City could probably have 2 DGWs. Don't think they will play on gw30 either

Think the 2nd one is dependent upon them beating Chelsea in the FA Cup.

Got two free transfers and I want in on Saints and Leicester defence.

I also have Bellerin but have noticed that Cech is killing it for points at the moment.

    A) Butland and Moreno to Forster and Fuchs
    B) Butland and Bellerin to Cech and Fuchs

Also got Ozil and Sanchez so cant double up.

I don't know who you'll captain. I don't know who you want. If you're looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money in the bank but what I do have are a very particular set of two trannies. Trannies I have acquired over a very long international break. Trannies that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you & then transfer triplee captain in your FPL account.

I could go on a 2000 word rant listing the many reasons why, but it'd get deleted probably. I just think it was one of the catalysts to the downfall of society that we're currently on.

Social engineering on a whim for one, displaying only negative statuses to tens/hundreds of thousands of people to see if/how much sadder it made those people's posts and whether it affected how long they stayed online.

Turning promoted posts into an addiction as another point, the more you promote posts, the lower the reach they give your future posts so you have then pay to more and more to promote those future posts to the levels of your original posts.

              I could go on...

Its a necessary evil in this digital age where people are locked into an online lifestyle. At least social media can enable people to easily interact with the world around them. I would suggest the the internet age is the greater evil but it also makes the world go round, meh.

I'm tempted to get rid of Moreno too, but when I'm doing such moves last 3 weeks then those players scores double digit hauls 🙁 That's why I have to reconsder my dissapointment of Moreno's last game and give him one more chance against Villa. I know we are feckd at the back recently tho..

How's this for Rough with the Smooth.....

Transferred out Lukaku and Ozil to Vardy and Sanchez -4 and swapped Payet with Mahrez last minute a super cool 30pts lost!

    I'm a gobsh*te!

The best way to combat Leicester is to sit back and counter. The big teams still don't want to do this (are they too proud?). I'm guessing Leicester might struggle against the more average teams as they look to contain Leicester rather than go on the offensive.

I'm sure it will but the difference is that Leicester perform best on the counter. They won't get those opportunities against teams that will defend deep.

But at this stage of the season relegation teams start looking for wins and they stop sitting back, if anything I think the desperation will play into Leicesters hands

Relegation threatened teams are pragmatic. A draw against the top of the table team will be an excellent result.

I said 'might'. It depends how these teams chose to play. No one will succeed against Leicester if they expose themselves to counter attacks.

Teams perform differently at different stages in a season. Bottom of the table teams will make themselves very difficult to beat as they get more and more desperate. This happens every season.

Bottom of the table teams are there because they lack quality.

Leicester have more than enough for those sides, like they have shown for everyone else in the division.

I don't think teams need to set up on the counter vs Leicester, I think they need to have defensive players quick enough to deal with the Leicester players who stretch the game.

City got severely undone by this.

City didn't defend deep enough. Long balls to Vardy will be ineffective if the defence stays deep and prevent balls going over the top. Pulis football is required to defuse Leicester's pace.

Man City were chasing the game from minute 3. Go back to the King Power game in December, both teams sat back and it was a very cagey 0-0.

As you would expect. Contain Leicester, play cagy and you'll prevent them from winning. Don't play to their strengths eg Counter, pace

Yeah I'm just pointing out the original plan went out of the window when Leicester went one nil up and Leicester can defend pretty well when they're leading.

Agreed though if you can frustrate them for long enough you've got a chance but if you go behind to the you're fecked.

Yep I'd agree with that. Its a strategy that relies upon not being behind early on. Also City are a team that would expect to beat them at home. They are the sort of team that likes to dominate sides anyway, it wouldn't be in their nature to sit back and counter at home to Leicester (rightly or wrongly)

Surely in the 25 games Leicester have played in the league this season, there have been sides who have sat back against them?

That's a fair point Man City have a history of smelling blood in the big games at home and going for it. I think Chelsea may be the only team they've not battered at some point.

You have to consider that its only in recent times that Leicester has been considered a top team worth respect.

They could've defended deeper it wouldn't have mattered IMO.

Vardy vs Demichelis is going to happen in a foot race over 90mins it doesn't really matter how you intend to set up high, deep, whatever. That one v one is going to happen and the guy with the pace will leave the other for dust.

And that ball was on all day for Leicester, because Demichelis and Otamendi have no pace.

I used to be a CB myself and if you sit deep its a lot easier to defend against pace than being too high up the pitch. It does make a difference but it also requires a DM who will dominate.

Irrelevant argument. I'm talking about tactics and counter tactics. Playing to strengths, targeting weaknesses, using logic. Its not rocket science.

Exactly, you make my point for me.

If you are Leicester, Ranieri and Vardy and you see Demichelis on the teamsheet you rub your hands together.

                          Lightening pace v a turtle.

Playing strengths vs weaknesses...its not rocket science now, is it?

All well and good having an idea of a game plan but you need personnel with the right abilities to execute it.

Wouldn't have mattered a jot if Demichelis played 15 yards deeper. He'd a still been all over the shop because he's a complete relic.

So in this instance City should have defended deeper to counter the issue. It would be suicide if they defended high. Also City should have used a dedicated DM to help. However as City are a top side they'd be too proud to play in such a fashion at home to Leicester. This is why I believe lesser teams will do better as they won't play to Leicester's strengths unlike City.

Whats also interesting is that Leicester are so crap at keeping possession that the opposition can't help but play higher up with pitch with the amount of possession they have. City are a top team and with slow CB's playing high up the pitch (because City had all the ball) they were sitting ducks for Quick Leicester count attacks. My whole argument is that high possession football doesn't work too well against Leicester, if anything it plays to their strengths as they use their pace for quick counter attacks.

                          Fair enough.

My view is that your view is too simplistic.

I think even if teams set up tactically to play deep or contain Leicester there will be in games instances where they are high up the pitch one v one against Vardy & Mahrez. Especially these poorer quality teams, the concentration slips. If they had the personnel and tactics to nullify Leicester they wouldn't be in the mess they are currently in. They dont.

Interestingly when City were deep Mahrez scored.

So leave the space behind Vardy gets you, leave it in front Mahrez gets you.

Fair point. Bottom teams will be happy with 1 point against Leic knowing they are lethal on the counter. Expect them to sit deep which often may not have been the case in the reverse fixture.

its a fair point, especially with the teams battling for survival at the end of the season who might not leave space for long balls to vardy. i do think though that they have enough creativity to break defences down, solid pace and tricky especially on the wings and are also good with set plays.

City might have done if they didn't go 1 nil down in the 3rd minute. The first game between them was very cagey.

I know. It can only work against certain teams and I'm thinking a side like Leicester that relies upon counter attacks is the sort of attack a deep sitting defence can do well against.

The blueprint to beating Leicester was shown by Liverpool at Anfield, attack them, if you lose the ball, win the ball back off them quickly.

Liverpool 26 shots. Leicester 7 shots.

It's hard to ignore Diego Costa, Alli, Mahrez, Cech and Southampton's/Leicester's defence at the moment. Such fine form. Wildcarding is tempting but probably not the best move.
