Fantasy EFL: Our experts rate your Double Gameweek 11 teams

STARTING SEVEN

GOALKEEPER

In between the sticks, I am opting for the Clarets number one, James Trafford (G). Burnley have two consecutive home ties at Turf Moor, with Middlesbrough the first to make the trip, followed by Derby County. It would be a huge surprise to see the Englishmen fail to keep at least one clean sheet (+5) across the two matches given their defensive record this season. Trafford has managed 11 clean sheets (+55) from the 17 appearances he has made this season and during this time, has only conceded six goals. I have full faith in the number one for top returns.

DEFENDERS

Maxime Estève (D) completes my Burnley defensive double. The Clarets defender has been in excellent form this season, providing some huge defensive displays, which have led to significant progress for his backers in Fantasy EFL. After 18 appearances, the Frenchman has managed 12 clean sheets (+60), alongside an abundance of defensive contributions. With Middlesbrough and Derby County up next, the Rams match seems near-nailed that Scott Parker’s side nail their 13th clean sheet.

Watford’s Mattie Pollock (D) is a low-ownership, high-reward differential pick. His impressive displays, recognized by being captained by Tom Cleverley, make him a standout defender. With two favourable away fixtures against Cardiff City and Hull City, Pollock is primed for clean sheets and defensive returns. Watford’s recent defensive solidity, highlighted by three clean sheets in their last four matches, further enhances his appeal. At a mere 0.5% ownership and his attacking potential, Pollock is a risky yet rewarding pick.

MIDFIELDERS

Norwich City’s Emiliano Marcondes (M) secures a spot in my side after his upturn in form. The midfielder has burst onto the Fantasy EFL scenes in recent weeks, providing some outstanding displays. A 24-point haul in Gameweek 16 was incredible, and this was followed by another nine-point return when the Canaries hit four past Luton Town at Carrow Road. Norwich have scored ten goals in their last two fixtures, and lead the division with 35 goals scored this season. As it stands, Marcondes has ownership of just 0.4%, so is another excellent differential pick if he can continue in prolific form from midfield.

Moreover, looking for contribution magnets, Millwall’s Casper De Norre (M) is a standout. The Lions middle man has proven to be an interception hero in Fantasy EFL, with a staggering 34 (+68) secured to his name this season. His consistent performances, averaging 6.4 points per game, is supported by strong underlying statistics. With 108 points overall and a low ownership of 1.8%, he offers significant differential potential. His matchups against Coventry City and Sheffield United at The Den, both teams likely to dominate possession, could lead to increased interception opportunities, further boosting his appeal.

FORWARDS

Leading the line is the strike duo of Norwich City’s Borja Sainz (F) and Watford’s Vakoun Bayo (F)

Norwich City take on QPR and Portsmouth away from home in Double Gameweek 18, and this provides the perfect platform for the Spaniard to showcase his talent and extend his goal tally of 15 (+75)! Due to his impact this season, his ownership has sky-rocketed week after week, and now stands at 19%. To not select him could be costly; the number seven could easily bag 20+ points here.

To optimise my team, I’ve combined popular picks with differential selections. Watford’s Ivory Coast international, with a low ownership of 0.9%, fits the bill perfectly. His upcoming fixtures against Cardiff and Hull City present excellent opportunities for points. His previous performances, including a stunning 29-point haul away at Wednesday, underscore his potential to significantly impact my team’s overall score.

CLUB PICKS

Matching my player selections, Burnley and Norwich City are the obvious picks this Gameweek.

Burnley’s home form, alongside their defensive record, makes them the perfect club pick. The Clarets host Middlesbrough and Derby County, which should enable them to provide the maximum 18 points. To do this, they would need to score 2+ goals, keep a clean sheet and win both of the ties.

On the other hand, Norwich City have two away ties. Therefore, a maximum of 22 points are up for grabs if they can win both, as well as score 2+ goals and keep a clean sheet. The Canaries are certainly capable of two or more goals, after scoring ten across their last two fixtures! Consecutive away clean sheets may be harder to achieve, but they should certainly be able to bag at least one against struggling opposition.

A maximum of 40 points are up for grabs if all things go my way!
