The ScoutCast – Episode 197 – Rom-antics

Romelu Lukaku saved my Gameweek and put a new spring in my step.

More importantly, it denied Granville the opportunity to indulge in one of his most favourite hobbies – picking holes in my “wasted” Wildcards.

Silenced by the Everton striker and early technical issues, Granville nonetheless returns to join myself, Jonty and Andy as we pick the bones out of Gameweek 4 and look ahead to the next.

With Lukaku and Diego Costa firing, this week’s raft of community questions are dominated by talk of going without Sergio Aguero or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

I’m more than happy to add further fuel to that fire by testing an anti-Zlatan maverick theory, only to be shot down by my co-hosts.

Does Etienne Capoue present another route to packing cash in our forward lines?

Can Jonty really find a good reason to justify having Jason Puncheon?

Will Granville’s cat make an appearance?

You can get the answers to all this and more by tuning in.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

You can't find it now I think.
      But the logic is:

Heaton got 150 point in the only season Burnley played in PL with only 10 cs. Foster Myhill combined got 139 I think with 11 cs last season. Everyone is trying to have Foster Heaton or Foster Pickford(who wont be nailed in a matter of time).

Heaton got 3 against Chelsea conceding 3 goals. 10 against Liverpool. So he is kind of fixture proof. And is getting Baps because of the defense having no 'Baps magnet'. While, Robinson would play if Heaton gets injured thus saving you 1 FT incase Heaton gets injured/suspended. Same cant be said with Jaku/Pickford

Shameless repost (thanks Zasa last page)

Just one question from me today-

    A. AOA with Capoue playing
B Play Masuaku (Wh) away to West Brom

A silly card, want Capoue on the pitch, West Brom cant score?

Thanks and will try to reply to all questions back

It's going to be cut throat next week to get Aguero in!!

    Front 3 of GW6 fixtures -

    Benteke (Away Sun)
    Lukaku (A Bou)
    Ibrahimovic (H Lei)

And to found it Possibly one of these two -

    Ozil (H Chel, H Swans, H Mid)
    Hazard (A Ars, H Lei, H ManU)

    A) Baines Firmino/Lallana/Lamela
    B) Williams Mane

    Rest of team:
    Cech Jakupovic
    Walker XXXX Valencia McAuley Love
Cazorla XXXX Antonio Capoue De Roon
    Ibra Kun Lukaku

Basically comes down to Everton pens vs stronger (I think) midfield. Thoughts?

Not a fan of ditching Bony, he has got plenty of service and had 4 attemps vs Spurs. Now that he has got a bit of match sharpness into him think he could hit form this weekend. That said, if I was wc'ing next GW i'd probably do the same as I'd want Nacho(c) vs Cherries

hey Shifty, owners see glass half full, a kick up the bum. Non- owners seem to think could be dropped. Not worth a hit imo.
But, the fact that ?s over his place means hes not a great long term pick imo

definitely - he's permanently out on WC next GW.

It's been super frustrating owning/not owning him this season and last. Will not touch him for the rest of the season - too bloody inconsistent and i'm not sure why I fell for the trap again this time. Thought things will be different.

Bolasie sat there for 6.0 looking a cheaper way into EV mid.

“There was a reason to change Ross at half-time because he did not play well, he lost many balls and players of that quality can’t lose those kinds of balls,” the manager said. “We analysed the game as always and had individual talks. I had them with Ross and he needs to improve and, OK, we will see at the weekend.”

          • 15 Years

We will see [how Barkley responds] on Saturday,” he said. “He needs to understand his role in the team and needs to understand there are some parts of the pitch where you can’t lose balls. He has to give support to the rest of the team when we don’t have the ball, be aggressive and don’t have too much doubt in your play. It is difficult for younger players – he was out of the national team and then his manager changed him at half‑time. It is a difficult moment for the boy but he needs all the support from the manager, the fans, his team-mates and finally from the player himself.

Anyone being put off w6 WC due to the long gameweek?

Ideally wildcards are best activated at the start of the week, however with the Chelsea match being on friday it makes it tricky to know if actually need to wildcard or not until at least after saturdays matches, however tha misses all the early week price rises.

It has put me off wildcarding this week, not that i need to anyway really, but the option has become less attractive due to the Friday match, anyone else feel the same?

