I cannot wait for these DGW's! They're going to be so much fun. Personally I am going to be taking hits left, right and centre and looking to score BIG!

Baines -> Bellerin worth a FT or just keep hold of the Arsenal man? Also best replacement for Myhill? My other goalkeeper is Wayne Hennessey.

Keep Bellerin. Schmeichel, Gomes or Butland come to mind. Maybe wait to see which keeper has a DGW

Yeah I think I should keep him for now and I'm leaning towards Schmeichel as well, although Gomes seems like a good pick too. Will wait for DGW fixture confirmation first before deciding on my transfers.

Two new recruits hopefully this week. Kone from Lorient. Centre half. He's a right unit. Hopefully we can nab debuchy too. That should shore thing up a little.

Jones is awful at RB and the fact we're got ourselves into a position that we need to rely on brown is shocking really.

10m + Borini is a very good offer. Swans must be tempted at least.

Well borini saying he's 100% staying at Sunderland and other reports saying he wasn't part of the bid. Different media outlets seem to be saying different things. I won't get too excited until he's signed and I see the standard scarf above the head photo.

Fans aren't convinced. The sceptics think it's Sunderland putting the rumours out so it looks like they're going after quality, I.e.its just to keep fans happy when we'll ultimately end up with some over the hill player on loan that isn't good enough. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed it might happen though but doesn't seem likely.

I'm a Yank, so not as close to it as those across the pond. Do you think Walker's spot is seriously threatened by Trippier? I didn't think Trippier looked all that effective over the weekend. But I hate dealing with even the risk of rotation.

Whilst they have a heavy schedule, rotation will be happening. Walker doesn't do 2 games in a row well.

    RMT please

    Butland, McCarthy
    Bellerin, Alderweireld, Cathcart, Francis, Simpson
Mahrez, De Bruyne, Ozil, Payet, Alli
    Aguero, Kane, Lukaku

    0 ITB, 2 FT

I'm considering transferring out KDB for Firmino. Also considering Barkley for Mahrez (less inclined though). Or does my defense need work?

Butland is a no for me. Stats without Shawcross are very low compared to with.

Not sure about KDB, would prefer Silva there.

I would get Kosc instead of Bellerin, and perhaps a WBA defender instead of Simpson if you can squeeze it.

Thoughts on any transfers I should make? This team, to me, looks very solid.

    Lloris
    Evans - Dawson - Jags
    Sanchez - Silva - Barkley - Firmino
    Aguero - Kane - Lukaku

Subs: Hennessey; Daniels, Targett, Stanislas .1 ITB, 1FT

To be fair, it's been going on in football for years. As long as they have a passport for whatever nation and they're proud to represent that nation it should be ok, imo anyway.

I do agree really. It is the same in all sports to some degree.

When the player sounds speaks quite clearly in a foreign aspect it is a bit strange.

"Linlithgow Rose became the first junior team to reach the last 16 of the Scottish Cup after Kevin Kelbie struck in extra-time against Forfar Athletic.

After a goalless 90 minutes, visiting substitute Michael Jones set up Kelbie to score five minutes from time to knock out the League One side.

    ...

Rose suffered a blow ahead of kick off against Forfar, with captain Mark Tyrell missing from their defence as he was unable to swap a shift at the sausage factory where he works." 😀

I believe that in the Spurs defence Rose and Davies alternate when fit. The only reason we have the impression one of them may be first choice is down to Europa league, cup games and injuries. This sometimes gives the impression that one of them is first choice as midweek games inevitably give rise to the Saturday player always being the same person. Once there isn't a midweek game it gives the league games to somepone else

I think Spurs are doing the same thing with Walker and Trippier now

Yup , its a big pain in the arse....hopefully 4.6m Wimmer becomes nailed...

You may be right but I have a theory (unfounded one 😛 ) that whenever Trippier plays Spurs a 3-4-3 with Rose on the other side....I may be wrong tho...

Liverpool only copped 0.5 vs Norwich but conceded 4 goals.
Guess most of https://public.tableau.com/profile/paul.riley#!/vizhome/PremierLeagueManagers/Sheet1 shots in that game didn't factor in then?

It's Paul Rileys. 2/8 is the right page.
So they are using different numbers for xG?

            • 10 Years
            8 years, 7 months ago

yes, Riley uses SoTs only and is scaled up to reflect that. Whereas Caley uses all shots. In a game where everything goes on target, Riley produces much higher values.

                IMO

Both are really good but a form ticker based on SoT is not good as high/low shot accuracy ws are unsustainable and thus it gives us false info

                8 years, 7 months ago

I much prefer Caley's for its granularity and precision, but Riley has the benefit of much more open data for FPLers. Both are better than straight shot numbers for sure.
