For those 1,5 people who still have Evanilson including me:
    https://www.afcb.co.uk/news/2025/january/07/injury-news--evanilson/
"We can confirm Evanilson has undergone a successful procedure to repair a fractured metatarsal sustained during Saturday's 1-0 win over Everton."
Rehabilitation term isn't noted yet tho.

Unal 5,4m with bad fixtures. Worth keeping an eye on Semenyo, he played 73 games as CF according to transfermarkt.

Foot fractures are notoriously difficult to rehab due to the issues with blood supply.

Based on rugby league injury reports, 2-3 months is typical. Up to 5 months if there are rehab complications

Had an unreal run pre and post Xmas. Seven green's in eight weeks. Moved from the depths of 3.6m to 1.4m. Still have all chips and 5 FT's. All coincided with calling time on Haaland and getting Salah back!

    Sels
    TAA, Timber, Robinson
    Salah, Palmer, Diaz, Gordon
    Isak, Wood, Cunha

    (Fabianski, Enzo, Colwill, HB)
    1FT + 2 itb

Best route to bring in Mbeumo?
    A) Diaz > Mbeumo
    B) Cunha + Enzo > Mbeumo + Raul (-4)
    C) Wait 1 week and then do B

Is it best to try and muddle through BGW29 with 8-9 players and then use FH to attack a DGW with a differential captain like Haaland or someone similar with a plum fixture?

You say that but transfers are precious with the asst manager chip becoming active soon. When that chip is active more transfers will be made (players and manager). I'm going to roll as much as possible (unless injuries/suspension) after GW22.

General idea is blanks from GW29 due EFL cup final will go into 33. Blanks from 34 due to FAC SF will go into 36

It would be avl (A) in BGW29 that would need to be rescheduled if Liverpool make the EFL final

Could be the best way, no doubt.

But I guess you won't have the fourth fixture on the Assistant Manager chip in 30-32?

For me I think using the chip in 24-26 or 25-27 makes it easier to adapt and attack BGW29->GW38 with FH, WC and TC. We don't know the blanks for sure, but if we assume Arsenal and Liverpool moves into the final it will be tough for many to avoid using the FH in GW29 (Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Villa blanking).

I don't know. It might not.

But it locks you when used. You can't use any other chips in those GWs, and you have to find the spare cash to select manager(s) in those GWs.

Just think it would be difficult to actually make it all work as intended if you plan to lock yourself with chips in 6/7 GWs in a row.

Let's talk TonyAwesome69 as an example.
If you plan to WC30 after the BGW29 you probably have no FTs left because you aimed to deadend your team in BGW29.
Then you WC, and when you use the AM chip in 31-33 you spend your FTs on managers. Then you FH in 34 and plan to BB in 36.

This is perfect on paper, but it could end in mucho amount of hits with suspension/injuries and simply underperforming players and shift in form for teams within that 7 GW period.

You would have to pick the perfect WC in GW30 to be able to have a great BB in 36. You don't really have the luxury of transfers to make the BB better since you would use them on managers and so on. You would also spread the cash on 15 players in GW30 -> end of season where a guy like me would have a strong XI. Both could work, but Id rather have Halland in 8 GWs in a row than Jackson + a super strong bench for BB in a single out of an eight GW period.

We will just have to wait and see I guess.

          1. WVA
            • 9 Years
            11 months, 9 days ago

Planning BB and spreading funds for it is always a bad idea and like you say weakens your team over a longer period, I’ll probably get BB and Assman out the way ASAP.

I know it's unlikely but if the four clubs blanking in GW29 are knocked out of the FA Cup early, any chance we'll only end up with 1 Double Week (excluding Everton v Liverpool)?

    1. Tonyawesome69

FAC SF is on the same weekend as GW34 so fixtures will need to rescheduled and lead to another DGW

Sorry, i was a bit unclear and as I said unlikely, but I meant the rearranged Double 33 games being played in Double 36 instead if all four teams were out of the FA Cup. It would also need none of those 4 clubs to be playing any teams still involved in the FA Cup in blank week 33 so probably impossible.

