Dugout Discussion – Leicester vs West Brom

Gameweek 8 concludes at the King Power Stadium with Leicester City hosting West Bromwich Albion.

The Fantasy Football community will be torn heading into this encounter, with allegiances split between the home attack and the Baggies backline.

Jamie Vardy is undoubtedly the star turn on show. Owned by 16.3% of managers, the five-goal striker was brought in by 294,000 ahead of Gameweek 8, the third most popular transfer target. He has goals in his last two in front of his own supporters, but is yet to score against West Brom at home in three attempts.

Elsewhere for the Foxes, Harry Maguire boasts an ownership of 7.4%, attracting just over 40,000 new managers prior to Saturday’s deadline. The centre-back has a goal and an assist from his three home appearances so far.

Ahmed Hegazi remains the most popular asset in the West Brom camp. Still part of 1.3 million squads, he’s been benched by 353,000 (26.9%) ahead of tonight’s clash.

Meanwhile, Ben Foster was due to be backed by an ownership of just over 800,000 but will play no part in tonight’s match having been ruled out with a knee problem. Over 347,000 of his managers named Foster in their starting XI and now turn to their reserve keeper.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hi guys. Would appreciate a little help. Should I address Chalobah immediately or can I afford to wait one week and replace him with my 2 FTs next week and get Richarlison for free? Thanks all, appreciate the feedback.

    Elliot
    Davies - Kola - Cresswell - Jones
    Sterling - Salah - Atsu
    Kane - Lukaku - Jesus

    4.0M/ RLC - Chalobah - 3.9M

I don't like 433 much especially when it means having Atsu as a third mid.

I'd possibly look at moving to 343/442 depending on whether you want to keep a fourth defender.

That 1.3m is better off invested than sitting there, I'd probably take a -4 this week myself. Possibly cash in on Kolasinac to a 4.5 and upgrade Chalobah.

4-3-3- served me pretty well last few weeks to be honest, but yes 3-4-3 is something I'm considering too very soon. Thanks for the tip mate, but will probably wait a week before selling Kola.

So this goes against all conventional FPL wisdom. I am looking to take a 20 point hit. I beleieve that I will make the points back over the next 3 weeks, obtain potential price rises, claim value from the squad and be set up better in the weeks to follow.

    Current team...

    Elliot
    Bertrand - Jones - Alonso - Trippier
    Silva - Eriksen - Hazard
    Kane - Joselu - Vardy

    Foster - RLC - Carroll - Mbemba

    Transfers...

    Hazard to Zaha
    Carrol to Richarlison
    Joselu to Aguero
    Foster to Myhill
    Bertrand to Huhnmeier
    Trippier to Ake

    New team...

    Elliot
    Ake - Alonso - Jones
    Silva - Eriksen - Zaha - Richarlison
    Aguero - Kane - Vardy
    Myhill - RLC - Huenmeier - Mbemba

They keep a clean sheet and he gets all the bps. They have great fixtures coming up.

Zaha, Ake and Richarlison have all been long term targets.

                That's the thing they aren't.

It is about taking dead money out of the team and streamlining it better.

Foster, Bertrand, Trippier can all do with going for reasons below. Joselu isn't a great pick.

Ake and Zaha are players I have been waiting for the fixtures to change. Ake might be mocked but will be a great option. Zaha and Rich are the best bargain midfielders/attackers to supplement the team.

Aguero is...well Aguero over Joselu is thr bonus. It is more about the make up of the squad than Kun.

Couldn’t agree more about streamlining but for hits is usually the issue. Even when you take the hits there will be something pressing after or another player will be a target

If you want aguero, downgrade eriksen to a budget mid like gross and betrand to a 4.5 defender. If not I will be looking to address trippier or betrand this week. Such a big hit is unnecessary in my opinion

I disagree with most of the replies.......I would do it, good new team that wouldn't need tinkering for a couple of weeks and I agree with your theory, especially this early in the season, as plenty of time to get the points back and the value up.

Ake has an away fixture, he can wait a bit longer. If Aurier starts against Real, there's a good chance Trippier starts at the weekend. You already have a playing GK. And Bertrand>Hunemeier significantly weakens your defense. Having Hunemeier and Mbemba on the bench is asking for trouble.

