As always, our Sunday members’ regular delves into the data of the matches played out so far. This time around, Arsenal’s attack, Swansea’s in-form frontman, the Hammers’ raiding left-back and Southampton’s new wide man are amongst our evening assessment.
+ 1
Pick one for the next 3 game weeks (after that will be rotated).
A. Downing
B. Moses
Quick Question: Has downing had a dip in form or has he been unlucky in the past 2, plus will that continue because of sakho's injury?
Cheers!Downing then, better long term pick.
how has he looked in last 2 weeks
Dangerous, had a couple of efforts vs City, and West Ham are scoring goals.
even without sakho now?
Yeah why not - they have still got Valencia who has looked decent.
Either way, West Ham look to have more goals in them than Stoke, plus Downing's fixtures beyond the next 3 weeks are better than those of Moses.
Downing is a good pick. Hit the post last week and on set pieces.
I'm aware of the "Baines Law", but that's two weeks on the trot now that I should've captained him!
I did! Non aguero owner though
Thankfully I went Siggy, so at least got something.
Yeah, few predictable big hauls this week
I'll give you one tip. Don't captain him next week!
Don't worry, I'm a law abiding citizen.
Baines law is also the butterfly effect of captaining him will reduce his returns.
Whilst no doubt increasing those of the player you would otherwise have captained in the meantime.
This is a good thought starter... Any other 'laws'? Costa's law is maybe the 'too many eggs in one basket' law
Anyone got players in todays game?
I got Guzan and Hutton, need cleansheet now more than everMaybe Green....
similar here, Guzan and Vlaar
Got Hutton. I have McCarthy too if he even starts.
is it madness for me to want to captain aguero next week even though i have sanchez hazard welbeck and costa?
not .
i capt aguero toonope
Yes, totally mad
Aguero is the obvious choice
FF is madness. Even the best players can flop in the easiest fixtures. Follow your gut instinct.
any QPR fans in the house?
will mccarthy play instead of green tonight?
tactical or coz green is flagged injured/?Green was ill last week but it would be nice to see McCarthy keep his place.
McCarthy is by far the better keeper. But this is 'Arty so will probbably go with Green.
*Arry
Green is better keeper, End of
In preparation for those Jan WCs.... 😉
United States captain Clint Dempsey, 31, is ready to make a Premier League loan return from MLS outfit Seattle Sounders in January, with Aston Villa, QPR and Stoke all interested in the forward. (Daily Mirror)We need midfielders not another forward
He's always classed as a midfielder
*opens ticker and looks at fixtures....
Why is there so much juvenile gloating over Sakho's injury? Is it envy over missing his haul?Sometimes I can't understand people around here.
Just sometimes
* most times
now it’s actually decent around here
Its because there's far too many Juveniles around here basically.
"We're all individual (I'm not!)"
Brian? 😀
Yes! Thanks for not leaving me hanging
Most people here are under 21.
Indeed 🙂
I'm annoyed, was looking forward to bringing him in.
Im annoyed as Ive got him!
We had it with Costa all last week, even though the outcome was undetermined.
I think that one will drag on into this week as well.....
It's fine asking questions and debating, but at times it resembled a pack of hungry dogs hunting down the Costa sellers.
Lets turn our wrath on Mourinho and Costa instead of each other.
With Costa you can understand the point in trolling because many will react. Sakho is a differential pick but who has been immensely productive. So to me it is less professional trolling and more unadulterated envy.
According to The Telegraph's Matt Law, the team is concerned Sakho will be out until after the next international break, which would mean him missing matches against Stoke City and Aston Villa.
Co-owner David Gold didn't sound encouraged:
I'm worried, we will know better after the scan on Monday.
On a WC :
A. Di Maria Diame Etoo +1M
or
B. Jedinak Obertan AgueroB
Neither looks a great package to me.
Any other suggestion ?
B for sure.
Caulker + Siggy -> Chambers + Chadli?
Can you afford Mane instead of Chadli?
Already have 3x SOU.
Bego, Wanyama and Pelle.
Wanyama is as frustrating to own as he is exciting. Last week off the bench for 6pts and this week for 1pt and always stopping me from getting in Tadic or Mane.Personally I'd just do Caulker to Chambers and save one if the reason you are doing it is for Siggy injury. I reckon he will be fine
Maybe just do caulker too chambers.
Probably.
