Yaya to eriksen, Ramsey or mata this week? Planning to have all three for run in. Rest of midfield currently nasri, mutch, lallana and johnson
Open ControlsSo reading that article on Sturridge makes me think he's a big doubt. Giving him every chance to be fit makes it seem much more likely he won't make it than he will. Hopefully Rogers gives us more info, but I doubt he will
Open Controlswow, such a cool finish by puncheon
Open ControlsIndeed. All hail Punch
Open Controls
I see Aguero only played 56 mins, is he injured?
Open Controlsdon't think so, went straight to stands to watch rest of the game without any ice packs or words with the physio
Open Controlsgreat thanks, yaya is falling and eriksen i rising so might pull the trigger now, didn't want to get stung by a flag applied later to Aguero
Open Controls
60 min limit pregame
Open Controls
Silva flag? Any news?
Did kun come off on 57min for a reason?
What's the best site (with FPL slant) to read review of games so I don't annoy you lot with crappy questions?Open ControlsMannone
Zaba Coleman Azpili
Yaya* Silva Mutch Eriksen
Suarez Lukaku Sturridge*
Pickford Dann Chester Noone
A) Yaya>Mata
B) Yaya>Mata & Sturridge/Lukaku>Aguero (-4).Open ControlsHave my Final year exams need week so really cant be wasting a load of time fretting over this week transfers.
yaya ---> Mata sound good? for a team of:
Boruc
COleman, Azpi, Cahill
Mata, Silva, Snodgrass, Eriksen
Lukaku, Suarez, AgueroOpen ControlsIf Gerrard is/was a box to box player who, in the premiere league, was better than or as good as him at that job ???
Open ControlsAs a box to box midfielder I would say many have played who were great, but few who had it all, literally, pace, power, skill, passing ability, tackling ability, a great engine and a great tactical knowledge of the game. Gerrard had it all, and that's why, I would say, is and was the best box to box midfielder the Premier League has ever seen.
Open ControlsAlso the shooting ability, that's mainly what sets him apart.
Open Controlsapart from tackling ability scholes matches him. reading of the game/tactics he edges gerrard on. scholes is generally considered the greatest midfielder of his generation
Open Controlsscholes is generally considered the greatest midfielder of his generation, by utd fans
Open Controlshttp://therepublikofmancunia.com/quotes-about-paul-scholes/
by everyone. davids, zidane, iniesta, xavi, viera fabregas, henry, guardiola etcOpen ControlsHe was great, really great, but I think in the context Gerrard made those marauding runs forward were he was the focal point and played an active part up front, rather than just orchestrate things or make a late run into the box (he can do that too). As a midfielder alone it's debatable, but as a box to box mid I'd say Gerrard all day long.
Open Controls- Open Controls
Hmm.... according to pro-United commentators maybe!
Open Controls- Open Controls
Fellow professionals indulge in a bit of flattery, big deal. You could find similar things written about Nick Butt.
Open Controlsgo on then, show me.
Open ControlsWhy waste my time searching for meaningless platitudes on the internet? It doesn't prove anything, which is my point.
Open Controlsyour original point was only pro united commentators rate him. that has been obliterated. now you are saying commentators praise doesn't prove anything. lol
Open ControlsIf you want to point to a few meaningless platitudes to somehow validate that Scholes is the best of his generation, that's up to you. I take comments like that with a pinch of salt. I distinctly remember Pele calling Butt the best midfielder in the world during the World Cup. Does it mean anything? No. It's just flattering, probably in response to a leading question.
Open Controls
Alan Hanson: “He is one of the top three to five players to have ever played in the Premier League. His passing, movement and technique set examples to everyone, not just younger players.”
