Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Gameweek 6 – Monday

Gameweek 6 concludes this evening with a Monday night battle at The Britannia. Mark Hughes’ side have yet to either score or pick up a point at home this season after losing both their opening fixtures in front of the Potters supporters – form in stark contrast to last season’s, where they lost at home on just three occasions.

Hughes’ troops will be buoyed by their visitors’ league displays. Newcastle have drawn blanks in both their road trips, though a midweek cup win at Hull, where new boy Emmanuel Riviere notched twice, will boost their confidence.

Mark Hughes makes just a single alteration from the side that drew against QPR last weekend, bringing in Mark Muniesa for Erik Pieters at left-back after the former notched twice in a cup win at Sunderland. Further up the field, Victor Moses, Charlie Adam and Mame Biram Diouf line up behind lone striker Peter Crouch.

For the Magpies, Tim Krul, Yoan Gouffran and Papiss Cisse recover from illness, though the latter continues on the bench as he’s eased back into action following a long-term knee injury. Daryl Janmaat and Cheick Tiote also retain their starting berths after overcoming knocks sustained in last week’s home draw with Hull.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

For Rooney and Ramsey for a hit:

    A) Aguero and a mid up to 9.5
    B) Pelle and any mid in the game

P.s, please no CS's in this match

    B) Ivanovic, Silva and Pelle

This is so hard to pick a Rooney replacement -

    Welbeck
    Lukaku(got Naismith)
    Ulloa
    Sturridge(got Sterling)
    Aguero(will cost -4)
    Pelle(got Tadic)

    What to do?

      • 10 Years
      10 years, 1 day ago

Welbz, Aguero and Pelle are the options. The others aren't. If you have Tadic, I'd go Aguero or Welbz... whichever you feel happier owning. Aguero high risk high reward. Welbz steady and safe.

Don't worry about having more than one attacking player from same team. Just pick player you think will score most.

I guess I was "lucky" in the sense that I had Rooney and Ramsey so pretty much had to take the -4 any way so thought Kun was the obvious choice since I had to take the hit anyway.

Since I didn't have any city players before this week with their incoming fixtures I think it was a good move.

In your position though I'd probably go Pelle, and regret not taking the hit later :p
