Scoutcast Episode 281 – Buzzing

Harry Kane’s ankle injury, which is set to keep him out of action until March, tops the bill during an action-packed show that bizarrely also takes in James Bond and Toy Story.

After taking great pleasure in looking back on their excellent Gameweek 22 scores, the Scoutcast crew tuck into the key questions from the community ahead of the next set of matches.

Kane’s absence sees David, Joe, Az and Luke discuss the best forward options, with Manchester United’s talismanic striker topping their lists. Moving money into midfield is also considered as the crew look at Dele Alli’s Buzz Lightyear-esque ability to step up whenever his Spurs’ team-mate is absent.

Whether to ditch disappointing players from the ranks of Chelsea, Everton and West Ham is another issue tackled.

Meanwhile, there are some words of warning for those looking to deploy their second wildcard now rather than save it to help navigate the double and blank Gameweeks to come.

Elsewhere, Az’s round-up of the community’s recent moves showcases a high-flying manager with a licence to thrill in the overall rankings.

The crew finish off with a look at their transfer and captaincy plans as well as the best differentials and defences in Gameweek 23.

      Yeah, they play on the Saturday too. Good news for Digne.

      But Richarlison is very inconsistent, who knows what boots he'll be wearing...

    A) Arnie or if he doesn't start then Pereira
    B) Pogba (-4)

    Richarlison up to his old tricks.

    18 goal attempts in the last 6 gameweeks.

    Only THREE on target.

    Current team:

    Digne | Shaw | Pereira (Bednarek, Femenia)
    Hazard | Pogba | Sane | Richarlison
    Kane | Rashford | Wilson

    Bench: Bednarek (Everton), Femenia (Burnley), Odoi

    Worth doing a -4 of:

    Kane>Jimenez? I'm struggling, because at one side, it's a move I've wanted to make a while to fund Odoi to Salah next gw, on the other, I think there's a possible clean sheet in either Bed's or Fem's game, who would both be playing if I didn't bring in Jimenez. Jimenez chance of outscoring them by 4 over the next 2 is considerable, though.

    Alternatively, considering this for -8:

    Kane ->Jimenez, Wilson ->Auba. Thought being that Chelsea (H) and Cardiff (H) are, in fact, two nice fixures attacking wise. This would also allow me to do Richarlison to Salah, rather than Odoi to Salah, after Everton's West Ham home game, and give me Auba rather than Wilson for the next 7.

    Thoughts?

    Team, captain choice and bench order looking gtg?
    Was torn btw benching Rondon or Digne.
    Currently on the following team, 0FT, 1.2m itb.
    Cheers.

    Fabianski
    Trippier/Robertson/Digne/Doherty
    Salah (c)/F.Anderson/Sane/Pogba
    Aubameyang/Rashford

    Subs: Hamer/ Rondon/Wan Bissaka/Kenedy

    A) Kane & Felipe Anderson -> Jimenez & Salah 2FT
    B) Kane, Hudson-Odoi & Alonso -> Jimenez, Salah & Shaw -4

    Problem with the last one would be to bench either Felipe Anderson, Pereyra, Deeney or Jimenez.

    Are either of these worth a -4?
    TAA -> Robertson (no Pool defence but have Doherty/Digne/Bednerak/AWB all playable this week)
    Lingard->Pogba (also have Rashford)

    Lingard just isn't doing it atm and Pogba ownership is scary..

      Shaw Best - Good fixtures and United playing well, plus they are attacking so chance of assists
      Digne - Obvious reasons, but fixtures not as good as united.
      Doherty - Again, obvious, but fixtures not as good as united
      Tripper - Not sure about spurs with kane and son out

      Digne, Trippier, Shaw, Doherty.

      The first a much better combo of CS/Att. potential than Shaw, Doherty in the next 3 has to rely on Att threat, I don't see CS versus Leicester, West ham, Everton, Bournemouth.

    I don't have Salah, and don't want to use my wildcard just to get him in. What you guys think?

    I'm 90 k overall, but I'm concerned as I don't know who to captain this week.

    Etheridge
    Robertson/Daniels/Bennett
    Mane/Frasee/Sane/Pogba(c)
    Jiminez/Firmino(v) /Aubameyang

    Fabianski/Camarasa/Kolasinac/Wan Bissaka.

    Liverpool aren't guaranteed to thump Palace, so is it a waste of a wildcard.

    Also, Firmino captain? Seems risky