Open Controls
i have heard some amazing players say Scholes is the greatest mid or even player they played with/against.....Gerrard has more haters than Scholes
Open Controls
Well put licky
Open Controls
Viera maybe, Keane defensively great but not so much attacking wise
Open ControlsTrue. Gerrard edges Viera and Scholes as a complete player for me
Open Controls
Him Keane and Viera are the best imo
Open Controlsscholes
Open Controlshe couldn't tackle
Open Controls
Vieira Robson Keane Toure
Open Controlsi like Lampard, but he don't seem to get much love
Open Controls
He'd be my pick also.
Open Controls
modric is incredible currently. i miss him
Open Controlshim and bale
Open Controls
🙂
Torres + Oscar 16.7 m / 3439 mins / 12 goals
Naismith + Mutch 9.7m / 2963mins / 12 goalsOpen ControlsThat's some of the most bizarre cherry picking I've seen 🙂
Open Controlsif you tell us this at the start, and not the end, of a season- that would be great.....
Open Controls
First I was set on Gerrard. Then Eriksen. Then Gerrard. Then Eriksen again. Can't make up my mind
Open ControlsI love Stevie G more than I should love any man but Eriksen makes more sense mate
Open Controls😀 Are you sure pal? Jonty had a fair point in The scoutcast. Looking at Pools fixtures.. Looks great to me. Pool - Chelsea could easily be a 3-4 goals game, and Stevie will be there.

post-match aguero quotes here http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2014/April/City-v-Sunderland-Manuel-Pellegrini-post-match-reaction

Baines Coleman Azpi | Ward Chester
Toure Silva Nasri Lallana | Ward-Prowse
Sturridge Lukaku Suarez
1FT and 1.8M ITB.
Should I do Toure>Mata tonight and possibly Sturridge>Aguero before the weekend?Open ControlsYes on the first one, wait to hear from Rodgers on Sturridge before getting rid, if he's fit get rid of Lukaku(imo).
Open Controls
Adrián;
Baines, Azpilicueta, Shaw;
Yaya Touré(!), Eriksen, Puncheon, A.Johnson;
Suárez, Agüero, Lukaku.
Mannone; Noone(!), Chester, Olsson.
1FT; £6.3m ITB.
Thinking Yaya Touré & Lukaku ➡ Mata & Bony for -4.
Thoughts folks?Open ControlsKeep Lukaku. He's not worth getting rid of for a hit.
Open ControlsProbably better off with Lukaku than Bony this week. Bony not so good away. Just the first one mate
Open Controlsnoticed you haven't replied to the plethora of gushing quotes about scholes being the best midfielder people like davids, zidane, xavi etc. have ever played against?
Open Controlsmere lip service SG was better
Open Controlspraise from your contemporaries is the highest form of praise. guardiola knows his midfieders, when he says scholes was the best he wasn't saying it for fun.
Open Controlsproblem here is gerrard dominates scholes in player voted gongs.
look at these too, way more gerrards than scholes http://www.fourfourtwo.com/perfect-xi
(i have no opinion either way, just posting this)Open ControlsIt may just be personal preference as there's really little between them but I would go with Gerrard.
Open Controls
lol I just saw it. I'm sure many greats say the same thing about Gerrard, Viera etc. I never said he wasn't a great player.
Open Controls
Silva & Sturridge any news about them , should they ready for next GW ?
Open ControlsWho to replace YYT with - Eriksen, Mata or Nasri? The latter both have DGWs on the horizon, of course.
Open ControlsI have Silva already btw.
Open Controls
Puncheon owners 23*
Open Controls
dunno
Open Controls
Barkley owner here - happily surprised that he appears to be keeping that assist......
Open ControlsAnyone else have a disastrous GW?
55 points from a 18 players? WTF??Open ControlsYep - 9 players plus a capt yielded me 24 points tonight..........miserable
Open ControlsI had 90 but just looked again and azpil came on for hazard so 96. Wow. I got lucky.
Open ControlsGreat score mate
Open Controls
Yep, 2 of my mini league rivals. Game on!
Open Controls
Front eight of
Mata, Nasri, Mutch, Snodgrass
Aguero, Suarez, Lukaku
Yaya to?
