Dugout Discussion – Everton vs Arsenal

Sunday’s action gets underway at Goodison Park as Everton and Arsenal go head-to-head in the 1.30pm kick-off.

The Gunners seek a fifth clean sheet in six as they attempt to bounce back from last week’s late capitulation at Watford.

Arsene Wenger recalls both Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey, who both missed out through injury at Vicarage Road.

Sitting in just 2% of FPL squads, Sanchez has suffered a hugely underwhelming start to the season and has mustered just two assists, though both have arrived in his last two appearances.

Mesut Ozil is handed a first start since Gameweek 5, while Alexandre Lacazette is the most captained player for Sunday’s early encounter – over 143,000 have handed the Frenchman the armband, though all four of his league strikes have arrived at the Emirates so far.

Everton’s disastrous start to the season has ensured that most of us have steered well clear of their main men.

Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney remain their likeliest source of points, though Dominic Calvert-Lewin is worth monitoring as a budget frontman.

Priced at 5.0, the youngster starts for the fourth successive Gameweek and may yet prove a viable option if the Toffees can find their form ahead of clashes against Leicester, Watford, Palace, Southampton, West Ham and Huddersfield in the next six.

Davies, Suttner, Sterling non starters for me this wk which is really disappointing.

First it was Sterling (Gross came on) now it's Davies (I get Ward's 1 pointer)

    Feck off Poch.

      He's not horrendous. Just hot-headed and ill-disciplined.

      Actually you are probably right.

If Davies is fit to start and Poch has benched him to play a RWB at LWB it is poor. Spurs lose 20% of their attacking output IMO when they don't have the width created by their wing-backs.

Have Doucoure as my 2nd bench player. Sterling didn't play so all I need is Davies not to play. Unlikely as the bench is pretty poor.

Think I put Otamendi in for Davies on the transfer page at least 5 times last week...

Can't wait for Liverpool to get a penalty. Aurier inevitably follows through with a hasty challenge on Salah in the box.

Neither Firmino or Salah steps up to take it.

In comes Milner. He blasts it in. Judgement clouded for another week and we have to keep guessing.

    Klopp smiles. BOOM.