          Wildcard Team (Post GW5)

          Heaton* Pickford*
          Williams Stones Holebas* Evans* Amat
Haz Mane* Antonio* Capoue De Roon*
Kun Ibra Lukaku* (Iheanacho punt in GW5)

          Non Wildcard Team (Post GW5)

          Foster* Jaku*
          Valencia* Williams Stones Friend* Amat
          Haz Firmino* Lamela* Adnan/5.5* Capoue
Kun Ibra Benteke (Negredo in GW5)

          To wildcard or not to.

Primarily means Antonio lukaku mane over Firmino Lamela benteke. I can still maybe go alexis over Haz considering fixtures. And allows me an iheanacho punt. It's difficult this year with so many players I want. There is a fixture shift this week. Will there be one later?

I think there are more fixture shifts. In a way i prefer your non wildcard team. Dont like Capoue as a Fourth mid

I agree don't go Capoue as 4th mid, but I would WC to get in the players you want. Mane, Antonio, Aguero, reshuffle defence should be plenty of points over the next weeks.

      • 9 Years

You don't even need to WC if you have Capoue. He has some good fixtures coming up. And I'd be replacing my deadwood like Redmond, Gray, Friend by GW8 and have a solid team. Preferring a late wildcard this time out as the squad is doing decent for now.

Yep reckon of going to do it then its best to be decisive and go straight away, plus means can do a one week punt this week , knowing the card will be played

Already went Benteke over Iheanacho, plan to WC and bring in Baines and Heaton before their rises, as I might want them on WC.

Not the long GW putting me off, just like to hold onto it for as long as I can, probably only 3 or 4 I defintely want rid and then to get Aguero back as well I should be able to do this over the next few weeks with FTs or one hit, two at most

imho, it's more important to stop the rot rather than try and make the necessary transfers over a few weeks.

If you have players that are stinking up the team (i'm thinking guys like Redmond Lamela Negredo Gray Barkley Townsend), you'll continue being a few weeks behind if you stagger transfers.

Yeah possibly Shifty, although I just think back to some seasons where my team is half flagged with injuries and the rest underperformers and its turmoil without a WC. My real stinkers right now are really only Townsend and Gray albeit there are a couple more that could be improved.

depends on your team but i'm pretty sure i'm wildcarding

Morgan, Stones, Redmond, Gray, Barkley, possibly Sanchez need to be shifted to make way for better prospects.

      1. Twelve years a slave

Gray and Redmond probably do, although Redmond could quite easisly score tomorrow. Barkley could start and benefit from his wake p call, while Sanchez could do anything.

Two weeks ago people were saying Bolasie and Eriksen were stinking up my team, however everything very fickle at the moment, so dont be so quick to write players off

Yep I'm keeping Gray Redmond this week but it's quite clear long term they aren't great picks.

Barkley too inconsistent imo and the only reason I bring up Sanchez really is the cash.

I agree with you though on writing players off...just frustrated with my team right now. Dropping from 13k to 180k in a week is not fun.

this. getting Nacho now without a WC played in week 6 is a very ineffecient use of 2 FTs - a waste even.

I've always just worried about my ml h2h but this year I'm going for highest overall rank. Currently sitting 12k but don't deserve it. Been working stupidly long hours and forgot to do my team over the last international break. Was going to take siggy kun and firmino out, instead got siggys and firminos goals and capoues from the bench.

Wanted to make sure I didn't forget this week so done my 2 ft and went siggy/redmond to carzola/snoddy. Good moves or not? Team is...
    Jaku/fosterling
    Shaw/stones/pva/amat/friend
    Carzola/snoddy/firm/hazard/capo
    Ibra/kun/gray

    Foster
    Valencia Stones Evans (Friend Amat)
    Hazard Sanchez Barkley Lamela (Capoue)
    Zlatan Costa Gray

WCing tomorrow. Which move for 1 week?
    (A) Barkley to Antonio
    (B) Barkley to Tadic
    (C) Friend to Kelly
    (D) Costa to Lukaku

It's hard to say. My full team is

        Foster (Jaku)
        Shaw Stones Pieters (Amat Friend)
        Sanchez Hazard Redmond Barkley (Fletcher)
        Ibra Lukaku Negredo

Will need to get Aguero back in, Negredo/Barkley on the chopping block, maybe Redmond too.
