Paddy Says

Paddy Says – Gameweek 13

Frankie says ‘Relax’, Paddy says ‘Anytime Goalscorer and Clean Sheet odds to tempt you – and that’s before you factor in enhanced offers for new customers’.

That’s why Paddy remains a bookie, not a popular eighties beat combo, but you could end up going to Hollywood or anywhere else you fancy if you win big on his odds this week.

We’ll start with those new customer tempters.

Man City have won twice in a row on the road, so a tricky trip to Burnley will hold no fears and you can get 4-1 on City dining out on that particular Lancashire hot pot.

Liverpool have put eight past the last two visitors to Anfield and although Sunderland are in the midst of a mini-revival, 3-1 on the Reds to win looks about right.

You’ll get 4-1 on Man United to beat West Ham which, if Mourinho’s men can get anywhere close to their Feyenoord form, is decidedly doable, while Chelsea to turn over Spurs looks just as likely, and Paddy’s offering 6-1 on that very occurence.

That match is a derby though, so don’t bet against Tottenham springing a surprise. Do bet on it and you can get a mouth-watering 12-1 for your troubles.

And over in accumulator corner, 12-1 is also the price on Leicester, Liverpool and Chelsea all winning. The Foxes are at home to Middlesbrough, for your information.

Be sure to check the terms and conditions on those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18 or over. And if you’re going to wager, please always gamble responsibly.

Top of our captaincy poll and the shortest of the Anytime Goalscorer odds – reports of a foot problem haven’t dampened the enthusiasm of Fantasy managers, or Paddy, when it comes to Sergio Aguero (1.36).

A trip to Burnley is not exactly the stuff of dreams for a striker this season – the Clarets have kept two clean sheets and conceded more than one goal just the once at Turf Moor – so tipping Sergio looks like a longer shot than his price would have you believe.

There’s a trio of Liverpool players at 1.72 to score against Sunderland. Philippe Coutinho is being favoured by more of us for armband duties, with Roberto Firmino also well backed and Sadio Mane a distant third. Five of Sadio’s six goals this season have come at Anfield, though…

It usually requires a hot day in Hull for Fantasy managers to pile in on Sunderland strikers, but this week not one but two of them are in the top four for new acquisitions.

Form and fixtures are the reason behind the Black Cat bonanza, with Jermain Defoe (3.75) on a three-match scoring streak and Victor Anichebe (6.00) netting three goals from his last two starts.

Liverpool kept a clean sheet last time out – only the second time they’ve managed that all season – and their single Anfield shut-out came courtesy of a United team who spent the match checking the mirrors while they parked the Mourinho bus in Gameweek 8.

Those odds on the Sunderland duo look decidedly reasonable as a result.

Harry Kane is at 2.87 to be the first person to score against Chelsea since late September. It’s a tough call, but Harry has a knack of making his mark in London derbies and how often in this life are you going to get shorter odds on Frazier ’24 minutes of league action all season’ Campbell scoring than Kane?

Gylfi Sigurdsson has been catching our Fantasy eye this week. He scored last time out for an improving Swansea (although they couldn’t have got much worse) and is priced at 2.62 for a repeat showing at home to a Palace side without a clean sheet all season.

The Eagles have also shipped six goals over their last two trips, so Sigurdsson should at least get a decent opportunity to shine for the Swans once again.

CLEAN SHEET ODDS – GAMEWEEK 13

TeamOdds
Liverpool1.90
Manchester City2.00
Manchester United2.20
Arsenal2.25
Leicester City2.37
Chelsea2.50
Southampton2.62
West Brom2.70
Watford2.87

Six clean sheets on the spin, a home match with a Spurs team that hasn’t won away in their last three league attempts and yet Paddy is offering a very generous 2.50 on Chelsea shutting down their seventh consecutive opponent? Grab it now before he changes his odds-swamped mind.

The Fantasy Premier League money is certainly on a cleanie for the Blues – three of the four most transfered-in defenders this Gameweek are Chelsea players.

Liverpool defenders Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne are also in the top ten transfers-in table. The Reds have kept two clean sheets in their last four home matches while only Burnley have scored fewer than Sunderland’s four goals on the road.

All that goes a long way to explaining why Jurgen Klopp’s men are 1.90 for a shut-out, although the Blacks Cats are finding some form at last, as mentioned above.

West Brom’s 2.70 price is rather more tempting. Shutting down Burnley at The Hawthorns last week was to be expected and doing the same to Hull away isn’t that much more of a stretch.

The Tigers have the league’s joint-worst home record of five goals scored, while only two teams have kept it tighter than the Baggies on the road, where they’ve conceded just six times.

No-one’s put more than one goal past the Middlesbrough defence since Gameweek 6 and they’ve kept two of their clean sheets this season away from home.

What price another one at Leicester this afternoon? 4.33 as it happens.

Juninho probably is probably the highest Brazilian goalscorer in the premier league history.

Mirandinha at Newcastle in the 80s in the old first division will be up there too.

My now seemingly weekly pre-GW dream consisted of:

    - Harry Kane flagged with back injury
    - Aguero two minute cameo

Not as thrilling as the time when Hazard scored a hattrick for Arsenal.

    Thoughts on who to play?

    Heaton, Pickford

    Alonso, Mcauley, Walker, Amat, Love

    Hazard, Firmino, Walcott, Gundo, Lallana

    Aguero, Austin, Lukaku

    Or go

Lallana and Aguero - Coutinho and costa/kane/ibra/defoe for -4

      Heaton
      Alonso - Walker - McAuley / Holebas
      Hazard - Firmino - Coutinho - Walcott
      Costa - Austin - Lukaku

Then bring in Kane for Lukaku next week
