Sunday is a low-key affair this Gameweek, with Newcastle’s home tie against Norwich City serving as the solitary fixture for Fantasy managers to absorb. The Magpies – who were systematically dismantled by Man City last time out – are still in pursuit of their maiden victory this campaign, while the Canaries recorded just one win in their last six outings.
The Toon are floundering in all facets of the game this term, yet a paucity of goal threat remains their most glaring deficiency: Newcastle rank rock bottom for goals (six), attempts (67), shots inside the box (38) and shot on target (23). They’ve improved a little over the last three Gameweeks, though, bagging four goals and placing in the middle of the pack for shots on target (14).
Alex Neil’s men scored in all but one fixture through the first eight Gameweeks, but their rearguard has been penetrated with ease of late: Norwich have conceded a whopping 13 more shots inside the box (65) and two more big chances (15) than any team since Gameweek 4. Moreover, they’re one of three sides not to register a single shut-out, which bodes well for Newcastle’s attacking prospects.
