The ScoutCast – Episode 228 – Countdown

The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

        Depends on your second GK, Foster is better if you're planning to play him for most of the first few weeks, Begovic & Hart are better if you plan to rotate them with someone.

      Eriksen. Alli had a very high conversion percentage on shots in the box last year, which I expect to come down. Meanwhile, Eriksen's production from last year looks sustainable.

        Agreed, Alli's appeal is that he's more of a scoring mid, Eriksen assists, but I think it'll be easier for Eriksen to repeat last season's success.

      Hard to separate them. I get the feeling that Eriksen has more to give and can improve his output, whereas Alli seemed like he was overachieving last season. Just my opinion and that's not necessarily worth a lot!

        Spot on actually, my only worry was that Alli is a goalscoring mid, but Eriksen is the better player, so I'll pick him if I opt to not get Kane from the start.

              Maybe use a 5.5 milf as bandwagon spot. That frees a bit up. Kola's fantastic but with our early doors budget he feels a bit too luxurious.