How about Hazard > Zaha/Rich (whoever you prefer) and Vardy > Aguero (if he looks like starting), then reasess?

The problem is I still end up with Joselu, Bertrand (wasting money), Trip (rotation risk), Foster (expensive injured).

I think Richarlison and Zaha (along with Jones) are the bargains of the season and I want them earlyish.

I hear you but you must have a decent OR surely if you're considering a -20?

I'm having the worst start ever (1.5 mil...) and such a drastic measure wouldn't help.

        Why would he?

They play much better with only one of them in a central position and BOTH Sterling and Sané on the 'wings'.

Jesus not as good when playing on the left. Not as quick as Sané. So, for me, Pep has to choose between Jesus and Aguero.

More likely Jesus will start and Aguero comes on for minutes later in the game if its comfortable.

Or more aggressively both will start but its a strange game to throw Aguero in.

I think Jesus will start against Burnley and Aguero subbed later in.

I know things have changed since last season but it wasn't the case back then. And I think Jesus made a point this weekend - food for thought for Pep imo. Don't think Kun is a definite starter when fit. Both could start any game, or be benched any game.

They smashed both Liverpool and Watford 5-0 and 6-0 respectively with Both Jesus and Aguero starting. I think they are so good a side one or two players in or out won't matter much to them as long as it is not KDB/Silva Imo. He has so much options. He will rotate them for fun. Aguero and jesus in this form is surely good for the team. I know Sane and sterling at wings are brilliant so far too.

Yeah maybe. Liverpool game was even until Mané red card (the try to play with 10 vs that City team, especially if you're Liverpool...), two of the first three goals were offside against Watford and that killed the game too.

    Morning all,

Thinking of taking out Bavies for Jones although this would give me double United defence but will allow me to get a liverpool midfielder next week. daft move?

    Current team is

    DDG / Elliot

    Bavies / Kolasinac / Lascelles / Naughton / Long

    Sterling / Ramsey / Chuopo-moting / Ritchie / Carroll

    Kane / Jesus / Lukaku

Next week i would then move on Ramsey & Kolasinac for Salah & Daniels.

    What do you think?

Don't mid double united defence. They will park the bus against top sides so a CS is not out of the possibility vs Chelsea and Spurs. And then they have beautiful fixtures again

yeah the clean sheet away at liverpool is a good bench mark of what they will try and do against the top sides.

        it is tempting.

think this is a bit harsh.

Defence isn't average, or certainly wasn't, but perhaps after this weekend is starting to look poorer given Davies didn't play and Arsenal fell apart.

Midfield is certainly on the weak side, hence trying to raise some cash to get a liverpool midfielder in there. It's served me ok so far, sitting at 93k

Wasn't after a RMT but appreciate the reply anyway

You're in serious trouble with that team imo. Your defence is gong to get roasted and your midfield is horrible although it will look better with salah but you are further weakening the defence. You won't be long dropping if you keep going this direction imo

Your plan is allright, although Ritchie > Richarlison may prove to be just as good for points.

yeah planning on getting richarlison for ritchie soon but would cost me a -4 unless i did that trasnfer as your recommend.

alternative is i might wildcard next week. If Foster is out for a while then Myhill in for DDG (but getting Jones so still have united defence) would free up a chunk of cash.

Re wc no not really, I had a good few legacy issues I wanted fixed and spotted a change in fixtures (I had kun in for city coverage).

I was planning a -4 for kaku and Brady to Jesus and sterling last week but kun news killed me there. My wc was wrecked by injuries and suspensions otherwise I was happy with the template and the players.

This week I did Eriksen to Sterling as I feel a little over exposed to spurs with their dodgy Wembley form. But if that form turns I may revisit. Bavies is next on the hit list with Cedric going from gw12 (I'll be looking at Dann rotation with someone and keeping the dirt 5th mid and 3rd striker which incidentally would have been tammy had he not been dropped for bony the weekend I played my wc).

There will be some rotation but probably not as much as we think. In addition to coming back from a very long injury Rose is reportedly on his way out of Spurs, possibly in January. Thoughts?

Assuming the same. Davies won't be dropped easily after how he is performing...
