Scoutcast Episode 294 – Endgame

“We’re in the Endgame now.”

With just one round of fixtures left of the season the Scoutcast team attempt to wrap up all of the outstanding talking points ahead of Gameweek 38.

Andy, David and Az began by overcoming the frustrating nature of Gameweek 37 in order to get truly excited about the final day of the campaign.

Not surprisingly, the key player to be discussed was Son Heung-min, whose red card against Bournemouth ruled him out of Gameweek 38.

We looked at all the potential replacements and examined all the implications of moving him on for a cheaper midfield options.

That included our thoughts on Manchester United and Southampton assets after poor performances in Gameweek 37.

Next up was a debate on what Wolves can bring to Liverpool in Gameweek 38, especially with so many managers either double or tripled-up on them.

In the aftermath of the Reds’ incredible Champions League semi-final win over Barcelona, we also looked at what we thought Jurgen Klopp’s men are capable of in their Premier League finale.

Also, an injury to Andrew Robertson on Tuesday night prompted discussion about what to do with the left-back in Gameweek 38.

Finally, Andy, David and Az tackled some last day of the season dilemmas from managers wondering what tactics to employ to ensure the highest possible finish.

This episode of the Scoutcast can be accessed on our YouTube channel or embedded in the article below.

Once again, we apologise that we are still unable to publish it in a podcast form and will endeavour to rectify this for the 2019/20 season.

I still see Mane > Salah as fairly sideways (unless you're going to captain). If Robbo is out Milner will likely start so no pens for Mo.

The first is not beyond possibility.
The second would require city to have three red cards, for the ref to support Brighton or Pool, and for a powerful sorcerer to hypnotise 3-4 city players into aiming to score in the wrong direction.
Even then Brighton might just nick a draw 🙂

Possibly Hazard's final league game for Chelsea & I've missed Colin, would love him back 😉

That's not true. In most cases where a player pushes another he gets a yellow card. Punches and elbows are violent, there is a big difference. I cant remember a player being sent of for a push. Unless you include pushing refs 🙂

was being sarcastic there mate but I think he was forceful enough for the ban to stand, would be shocked to see it recinded tbh

Hard to tell how forceful something is with the way players throw themselves to the ground. I think the likely outcome is a reduced ban but despite others posting to the contrary, there IS a chance

        At least?

I probably wouldn't wait beyond Sunday.

Best replacement for Son & Robbo ? on 2 FT - 1.8 itb

    Foster/Ryan
    Robbo*/Laporte/Shaw/Bednarek/Jonny
    Mane/B.Silva/Son*/Jota/Hojberg
    Aguero/Vardy/Jimenez

      TAA makes sense no?

I’d be tempted to get Redmond and play Jim.

Lots of money left in the bank but those are the players I’d want.

Oh just seen you’d have money for Hazard.

I’m buying into the narrative and got him for a hit last time out for Vardy and Son. Stats say otherwise but I can see a big performance in his last PL match - punt

Thanks for advice, if it turned out that Robbo is fit I may as well do Son & Jimmy to Hazard & Rondon

Like that - I’m moving for Rondon too

I like Redmond this week but Haz is still the second highest scorer in the game and so it feels ok to move on him!

Robbo to TAA if hes injured.

I can't see any obvious midfielders to replace Son (I have Pogba, Mane)

    Son + Robbo -> Hazard + Valery for a -4?

Not worth a -4. Fraser, Babel, Redmond, and Mili.

Then I will have to play Cathcart if Robbo doesn't play...

Hazard's away form is less then stellar and SOU xGC over their last six is 9.7. TAA/VvD + Redmond/Fraser if you're going to take a hit.

I have TAA already, so I guess I can play Cathcart and bring in Fraser for Son...

      B.Silva?

If you already dont have 3 City.

      £6.5m and £7.0m for Robbo I reckon

Probably worth the investment though if fixtures are right. 11 assists in the PL alone this season.

Plenty of bargain defenders will emerge next season. There will always be a new Demel or Doherty.

Just get TAA and Laporte in and your defence is sorted.
