After delving into the Gameweek 5-8 data for Defenders yesterday afternoon, we now set our sights on the midfielders. Arsenal’s in-form duo arrive under analysis, whilst we also cast an eye over City and West Ham’s summer signings and analyse the recent displays of Southampton’s wide men as the fixtures turn in their favour.
Which of the Liverpool players do you think will become a fantsay prospect under Klopps style? I think it will still be Studs ahead of Benteke. Maybe Firmino will get a boost too.
Give it time.
I'm looking at Moreno, 4.7m will be a bargain.
Moreno Sakho at 4.7, 4.8
so its really goodbye gomez now?
Gomez CB
This
Hopefully.
442?
4231
Doubt it.
not looked at klopps setups but if he likes 3 at the back gomez has a chance
Do you say that as a hopeful Gomez owner?
of course
Facts are, no one had any idea and now is not the time for guess work.
Henderson maybe too, more late runs into the box.
Lol @ Liverpool for not getting Martin O'Neill as manager
😆
Gonna be some piss-up in town tonight!
Sunday will be another 😀
serbia vs albania match go smoothly?
Yea, one altercation about a rightfully disallowed goal, but such a god awful match. Two late goals, ljajic stepped up. Really boring to watch, wasted 2 hours.
Ivanovic and Matic got injured tho.
Hey all, what are some good options for defenders 5m or less? (Lower the better)
I'm looking to get a cheaper defense in order to fund better moves in midfield later.
Currently have: Cedric(will keep) - Dawson(keep) - Azpi(good riddance) - Taylor(willing to change) Kolorov(give him a few weeks)
Looking into the likes of: Nyom, Ward*, Huth, Davies, Martin etc..
Any help would be appreciated!
ThanksBellerin or Monreal if u can afford?
True, I forgot about Bellerin.. he is definitely one to get. Maybe for Azpi after next GW.
Thanks
Anyone fancy Silva with KDB looking so good for 3 of 4 games when he didn't play (and Silva picking up 2 assists last weekend)?
KDB is different level beast
Hmm, that's what has been in my mind for the last few days, essential transfer. But Silva doesn't seem to be in any of the stock fantasy line ups, no one high in my ml has got him. Just a thought...
Both are great players no doubt, but from a fantasy football point of view KDB is likely to score a lot more goals than Silva and so is the better player to have. Both should get plenty of assists.
^^^ 🙂
KDB didnt score that many last season, it was almost all assists.
He does score more goals than Silva generally though doesn't he, more known for goals than Silva, though both score plenty of assists. He already has a few after only a couple of matches.
No doubt but I think people are writing Silva off too early. It's a unanimous decision based off a couple of games. Silva has looked awesome when he has played, he's missed 3 games in between through injury and still been epic. Time will tell when he has a regular run.
Silva is quality, one of the best players in England. But KDB looks more lively in front of goal. If Silva has one fault it's that he doesn't often take a shot on, whereas KDB will take a shot. Only time will tell who is better but I think and hope both have brilliant seasons.
True, good thinking. It's just that Silva would be a strange player to class as a differential! Both on about 11% ownership (KDB - players/Silva - casuals). Undoubtedly I will be bringing KDB in this week but would just be gutted to see him go quiet...
im keeping silva, he has looked really good and is making plenty runs into the box. the argument is KDB is more direct but i saw a lot of potential in silva vs newcastle.
Silva had a great season last season. He is class. Am aware that a bucket load of new players this season have started well and then settled into their usual, Silva is tried and tested, will KDB keep it up?
Both are great options and should finish high on the midfielders chart at the end of the season.
Silva is guaranteed to produce the goods consistently throughout a full season, with KDB we don;t know that yet. Yes, he has looked amazing so far, but so did Di Maria. With Silva you know what you get.
That's true. As a City fan I really hope KDB keeps it up for the season but no guarantees. Silva perhaps may be the safest option in that regard. But like with the Newcastle match, it could be the case that where one does well, the other will do well also.
I've been trying to work out a way to get both of them in, although loathe to give up Kolarov as reckon clean sheets should be more likely once Kompany is back
And once Clichy returns
Surely a KDB, Silva, Aguero triple up would be too much?
