We fell short once again last week, which now swings the profit pot back in Paddy’s favour after the likes of Jermain Defoe, Grant Holt and Luis Suarez all failed to notch in their corresponding matches. We’ve got ground to make up and pennies to claw back, then, so this time we threw our bookmaker buddy some less familiar names…
We’ve had our eye on Glen Johnson in recent weeks, not least because he’s shown an attacking intent that’s seen him emerge as a real goal threat from the Liverpool right. Last weekend, only Steven Gerrard’s glancing header prevented Johnson’s goal-bound effort registering for the full-back and, having notched at West Ham in Gameweek 16, we think there’s another goal just around the corner. Paddy are offering 14/1 on a Johnson goal with a Liverpool clean sheet against Fulham and, with Martin Jol’s side stuttering and struggling to find goals, we’ll gladly take this one up for £2 of our stake money.
Jason Puncheon is another name we’ve latched onto as a player who is offering exceptional value from midfield in a Southampton side that attacks with some verve. Puncheon has been the Saints’ major goal threat in recent weeks and, with Adam Lallana missing this weekend and possibly over Christmas, the former Blackpool winger may have to step up his game to help maintain the Saints’ recent run of results. Paddy have slapped 11/1 on a Puncheon goal with a Southampton clean sheet against Sunderland at St Mary’s and we like that enough to toss £3 of our money in its direction.
David Silva is the headline act amongst this week’s Flutter selection; the subject of our recent Monitor article for members, the little Spaniard will surely be key to picking apart the Reading defence and many will fancy Silva for a decent haul. He has just a single goal to his name so far this season but this encounter looks to be a decent platform for him to add to his tally. Paddy certainly fancy his chances and have 7/2 on a Silva goal with Man City clean sheet against the Royals. We’ll take that for £3 more our stake funds.
Finally, we have £2 remaining for our weekly treble. While this normally features a United striker, this time around we thought we’d throw this week’s Scout Pick and differential punt, Edin Dzeko into the mix. We fancy the Bosnian to play some part, if not start, against Reading and that could well bring Dzeko the opportunity to boost this season’s goal count. Paddy are dangling odds of 11/1 on a Dzeko goal, a Santi Cazorla assist against Wigan and a clean sheet for Spurs at home to Stoke.
