The Community Round-up: Website remains busy during international break

The Fantasy Football Scout community haven’t relented in their efforts despite us entering the dead zone that is the international break.

Early transfers were a source of discussion, along with premium strikers and Liverpool defenders.

Our latest Community Round-up feature also looks over the various tournaments and mini-leagues that involve FFS users.

The Hottest Topics

Brazilian pair Bernard and Kenedy were two of the names mentioned in Gregor‘s “eye test” as the Community began the week by looking back at Gameweek 8.

With those matches out of the way, we asked whether you were pushing the button early on your Fantasy transfers or waiting till the FPL assets in question were back from international duty.

Bullet Eder asked if we should go without a premium striker this season, while ZoumasBloomers switched focus to the defence and wondered if doubling up on the Liverpool backline is worth a gamble.

Taking stock has been in order over this international break, too.

Deulofail asked for your season by numbers, while WesManTooth and Jealous Viper wanted to hear your biggest delights and most lamentable regrets of 2018/19.

Pierce34 challenged the FFS community to beat his captain score for the season, meanwhile.

Community Tables

Here is just a small selection of the excellent array of public tables created this week and available in the Members’ area

Remember, to see your table featured here (if that’s what you want!) please ensure you include a description explaining the purpose of it.

Community Tournaments

Brayden McCullough still leads our public Fantasy Football Scout League but has slipped to second overall after three Gameweeks at number one.

Luke Aiello is the new leader in our Fantasy Football Scout Members League and has also regained the lead in RedLightning‘s Top 10k Any Season mini-league. He played his Wildcard in Gameweek 7 and is now up to 28th overall. He has had two previous top 10k finishes (6,621st in 2014/15 and 2,759th in 2016/17).

RedLightning still leads the FFS Mods & Cons mini-league, with Chris Atkinson (RMT’s Professor) now in second place.

FFS user Lawrø has created a new community tournament which he describes as “similar to Community Watch but shorter.” Find out more about it HERE.

We’d like to remind our readers that it is not too late to sign up to the Fantasy Football Scout Charity Cup taking place on Saturday November 17. Find out more about it HERE.

    I have Patricio + Doherty.

I have to sell PVA to afford Salah with my 2fts.

Seeing as I'm playing Alonso/Doherty/Mendy as a back 3 would I be as well off to get Bennett for the bench over, say, Duffy??

How come no fans have turned up to watch this Croatia vs England game?

Two WC simi finalists, you would get a bigger crowd than this for a Castleisland AFC game.

Well done Numb it was great to see you getting grilled by Jonty.

Haha. I didn’t quite mean it like that.

More like, you need skill to get to a certain level but then you need that skill PLUS luck to get to the really high ranks.

          2. Deulofail
            • 8 Years
            5 years, 11 months ago

Haha yeah! Players who win are lucky because they often do poorly in other seasons? More like they don't play the "I want to be near the top 100 but not outside the top 10k" game. Their teams have to be a little more different than having one or two "differentials" all season.

My humble opinion is that if Numb ever wins with such a conservative strategy, it would demonstrate more "luck" than someone winning who goes against the grain (risking rank drops), and getting it right (getting "lucky") one season, so long as they're not being different for the sake of it

-but even then, being different can be a calculated strategy to win, because somebody's going to be different and make gains at some point, somewhere in the world!

I would love to know what the Pros/Elite players think of my current team.

The watchlist can't be updated, right? Robertson must be better than Tripper?

Id say so. Spurs have bad fixtures, key players injured and must win CL games coming up. Not to mention Liverpool have been the better team this season.... and i’m a Spurs fan.
