While the Fantasy Premier League masses work out how to stockpile Manchester City midfielders, we’ve also been looking for some under the radar options.
Ahead of the Gameweek 14 deadline, we’ve picked out three options all owned by less than 5% of Fantasy managers who can propel you up the rankings.
We’ve been looking at Spurs as well as some budget options elsewhere…
Son Heung-min
Price: £8.3m
Ownership: 1.7%
An impressive performance for Son Heung-min (£8.3m) in Spurs’ 3-1 win over Chelsea in Gameweek 13 has put him back on our Fantasy radars.
We think that he could continue his form into the north London derby this weekend and act as an incredible differential with just 1.7% ownership.
That display at Wembley will almost certainly allow Son to hold onto his place, with Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura both starting against Inter Milan midweek.
If Son reverts to his usual position on the right at Arsenal, having played up front with Kane at the weekend, he should have a field day.
We recently discovered that Arsenal are defensively weakest down their left flank this season, which could leave the door open for a Son masterclass.
Even if the South Korean plays as a centre-forward again then he should still enjoy his Sunday afternoon at the Emirates Stadium. No side has given up more big chances in home matches this season than Unai Emery’s Arsenal, not even Burnley.
Steve Mounié
Price: £5.8m
Ownership: 0.2%
There is something awfully specific about why Huddersfield striker Steve Mounié (£5.8m) looks set to enjoy a fruitful Gameweek 14.
His upcoming opponents Brighton and Hove Albion, who visit the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, currently rank second-worst for headed attempts conceded in away games this season.
Meanwhile, Mounié is the second-best for headed attempts among forwards in 2018/19, giving him the perfect Fantasy match-up this weekend.
While the Benin international has been known for his profligacy during his time in the Premier League, he has been pretty accurate of late too.
In the last four Gameweeks, only Harry Kane, Alvaro Morata, Mohamed Salah and Anthony Martial have had more shots on target than Mounié.
He has started the last three matches in a row, with Huddersfield picking up seven points from a possible nine in that time. For that reason, he should retain his place amid competition from Laurent Depoitre, currently an injury doubt.
Andros Townsend
Price: £5.7m)
Ownership: 1.1%
Crystal Palace may be short on goals right now but they should get over that problem when they face Burnley this weekend.
13 Gameweeks into the season and no side has overtaken the Clarets for number of shots conceded, either in total or in the box.
That makes them the perfect opponents for Palace this weekend.
While Wilfried Zaha remains the popular Eagles option (14% ownership), there is every chance that Andros Townsend (£5.7m) could also benefit at Selhurst Park.
He has actually been outperforming Zaha for underlying statistics in the last four Gameweeks. The Englishman is ahead on both total shots, and shots on target. In fact he has five accurate efforts in that time compared to Zaha’s zero.
Furthermore, Townsend is just one created chance behind his Ivorian colleague, giving him the potential for a spread of points for a much cheaper price.
