft, but better options at 4.5.

      Q2. - C
But am not crazy about any of these.
      Prefer Hudson-Odoi from Forest.
Other good 5.5s are Murphy (under radar), Minteh and Semenyo.

Assuming Guehi signs for Newcastle and starts, does his weakness in aerial battles result in Burn playing LB?

Tough one - cheap nailed option into Newcastle defence. Good long term pick.

I'm looking at rotating 2*4.5m and Robinson would be the first pick. I do like Quansah but he may not be a long term pick. Mykolenko as well is under consideration.

Yeah, I'm thinking along similar lines.

Currently have Hall, Quansah and Barco in my draft but it just feels a bit risky. Guehi would be the ideal solution for me.

I don't use tools some unknown has knocked up purely to make money, but if you want to hold onto your WC as long as possible I would be looking at 5 GWs minimum.

Yeah he adds competition at RB and can play LB too, also mentioned that he played well with Antony at Ajax so maybe more of an attempt to fix Antony and salvage something instead of replacing Dalot.

Mazraoui was signed for cheap depth to cover both sides. Shaw and Dalot are the starters when fit.