I'll wait and see if Stevie scores a brace tonight and watch him rise as the casuals bring him in.
(He's going to score an own goal again, isn't he?)
Any ideas? 1 FT. I'm thinking Targett - > S.Taylor or maybe Hutton. 0.3m ITB
Foster
Clyne - Baines - Ivanovic
Fabregas - Di Maria - Tadic - Siggy
Costa - Aguero - Sakho
Subs - Wisdom, Targett, Boydi went with taylor as well. 3rd bench forever 😛
Wait you may have to transfer out Sakho.
Fabregas or Pelle for vc
Not happy with my midfield this GW, but potential replacements Hazard/Fabregas/Sanchez will require hits and loosing Sterling, AdM or Costa:
Begovic - Gilks
Baines - Clyne - Chambers - Hutton - Duff
AdM - Sterling - Siggy - Downing - Marney
Costa - Pelle - Aguero
Any ideas what to do with this lot - is it worth shipping Sterling or AdM for a hit to get Hazard, Fabregas or Sanchez. Hit would involve Begovic -> Foster, which should be like for like. Or better just stick with this midfield, and hope AdM and Sterling get some returns over next GW's ?Should have dropped Costa last week. Now better wait. If he plays then no need to get Haz.
Well, that really depends whther he plays QPR or not - if he does, sellers may regret. If he doesn't keepers will regret.
Will Downing points return increase or decrease now sakho is injured
Sakho will be fine
I'll give mystic meg a call.
Yes
This biz with the south african national team goalkeeper getting killed
Over a mobile phone....... People are stupid.....
The world is crazy and the people, unfortunately, adapt to it.
True, the real killer is poverty....
Could really do with a function to 'ignore poster.'
Click on their username, select 'ignore' and...ta-da...all posts from that person disappear for the user.Mods would get ignored 😉
Disable function with regards to Mods - simples!
I know. Still takes some implementing.
People could give you advice or a reply & it looks bad if you don't reply back. There is that I suppose.
how come ivanovic lost his clean sheet points? was sent off before the goal wasnt he?
Points are still deducted after the red card.
Goals conceded after a red by the team still count.
If a player receives a red card, they will continue to be penalised for goals conceded by their team.
schmucks
Players who get red cards are definitely schmucks.
Should have got replaced. His fault they conceded the goal.
To sell Costa or to keep..
Want Alexis!!If you've still got him, you need to wait as long as possible for news.
I guess so. Just need some Arsenal coverage. And that all depends on Costa
Form > Fixtures (Almost always!)
Truth
Every year we see a smaller club doing well early on in the season and then the inevitable drift away from the top 6 happens. This year though we have the Swans up above Man U, Liverpool, Everton and Spurs with West Ham and the Saints storming the top 4.
Can any of these 3 get a top 6 finish this year and start to break the mould?Southampton have yet to play any of the big boys. It remains to be seen if they can continue getting results.
I reckon Saints will be 5th
Chelsea
City
United
Arsenal
Saints
Liverpool/Spursutd 3rd 😆
😆
We will know more about Southampton in a few weeks once they have played some of the big boys.
Otherwise, no IMO.Saints had the same kind fixtures at the start of the season last year - most doubled up on Boruc and Shaw/Lovren. I'd like them to keep it up, but let's see what happens when their fixtures plummet southbound.
The difference is what happens to these teams when they lose important players.
Imagine Southampton losing Pelle for example.Depends if Rodriguez is available when Pelle is not.
If they lose Tadic, then maybe Ward-Prouse will be back.
Southampton are impressing me.
Saints look good enough to finish top 6 imo
Having a but of trouble here. I know I want Sanchez and Di Maria in my side but without sacrificing one of Aguero or Costa, I'm not sure how I can fit them in. Di Maria can wait. Sanchez I'd want immediately.
De Gea, Gilks
Baines, Bertrand, Taylor, Hutton, Wisdom
Fabregas, Sterling, Sigurdsson, Chadli, Marney
Costa, Aguero, Pelle
0.2 ITB . 1 FTDowngrade Sig, upgrade Sterling...........if you are that desperate.
You also have money in De Gea.
Although Sterling->Alexis looks obvious this week, I don't think I trust Arsenal. Sterling->Hazard was my original plan even though I already have Fabregas but no Arsenal cover.
Yeah I'm cooling on the Sanchez ideal might just keep welbeck until Walcott back up and running. Still not convinced on hazard though. Looks amazing but stats are poor.
