Sunday eases us back into the Gameweek 22 action with a tie that, in truth, offers scant interest for Fantasy managers.
Viable and consistent assets have largely been a rarity within the Southampton and Leicester City ranks, although today’s midday kick-off does at least grant us the opportunity to scout out a pair of emerging Saints assets.
With Jose Fonte’s departure to West Ham United now confirmed, Maya Yoshida is currently unrivalled for his starts alongside Virgil van Dijk in the Southampton backline. The Japanese international starts his seventh successive match in all competitions today, and at just 4.2 in the Fantasy Premier League, he would represent an obvious value route.
However, Claude Puel’s defence is without a clean sheet in five Gameweek outings, suffering defeats in their last four.
Jay Rodriguez is the other Southampton candidate on view. Still struggling to cement regular starts, he will get another opportunity to further his stock as a 6.3 midfield option, deployed in a central attacking role by Puel.
Elsewhere, the performance of Dusan Tadic could also be of interest.
The Serbian earned recognition in our Spot the Differential article for Gameweek 22, having fired in seven goal attempts in the defeat at Burnley last weekend.