You mean if for example Arsenal, Chelsea, Pool and Villa are out of the FA Cup, could their GW29 blanks be rescheduled for when the FA Cup QFs take place and still be part of GW29?
      GW29 - 15 March
      IB - 17-25 March

I feel like this season has been really tough. I've had to claw and fight every week. And I don't even think I'm doing badly. I'm in the top 5 in most of my competitive mini leagues with an OR of 184K. In past seasons, a rank like that would have me be in 20th place or thereabouts at this stage.

Last year I was in the top 100K since GW4 or smth so it's quite different to feel like I have to fight back from such a deficit.

Top 10K feels really hard to achieve and I'm looking at other content creators languishing in the millions still halfway through the season. I'm not even sure what's considered a decent rank atm. Is it top 500K? Is it top 100K? Anything below 50K feels exceptional. That's quite different compared to last season.

      • 9 Years

Don’t think it’s any harder/different than last season. I always aim for top 50k but anything inside 100k at end of season is good.

Crazy season bit like the middle of the premier league I think the top/ middle ground is very bunched and odd results can send you green or red very quickly. New changes in FPLcould make the end even crazier!

This is true, I tend to target sub 100k as a rank that tends to win, or at least compete for winnings, in most mini leagues.

Used to be the same for 10k about 10 years ago.

    4. dshv

For the past two seasons, I'm actually involved in something different from 1+ million. Last seasons - 140k, before that - 4k
Currently, I'm in 50k but fighting about that started gw1 in 8k then million and leading all my mini-leagues except 2 of them where I'm on second place with 20 points difference and 7 in another one.

What I can say and I hopefully will try to do till the end is not to rotate my team every single week, I had hit a lot of bad transfers, brought people for example like bruno which gave me -2 points, then removed him and etc.
If nobody of my team faces injuries and rotation starts probably I will be in the top 10k for the past 15 weeks. Now I have to believe in my team.

Every season is different I think, if you're engaged. I'm super casual. Had 4 top 100k finishes, but also 4 half a million ones. This season is great because there's so much variation

Ouch, Evanilson injury wasn't needed! Mateta seems like the obvious answer to me (benching Wood)... thoughts?

Too stubborn to be drawn back in to Joao Pedro two GWs after selling... so, other option is rolling the 1FT, £4.0m ITB - a Forest defender needs to come in, but not this week.

    Gabriel Robinson Hall (Huijsen Faes)

Something about Jesus - maybe the long, long barren run before this wee spurt of form, as well as not exactly being nailed long-term - doesn't inspire much confidence for me, as much as I'd like to back him. Maybe stubbornness of a different ilk to the Pedro situation but I also don't much fancy Wissa - have somehow never owned him - double up with Mbeumo, would rather just have one for now. That and fixtures is largely what has led me to Mateta, given Haaland is out of reach, Watkins v Duran minutes risks, Jackson misfiring.

Main alternatives for me being Gakpo (tempting, but may want a Liv defender) or even Raul, who I'm also relucant to buy back having just sold...

Cunha back in could well be on the cards, too, but as you say, happy to give that a few weeks as those upcoming fixtures are awful!

Gakpo looks good, I'm 0.1 short for him though.

          Team is

          Sels/Hendon

          TAA/Gab/Robinson/Hall/Milenkovic

          Salah/Palmer/Gordon/Mbeumo/Rogers

          Isaak/Wood/Jesus.

          0.4 itb 1ft.

TAA going after DBW, so I can get anyone for 3rd striker except Haaland

I did ask same yesterday, answer was Mbuemo, I have Gordon already, Odegaard should start scoring, I will wait until next week. I may do Bruno for Southampton & Brighton home games than swap it for Mbuemo after.

Don’t trust Bruno and Saints seem to get battered at home rather than away

They've only had one away game under the new manager and a toothless Palace side still had 19 shots (9 on target)

Salah - best player, tough fixture

Palmer/Isak - good players, better fixtures

    Captaincy is tough this week

            Yeah against possession based teams

That allows them to play on the counter

            Nottingham aren’t that
