In our quest to outsmart Paddy this Gameweek, we’ve looked to Aston Villa’s red-hot frontman, Manchester City’s twinkle-toed playmaker and the Potters’ long-range specialist.
Our first bet of the weekend has us backing Christian Benteke to perpetuate his astonishing scoring streak. The Belgian hitman recorded ten goals in his last eight starts, bagging a brace last time out against Everton. Ally this with the fact that Villa’s opponents this week, West Ham United, have netted just four goals in the last eight Gameweeks, and Paddy’s 11/1 offer on Benteke to score two or more goals and Villa to keep a clean sheet looks worthy of a £3 investment.
Having drawn blanks in his previous five outings, David Silva is in the midst of a quiet patch on the goal front, yet a home tie against strugglers Queens Park Rangers serves as the perfect catalyst. The R’s have tallied one shut out in their last 10 and failed to score in two of their last three, encouraging us to take up Paddy’s 13/5 odds on Silva to score and City to keep a clean sheet. Indeed, we make this our bet of the week and part with a further £4.
Our final wager in this round of fixtures centres around Stoke City’s Charlie Adam as he gears up for Tottenham Hotspur’s visit on Saturday. The Scottish midfielder has been in prolific form of late, notching three goals in five starts. Meanwhile, the Lilyhwhites have not troubled the scoresheet in four of the past seven Gameweeks, giving us ample reason to capitalise on Paddy’s 12/1 offer for Adam to score and Stoke to keep a clean sheet, handing over our final £3.