Bit too pricy. Lampard, Malouda and Drogba was gold for a while a few seasons back but they were a couple of mill cheaper
Clichy is one of those players that always becomes a better player while injured when the reality is he lost his place last year and is garbage now.
with the midfield options available i dont think its possible. payet, sanchez and mahrez are looking hard to drop.
It's possible but there's no need, Sanchez, Mahrez, Payet, Silva/KDB +1 (currently on Ayew for me) is more than enough without killing other areas.
Saying that, if Aguero ever gets injured....
And he is likely to
Currently Sanch, Mahrez, Payet, Ayew, and Toure - switch to follow a week on Friday...
That's my current midfield, Sanchez, Payet, Mahrez, Silva, Tadic. it is definitely possible(replacing Mahrez and Tadic) but would require cut backs elsewhere which may also be difficult to unwind.
Oh God. Poland - Ireland is just going to be 90 mins of heart attacks. (Polish Fan)
Never realised Liam Brady could smile.
Hold Gomez, see if Klopp gives him a chance?
That's what I'm doing. Otherwise switching to Moreno soon
it helps if u have 3 decent starters to buy time on gomez. not keen on playing francis next week
Move on mate, assess in a few weeks, not the time to play blindly.
The best third placed team goes through, that could be Poland or Ireland. Whoever finishes 3rd has a great chance, maybe both will automatically qualify.
Ukraine could take that spot.
Yeah going into this round of fixtures they were the only third place team with more points than Ireland. A win tonight certainly helps. They play tomorrow night I think.
C'mon Georgia! Haha
It would be great but I can't see that happening. All of Ireland will be going for them though haha.
Which midfield do you prefer - on a WC
Sanchez Yaya Payet Walcott Wanyama
Sanchez KdB Payet Mane GoslingB. But not alot in it

Cheers for replies

Love the article; Neil asks Hoolohan to conserve his energy! Wizard nearly killed himself tonight, and won a lot of ball. He'll be fit for the knackers yard after Sunday.
Hahaha
Best fifth midfield option on a wc?
Drinkwater (more cash for defence)
Alli (punt)
ZahaAlli
Feck only realised I brought in Begovic for Schmeichel
Two big defensive injuries for Chelsea tonight 😕They helped with the 3 goals.
Ivanovic and Matic? Looks like Mourinho will get lucky by default
This. They have both been poor so I can see it being a positive.
Take a look at the chances conceded down the right for Chelsea compared to the left.Mikel or Ramires instead of Matic and they are winning the title 😉
Ivanovic injury should be music to your bloody ears!!!
Ivanovic missing should be seen as a blessing!
Loftus cheek
Or maybe Zouma
So which, if any, of these stats are significant. I think numbers over 100 reflect clear ability or threat. But anything below 20 could just be an aberration.
Neither stat seems relevant
221 shots by KDB in four matches is pretty decent.
I obviously misread that. 221 shots is quite extraordinary.
14.3.....the amount of times one of Coutinho's shots bounces before it reaches the goal.
It's the .3, that confounds the keeper.
....classic keeper staring down blaming the pitch. Paul Robinson had that look nailed.
Poor from Baird and Lafferty.. Not the brightest bulbs in the chandelier but still, pouring beer over the reporter was pretty naff
Duff move.
Guess no one watches Simpsons these days....
Not since 1999. Have yourself a throat soothing Laramie to unwind.
I got it.
And I don't even watch The Simpsons.Good man....and neither do I for the record 🙂
Well done to the Irish teams, enjoy 🙂
Ivan injury is good for Rahman or someone else?
Mourinho will be forced to do what everyone except him saw was obvious
Azpil, Terry/Cahill/Zouma, Baba
Azpili, Terry, Zouma, Baba
Cahill needs a timeout after last gamethis
Terry is the worst culprit of the lot, closely followed by Ivanovic.
Legs have gone now, he's a liability. Mou needs to be brave and drop both of them. Time to move on.
for chelsea
Jose
Azpi can whip crosses in on his natural right foot.