A Gerrard?
B Eriksen
C Save him and do Lukaku to Ade??Open ControlsI'd take Bony over Ade.
Gerrard and Eriksen are pretty close, but I'd go Eriksen. I know cover isn't exactly cool anymore, but if Spurs happen to expload you know Eriksen will be in the points, and if Pool do then you'll have a great share through Suarez.Open Controls
Off topic, but the missus and kids are at the in-laws this weekend and I'm having a lads weekend :D. I live down in Reading now while a few of my best mates are Bristol-way, so we make sure we meet up a couple of times a year. Format of the weekend is always:
Friday. Lads arrive, unload, beer, fantasy football banter, ps3 (FIFA, CoD), KFC, babestation.
Sat. Full English, Soccer AM, watch the early kick off, football down the park, pizzas, choons while getting ready to go out. Then taxi, bars, club, sugar lounge, narrowly avoid a fight, kebab, taxi, and make sure mates aren't calling and inviting over anyone they shouldn't be at 4am 😉
Sun. Full English, recall what went down last night, watch back to back PL matches and more FPL banter. Lads leave, I defumigate the house before the missus returns. Then 3 days to sober up and feel normal again...
Anyway, long story long... Thinking of getting a PS4 and FIFA 14 + CoD as a but of a surprise, but heard you can't link them up (only online), and there doesn't seem to be many local multi-player games. I will also need PSPlus membership to play multiplayer online.. is that right?!!
I'm not expecting graphics to be hugely better (say how it was going from PS2 to PS3), but split screen games should benefit, right? What games do you recommend (they like sports and FPS)?Open ControlsThat sounds like a perfect weekend!
I have no ideaOpen ControlsThanks for the input, nonetheless 🙂
Open Controls
Lol, it's not like we all sit w@nking off to it! But it works like an oil painting would adding a certain nice distraction to the room 🙂
Open Controls
Who makes the full English.........
Open ControlsNot sure about linking, ps4 is fine for me. Ghosts is epic on ps4
Open ControlsNice one, cheers. I'm sheeite at CoD but it's a staple part of the weekend.
Open Controls
Yeah you need PS+ to play online for the PS4. I've not played CoD, but pretty much everyone is going for Battlefield 4 over CoD: Ghosts.. Probably one to do your research on if you're going to pick between them. I went for Killzone as an FPS game, and got Assassin's Creed black Flag, and Tomb Raider. All are good.
Open ControlsYeah, looks awesome but I read somewhere that Battlefield 4 doesn't have local multi-player?! That's why I turned to CoD where I think we can hook up two to my router then play split screen on both meaning 4 of us can play at a time.
Open Controls- Open Controls
Very much so! Excellent, mate, nice one.
Open Controls
Surely this post deserves a hulk ...
Open ControlsBottom of the page and everything!
Open Controls
Yaya -> Gerrard. Lallana -> Eriksen (-4) as well - stupid? Wait One week?
Open ControlsAs good a move as any if you fancy the hit. I actually think -4's do quite well as if one transfer doesn't pay off, the other might and cover the cost it.
Open ControlsTrue. But Lallana could do massive against Villa
Open ControlsSox, only looked at the players being brought in. Yeah, I'd definitely keep Lallana for another week. Asking for trouble that transfer.
Open ControlsThanks! But Not so sure! Eriksen could easily outscore Lallana by 4. And the other way
Open Controls
im holdin lala for one last hurah
Open ControlsThat was my plan as well Colonel.. But, but..
Open Controls
😛
Open Controls
any nhl fans here?
Open ControlsCut the gap between me and my ML leader by 72 points to 27 since GW32. Go me 😆
Open ControlsGood work!
Open Controls
Should I do yaya > eriksen and sturridge > aguero now?
Open Controlsi am thinking to do that but with Lukaku out
Open Controls
10 years, 5 months ago
any reason not to pull the trigger on
yaya > mata and sturridge > aguero for a -4?