Trust me only player worth getting from Arsenal is Alexis. He delivers. Wellbeck just flatters.
I think 3 of aguero, costa, Alexis and Adm are essential to have a strong team. If you can fit in all 4 then great.
Problem at the moment is who do you trust? Usually by this point things have started to settle down a bit but all I can see is uncertainty! Arsenal do have a nice run up until Xmas, and ideally Id like Walcott for it.
RMT says Sanchez for the next couple of weeks, Hazard longer term. How far ahead are you planning?
I think Costa is putting a spanner in the works, for non-owners. No doubt we'll all want him back soon enough, so seems a little hasty and short-sighted to be shaking up the midfield.
Im pretty sure that for now at least Im OK without Costa.
I might just do nothing and avoid Arsenal cover all together. Will give me another week to assess Ramsey/Walcott and also give Arsenal another CL game next week.
Was thinking of doing a Sanchez too, too scary not having any Arsenal cover. Might hold though though.. we'll see
Sanchez brimming with confidence, Burnley pretty weak... And great ars fixtures to come
I've been very frustrated as a Hazard owner since GW1.
He has played pretty well throughout the season but hasnt served up the points.
Should've scored yesterday, and then the resulting corner leads to a Fabregas assist. I was fuming 😆+1. Chelsea should have at a pen too
Can always change Sanchez to Walcott though when he starts exploding.
Really torn on this one, too. Want either Hazard or Sanchez, but not quite set on ditching Sterling nor AdM. Sterling may well get in the points again, and AdM fixtures turn for the better week after.
Isn't it too much CHE cover to have both of them?
I could also do direct swap with 0,0itb afterwards but I am still squinting on Sanchez ...
Anyone else in trouble if both Sigurdsson and Costa is still a doubt before the weekend? I can't really transfer Sigurdsson out since I don't have funds for a good replacement without selling Costa first.. and I can't say I have two good benchers as backup..
yep I'm in the same boat
I sold them for Sanchez and Pelle. I fully realise I could live to regret it
Same boat, but have a WC that I may use should things go wrong. I suspect both will play, but that's based on nothing!
What is is the highest price, that people can remember
That a GK ever reached?
A Mid reached?
or a Fwd reached?
Not talking about just this year but from previous years as wellAh crap.
I forgot the small print that says that you can't sub out a player who gets a red card.
I would have loved to sub out Ivanovic's -1, as I have Zamora on my bench. Now I have to sacrifice Lamela's 2 if I'm to sub him in.
Ivan's red card and United's goal were great for the Arsenal, but not my UFPL score.I made a comical error of having Duff (MD2) in my starting line up and Chester (MD1) in my reserves. Not even sure how that happened as I'm very methodical when selecting my line up. Cost me 5 points which is just plain annoying.
Wait for the line ups - if Zamora starts I'd sub him in for Lamela.Arsenal more likely to compete with United than Chelsea surely
Make no mistake. Arsenal is competing with both United and Chelsea because they are both competing for the title.
Many people think that United are not competing for the title. Verily I say unto them, they are deceived.
They are only 10 points off the pace in October. They have previously won the title after being 10 points off the pace at Christmas.
I captained costa!
What website are you guys using for price changes this year? I usually use totalfpl but it seems a bit off this year.
It's been broke all season. Fplstatistics.co.uk been ok but they only had Sanchez at 60% last night and he rose so be no means perfect.
What to do?
Foster/4.0
Baines/Cahill/Clyne/Duff/Dummett
ADM/Sterling/Downing/Siggy/Marney
Aguero/Costa/Pelle
A. Siggy ----> Chadli (I can sell Siggy for 6.4)
B. Sterling & Cahill -> Sanchez & Chambers (-4)
C. ADM -> Hazard/Fabregas
D. Save
Since I have 0.0 ITB if Siggy drops 0.1 I won't be able to do A.Is this move silly? Have 2 FT
Costa > Berahino
Siggy > Sanchez or EriksenAll depends on the news
If you have Costa still it's unwise to ditch imo
A) Siggy > Chadli
B) Siggy > The Oxon
C) Sterling > Oscar
D) Sterling > Caz
E) Save FTNothing that excites me in that lot so (E).
Not keen on any of those, save
E
Thanks all

If you are out Sakho - you've served your purpose over the last 3 gws 🙂 I'm sure I'll own you again.