Qualifying for Euros these days is so easy.
Yeah i thought it was a bad move by sepp blatter and FIFA increasing number of teams in the comp. However seeing the excitement from fans of teams of smaller countries like Ireland tonight who rarely qualify, it might be one if the only good things he did in his time.
I agree with this. Spread the joy. Cricket administrators take note.
Not sure. I think it devalues qualification. 18 months to reduce the teams by just over 50% will only further trivialise qualifiers. Imho, it's a power grab by Uefa.
There's gonna be two sides of the fence and I can see both arguments. Tonight I'm favouring the move but will see how it plays out in the long run.
Football governing bodies will always foster corruption while the system operates on a 1 member - 1 vote system. It allows the smaller countries to outvote the bigger ones. For the bigger nations, a larger tournament is of no benefit and the dilution, debalues it. For weaker nations, it doubles their qualifying chances so any dilution effects are dramatically outweighed by the increased chance of qualifying. A fairer system requires a move to weight the votes towards the larger countries.
Kunitz - Crosby - Kessel
Tonight the fireworks start.50 goals in sight for kessel if he plays with those 2 all year, pittsburgh will fail though. Tampa or anaheim wins
Chara out for Bruins opener tonight.
If anyone's interested.
Which to be honest they're probably not.
And to tell you the truth, neither was I really.I am, but I new it. Unfortunately I had already placed tonights bets when I learned that....
So, go Bruins!!!Indeed, go Bruins.
Feel for the Pirates today though. 98 wins this season and yet another one and done in the playoffs.
A bit like Peyton Manning really.
Yep probably.
Red wings fan here, but very excited to see the new Pittsburgh line up, gonna cause havoc everywhere anytime.
Also have a soft spot for Oilers as they were magnificent when I grew up and Connor McD seems to be the real deal.
Tweet of the day
https://twitter.com/bpfootball/status/652231422095196160?s=09Typical Irish. Say one too many then hold two fingers up.
why typical irish?
Wow. Crazy night. Northern ireland at the euros? Shocked.
The only shock is Scotland failing... It was billed as the tourno where everyone half decent should qualify with the new format
Can't wait for their future talents to declare for Ireland now 😎
Scotland aren't half decent
So much this.
Are Northern ireland?
Lucky to end up in the group they did. Like England.
The North have a decent side lots of players playing in the premier league
Tbh im so disillusioned with England under Hodgson that i wasnt paying attention to qualifying and I had no idea that N. Ireland were close to qualifying.
Forget all this Euros lark. The focus should still be on Jurgen!!
Or the fact that its the Colts v Texans tonight.
Yeah, bloody hell, need Foster to bag me some points. Would like to put this weeks matchup to bed early.
Got no one playing tonight.
Trying to wangle a trade for Brady but the guys playing hardball wanting Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald.
I'm trying to see if he'll take Palmer and Brandin Cooks for TB112.
Sad, I got Cooks in the 3rd round but he's done jack all so far.
Whoever has DeAndre Hopkins should be in for a good night.
I'm waiting for the Colts +3.5 for a decent win on my bets, fancy my chances ?
Yeah, I do actually.
The Colts should have lost to the Jags but their idiot kicker contrived to twice miss an easy field goal at the end of regulation on Sunday.
But Houston are poor and Indy should have enough offense even without Luck to score enough points. Hasselback is a pretty decent backup QB.
Foster's first game of the season so not sure how sharp he'll be if he starts.Cheers mate, sounds promising !
Need funding
a) Hazard -> KDB
b) Darmian -> 5.0 or less defenderBoth 😉
Moreno? Sakho?
Not much happening on the transfer front, 'casuals' getting wiser due to exposure on this site?
It's always like this during international week. You're sounding too casual WR.
I would have thought casuals only do transfers on Saturday morning or Saturday afternoon for the following week.
Midweek transfers implies some sort of greater interest.Maybe I meant knee jerkers 🙂
Arrr maybe so. 🙂
Watched the Ireland game down in the pub some buzz down there
Will go down in the history books as one of our best results everAny news on Alexis? Worried =/
